I think a lot of people gave it up when it was clear that the board was just Mike and Marney's playground and wasn't offering anything that TSM wasn't doing better. Hence you get this "flyover state" dilemma where there's CE, Hell, and everything in between is totally neglected. When I point this out, Mike goes "WELL SHEESH DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT," but what can I do? Spam nine empty folders? That won't change anything, because nobody cares about those folders. I wanted The Pit to be an alternative too, but it failed. Chalk it up to slow traffic, the god-awful Boardum thread, or the fact that a lot of people think some or all of the conservative clique members are insufferable douchebags. At any rate it's gonna be hard to get it up and running as a full board; you might as well wipe out all the pop culture folders and whittle it down to Current Events, General Chat, Hell, and Porn

I can use Photoshop, I'd be glad to help with some cosmetic stuff. Also, if we all want to write for the site, you should let us.

If the album is just the band's/performer's songs randomly thrown together, the band is lazy. Treat the album as a whole. I'm not saying every release has to be a rock opera, but a lot of stuff could have better transitions.

The warmer sound of vinyl is actually a shortcoming of the recording medium, but we love it anyway. I listened to DSotM on vinyl, then CD, and I preferred the vinyl. Also, cover art isn't as compromised, so it's cool from that standpoint. While I prefer vinyl, I just listen to MP3s and CDs, because it's just practical, you know? EDIT: now that you mention iPods making CDs extinct, I really hope it doesn't happen. Even if I put all my music on one, I like to have all my CD cases on a shelf, so I can be proud of them and all that. I can line up my 32 Frank Zappa CDs and say "this is my collection," and it actually exists in a tangible form. oh well
