  1. kkk, YOU'RE FIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRREEEEEED!!!!
  2. "The time has come that the American people know exactly what their Representatives are doing here in Washington. Are they feeding at the public trough, taking lobbyist-paid vacations, getting wined and dined by special interest groups? Or are they working hard to represent their constituents? The people, the American people, have a right to know...I say the best disinfectant is full disclosure, not isolation." - U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, 11/16/95
  3. I can't believe this thread managed to go 4 pages without a 4:20 joke...
  4. Viscera asking Trish to "service" him was one of the most deliciously creepy lines I've heard in a while. It reminded me of that Steiner-Steph segment where Scott wanted to have her right then and there in the middle of the ring.
  5. Being a member of the Hilter Youth is really a non-issue. In Germany at that time it wasn't much diferent than being a member of the Boy Scouts is now. It's not like he was a member of the SS or something.
  6. That's not bad at all then. In Canada they last 5 years and cost a lot more.
  7. Replace Chris Daniels with Antonio Esfandiari and Elix Skipper with Phil Hellmuth Jr. or whatnot, and that could be a World Poker Tour ad.
  8. "Odd" is a pretty big understatement. Pink Floyd's absence from the list basically makes it worthless on that fact alone. Hell, I'm as big a fan of Radiohead as anyone, but for them to be ahead of Pink Floyd on such a list is laughable.
  9. I think this is about right. I think most of it is a political ploy. But there is that whole "Canadians have identity issues" thing, in which I think many times Canadians try to be the yin to our yang just to try and desperately distinguish themselves from us in some way. As for the passport thing, what's the big deal? I wouldn't have a problem presenting a passport to get into or out of the country. My main issues with it are: 1. the cost of applying for a passport 2. the relatively quick (for the cost) expiry date 3. the length of the application procedure If a passport cost less, or even better cost the same but had about double the life it does now, I wouldn't care all that much. But having to spend a good chunk of cash every 5 years is a bit tiresome.
  10. Rumsfeld puts off way too much of a "Robert McNamara after he lost it and spiralled out of control" vibe to me now. He's like the Bush administration's Grumpy Old Man who stubbornly refuses to wear his diaper even though he can't make it to the bathroom on time.
  11. Mind clueing me in as to the location of these "spoilers"?
  12. People like to pick up any semblance of USA-Canada tension and run with it, totally overstating its relevance. In the meantime, billions of dollars in goods are flowing across the border in both directions.
  13. Am I the only one who's NEVER understood the appeal of "shock jocks" and "radio personalities"?
  14. I continue to be amazed at the internet's overreaction to the release of mediocre midcarders who are rarely on TV. This is yet another release I couldn't care less about even if I tried.
  15. My favorite dishes to cook are: thai curry : Thai curry paste (I like yellow and red the best), cocunut milk, bamboo shoots, pineapple, various combinations of other ingredients (bell peppers, bean sprouts, etc.). mapo-tofu: The main ingredients are tofu (soft works best) and chili black bean paste. Then I use asparagus or minced pork depending if I'm in vegetarian mode or. not, along with green onions, garlic, some hot peppers, with soya sauce and chicken broth risotto: Arborio rice is the key here, regular long grain is passable but nowhere near as good, particularly in texture. The basic stuff is onions, garlic and olive oil, and other ingredients depend mostly on what I have around. Two basic arrangements I like are 1) olives, asparagus, and tomatoes 2) lemon and pine nuts, possibly with some asparagus or shrimp. I also make a variety of pasta dishes, usually with either italian or indian flavours.
  16. If casinos were smart they would simply not allow people to bump their bets while a sleeve is being played out.
  17. Frankly I couldn't care less about this.
  18. Beastie Boys - "Sabotage"
  19. I'd put the over/under on yearly spinal fusion surgeries in a Heyman-Booked TNA at 4.
  20. I'd guess that it might have something to do with Clinton's desire to be the next UN Secretary General. If he can get along with Bush and convince him that as UNSG he will advance the USA's agenda, that will significantly help him get the position. If Clinton can get the USA and China on his side then he's probably a lock for the job.
  21. Too bad he's part of a dying breed in Canada. Elaborate. Canadian exports are up, our government has much more of a voice in the world community and patriotism is clearly at high right now. Charitable donations are also up. Please explain. It means Don Cherry isn't some pc socialist, like Canada's gov't has become. No, Don Cherry is a bigot, plain and simple. He's the Canadian equivalent of Pat Buchanan with less political credibility. Paul Martin, the Prime Minister of Canada, is a big-business politician whose main contributors are Bay Street (Canada's version of Wall Street, where the TSE is located) bankers. During his stint as finance minister his budgets were always slanted in that direction.
  22. Did we REALLY need a rehash of the Florida election crap AND the Iraq/Afghanistan wars in this thread? It's turning into a "Brief History of Lame Current Events Arguments".
  23. There is some pretty good stuff mixed in there. I'd love to watch that Bret-Sid cage match with Bret's classic temper tantrum after it was over and all the Wrestlemania guys brawling.
  24. Fischer personifies the "insane genius". People had a pretty good idea he was nuts when he refused to defend the world championship after winning it and ran off instead.
  25. Just in case anyone was feeling burned out with this and needed something juicy to perk their interest back up, your saviour has arrived! JESSE JACKSON is now on the case: http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/29/schiavo/index.html I suppose he was just waiting for "camera saturation" to reach an appropriate level.
