  1. Focus on going .500 first...
  2. The votes, as they are now, are 12 for a, 2 for b, and 6 for c (Always Pissed Off voted in his PM), so unless a mass wave of illegals submit their ballots, it looks like the scoring system will be the same for next year. There's another proposal that will be on the ballot next week. I'll keep the polls open for this vote for another few days, and it is possible that if the 10 or so people left who can vote but haven't so far all vote "c" that scoring proposal will take the lead. Remember, vote or DIE. Sunday deadline has passed...
  3. Eh. That story a while back about the kid having sex in this girl's bellybutton that was being used as an anus was much better...
  4. 14-hour shift? Damn, I worked one 6-hour shift at one of those places before, and that was more than enough for me. Things can't be that hard up North that this is the only job you can find. Next thing you know, you'll tell me that this e-mail I got from some guy in Nigeria who needs $1,000 from me so he can give me his $1 million cash windfall locked away in some hippie account is a fraud, too...
  5. Hawt. If you don't mind me asking, where do you work?...
  6. Oh, because some people who might be up by 1 or 2 picks in the Saturday games might wait until their opponent makes their picks for Sunday, copy those picks and win the matchup...
  7. Deadline has come and gone for Saturday games. A suggestion to those that didn't submit picks today but will for Sunday -- PM them to me...
  8. Shouldn't your boss have known about this already? If that guy lied on an application about being conviced of something other than a misdomeaner then you did the right thing in being a snitch...
  9. Thanks. I might start up my dynsasty in a little while. I'm still getting the hang of the game play. Another hockey question: About how many shots do most real NHL games average? When I sim it looks like the shot totals average about 25. I try to have realistic stats when I play. Also, when defending a penalty shot, how do you control the goalie/make him perform saves?...
  10. Yeah, they recently ran a new ad campaign -- new look/flavors. I like black cherry pop, but the peach doesn't sound too good...
  11. Help me out with this. I'm not a big hockey fan, so some of these terms used in the game I'm not getting. When you make those "mini adjustments" to your lines, I understand the offensive ones "Conservative, All-Out-Attack, etc." but the defensive ones I'm a bit lost on. My public school education has me assuming what "Protect the Net" means, but what exactly is "Puck Side Attack"?...
  12. Will this branch at Cooperstown be at the back of the building?...
  13. Wow. That's so funny. Damn straight. It's a good way to shut people up. Yes, I know you were being sarcastic...
  14. There was an older one than that. Back in the '80s I believe...
  15. I haven't played a hockey game in a few years, and since this has '94 on it I figured what the heck and got it. It's ok, I guess. What is your game length? I do 5-minute periods and get somewhat realistic stats -- not the 70-shot scoring fests. And it's lame that in the dynasty mode that the regular season schedule stays the same...
  16. When I was in grade school I joked about the same subject with my stuffed animals. You'll be hearing from my lawyer early next week. EDIT: I just remembered this: There was a Married with Children where Al competes in the Senior Games. FARRELLYS RIPPED OFF AL BUNDY...
  17. The kkk Bowl is just one pick and a few TBs. And let's not get too ahead of yourself. You need to make the playoffs first, hippie. Here's the rules to the post-season that I was going to copy and paste from my playoff thread from last year...
  18. He must have been great to get talent out of nothing, considering there wasn't any NHL last year...
  19. Yeah, and that's total b.s. Drunks ought to be locked up until the next morning, and then be forced to clean up their own vomit while enduring a hangover...
  20. I have other ways to waste my money, but if gambling is your thing then more power to you...
  21. You assume right. I should also point out that if we go to "c" or "d" you will have to spend more time deciding your 1-16 order of confidence each week...
  22. Deadline for Saturday games is Saturday, December 17, at noon. Deadline for Sunday games is Sunday, December 18, at midnight. Saturday Games Tampa Bay at New England (4.5) Kansas City at N.Y. Giants (3.5) (9.5) Denver at Buffalo Sunday/Monday Games (1.5) Arizona at Houston (8.5) Carolina at New Orleans Dallas at Washington (2.5) N.Y. Jets at Miami (8.5) (3.5) Pittsburgh at Minnesota San Diego at Indianapolis (7.5) (7.5) Seattle at Tennessee San Francisco at Jacksonville (15.5) (7.5) Cincinnati at Detroit Cleveland at Oakland (3.5) (3.5) Philadelphia at St. Louis Atlanta at Chicago (3.5) Green Bay at Baltimore (3.5) A few things: 1) A few people from this contest over at the other message board will be taking over three teams here. The teams that have new owners are Tenn., Min., and Seattle. I wanted them to take ownership of these teams now so they can vote on the proposed scoring changes that will be voted on below. 2) Next year the amount of times EPs can be used before you lose your team has been cut to just three. After that, I may start looking for a new owner, even if the season is still in play. 3) Because I'm adding some people from the other league in the next few weeks, I'll be doing a re-alignment of who-gets-what-team next year. I will be favoring people that have been with this contest in one league or another since it started three years ago, so please keep that in mind if I want you to move. Also, I'll be weighing the number of times people used their EPs in determing who gets to pick where they want to move first. Basically, if you've been with this contest for 2-3 years, you'll stay put with your team, unless you want to move. If you are interested in switching teams, or if you want to stay put, please let me know via PM. I'll make a list of which teams are not available (For example, Spaceman Spiff has been with the Dolphins for 3 years, if he wants to stay put, the 'Fins are off the table) and start letting people pick which team they want to be. 4) I asked for feedback last week on if there are any changes you might be interested in regarding scoring/etc. I got several proposals for changing the way scoring is done. Here they are below: a) Keep scoring as-is. Use point spreads and the usual TB. b) Keep scoring as-is with the exception of no point spreads. This is the way it was done the first year I did this contest, and I changed it to point spreads because too many contests were only being decided with one or two differing games. With point spreads, there's a better chance for two teams matched up against each other to make differing selections. c) Use a point-weighing system. When you make your picks for the week (no point spreads -- straight up and straight down) you give that matchup a number from 1-16 (or 1-14 if it is a bye week). The higher the number, the more confident you are in your selection. If you get that matchup correct, you get the points. For example, if Indy is playing Houston, you'd want to pick Indy and give a "16." For a game like, say, Pittsburgh at Cincy, you may want to give it a lower score unless you have some specific inside info that makes you 100% sure the team you pick wins. Whoever ends up with the most points (not correct picks) wins. The first TB will be whoever has the most correct picks. The second TB will be whoever more accurately guesses how many points your team scored. d) Like "c" only with point spreads used instead of straight-up/down selections. Let your voice be heard -- vote a, b, c or d. Even if you PM me your picks, please post your vote in this thread. If there isn't a clear-cut winner, I'll do a run-off. Also, if you say "I don't care/etc." this will be a vote for "a..." 23. Wait a second. If there was three seconds left, that means the game had to have been taking place past 11 p.m., if they kept the same time schedule back then. This means that even though there was no real cable news networks, unless Lennon died at that very second (I don't know if he did or not), and NBC and cBS didn't make any announcements on their own 11 p.m. news broadcasts, ABC's local newscasts would have reported this in a matter of minutes after the game ended. So what's the big deal -- am I missing something here?...
  24. Yeah, good thing there's "only" 7 in the AFC...
  25. Liberals can't fart in church because God strikes them down before they step foot in a place of worship...
