Two words: Ta Jiri They loved him when he debuted. His crazy skills won over the crowd more than a thousand vignettes could have. Plus, his few-and-far-between Japanese promos were pretty well received if only for the sheer novelty of them. I'm sure having Regal as his straightman helped a lot, but the guy had something really great going before he was regulated to Midget Purgatory.

Welcome back to the xenophobia of the late 1980's! I gather his first opponent will be Sgt. Slaughter, followed by Jim Duggan, and then his first PPV match will be against the Narcis... I mean, the All-American murder suspect Lex Luger. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
-
Hear hear. One match out of a thousand isn't going to really change a lot of opinions, crazy stunts or not. It's not like he's Shane McMahon or something.
-
Is it definitely him? Did they actually show him in the vignette? I only caught the tail end of it where they showed his name. Some have speculated that it could be Kendo Ka Shin, who has also been making appearances here and there. Any confirmations?

So, the WW_ death count now stands at two: Kurt Angle Victoria If the Law of Threes is in effect, who will be the next to fall? Tune in to SmackDown! to find out! And in answer to your questions, Fertig is on SD! as the religious fanatic Mordecai, and Edge and Benoit beat Evolution for the tag belts.
-
I've been having a debate with my friends about Victoria's chest, and we've come to the conclusion that they're real. Look at them from the side and you can tell. They're a nice size but they're not unnaturally round and thrusting except for when she wears her peekaboo tops. As for the rest of the show, I too was puzzled over Benjamin's absence. He definitely should have capitalized on his win over Flair on Sunday. Eugene has ceased being offensive and is now in the twin cities of hackneyed and lame. Two noticeable anti-Austin signs: F*ck Domestic Violence Austin 3:16, Debra 911 Oh yeah, and Fuck Lance Cade. He couldn't get over with a rocket pack. He needs to get off my TV. And take Coach with him.

You forgot: Tajiri - silly short foreigner who got over by his ringwork and charisma Cade - trained by Jesus' towel boy Shawn Michaels The rest writes itself.

Has anyone ever taken that kind of bump without a shirt on?

My beef with the finish was that the second RKO onto the barbed wire bat didn't look devastating enough. I don't know if it was the camerawork or the suddenness of the attack or the logistics of slamming a guy's face into the bat with your arm tucked under his chin, but it just didn't come off well on TV. The whole story of the match was one of viciousness and ultra-violence, so it would stand to reason that the finish would be a culmination of that. This ending just didn't live up to what the rest of the match promised. That's not to say that it ruined the whole match for me. I was mightily impressed with the damage both guys took.
-
The finish to the Foley match was a bit anti-climactic, if only for the camerawork. I was hoping for Orton to throw the barbed-wire board onto a prone Foley and then pinning him that way. That would have sealed the deal, I think. As it stands, even though I still find his mic work and in-ring skills bland, Orton's at least showed me he has heart. The Jericho/Trishtian match and the main event made the PPV solid. The rest of the matches were what they were.

Touching on what Spiffy said... Isn't it wrestling protocol to put wrestlers into teams when they have nothing else to do? It worked in the 80s with Akeem and Bossman, Martel and Santana, and to a lesser extent Hercules and Roma. So why not do it with Rey Rey and Kidman? And what better time than now, when there is a complete dearth of teams on SD!? Stupid humans.

Guess what I was doing when that idiot came back to RAW? I was watching paint dry. Seriously, I was painting my son's room, so I missed it. However, I did tape the beginning of the show and watched it later... ...I should've watched the paint dry some more. Get that tubby bitch a shirt, a clue, and another pink slip. He's useless.

Oh TAG~! Unless this is some $9.99 PPV, or the card is superb from top to bottom, they're going to be hard-pressed to get anyone to order the show, especially if it's right after a Sunday PPV. And what of the rosters? If it's a SD! PPV, do they then go with a live SD! two days later?

I don't know that the IWC necessarily hates the man. It's more a knock on his proclivity for booking matches with tons of false finishes. If anything, he was one of the few gaijin wrestlers to make a name for himself in Japan after a lackluster career in the States as one of the Dynamic Dudes. I too hope for an end to the Hoss era. That will only happen if/when the RAW announce team is put out to pasture.

I have this sinking feeling in my stomach

Too true, Damaramu. If that is your real name... -
His brother. And maybe some Japanese castoffs. And false finishes. Yeah. Lots of false finishes.
-
Replace that with "shirk the blame for hiring shitty wrestlers" and you've got something there.

But saying "Jason Reso" is KEWL~!!!! -
That would be his comments on the post-Sept. 11th Smackdown, about killing foreigners or something. About as classless as Stuffy McHams' comment comparing the bombing to the US Government going after her daddy during the steroid scandal. As for Bradshaw's latest run channeling Ted DiBiase, colour me unimpressed. Well, more unimpressed than I usually am with him. I mean, did they really have to give him fifteen minutes to milk the whole "wax my car" bit? Sheesh.

Except, in this case, she slept her way to the top and married the Argentian President's janitor.

The Eugene Character Was Nick Dinsmore's Idea
notJames replied to BoboBrazil's topic in The WWE Folder
Bwahahahahahahaha! I don't feel sorry for Dinsmore anymore; I feel sorry for the other wrestlers. If they beat him, they just beat a "retard". If they lose, they lost to a "retard". Stupid humans. -
The Styles Clash isn't fluid enough for someone as graceful as Shelton. There are too many motions involved before and after the move hits. Kinda like the Pedigree. The Brock Lock relies on people who are willing to take it properly, like the Liontamer. I can't name three main eventer who would bend their necks back like that for it.
-
Agreed. As soon as Austin left the ring, I'd already forgotten about that match. No match will ever take anything away from Benoit's victory.
-
Not often enough. On topic: no big loss. It's not like there's a dearth of wrestling messageboards out there. Those Percy fans will probably just re-flock to Lance Storm's site.

The only good part of Confidential was the old matches. Just pick a handful every week, have someone do a simple intro explaining the backstory of the matches, and you've got a solid hour of programming. It's not like they're hurting for old footage, especially from every defunct American wrestling organization that ever existed.
