Get another job if you don't like your situation. You knew you'd be on-call when you started. Like you said in your post, you're the low man on the totem pole -- this is supposed to happen to you. If you advance up the ranks at your job and they eventually hire lower men on the totem pole, you'll be posting here bitching about how you wanted a day off but they wouldn't come in to cover your shift...

Some long-haired unemployed guy from back in the day. You know, a hippie...

I don't think so because the Steeler offense seemed to be good in previous years he took charge. What happened last year was that Cowher wanted to focus more on the passing game and less on the ball-control/power-running game, which meant a faster Amos Z. was the starting back instead of Bettis. The whole thing blew up in his face, as you can see. Ironically, Tim Lewis, who was fired as D-Coordinator last year by the Steelers (and caused a stink in the local liberal media because Lewis was black, and you're not allowed to fire black NFL coaches) is the D-Coordinator of the Giants. Gee, I wonder why Pittsburgh got rid of him? I'm sure it has before, and I think the '76 Steelers did this with Harris and Bleir...

To help soothe his wounds. Banky's losses, four of which were decided by one game or less: (This latest loss really hurt you, but Tenn and Denver play each other next week, so either one of them losing will help you. However, Denver has the regular-season tie-breaker advantage over you, as does Tenn, so one of these two teams will need to lose the rest of their games in order for you to get a shot at the playoffs...) Week 1: 9-9 via TB Week 2: 7-8 Week 4: 8-9 Week 6: 7-10 Week 7: 4-8 Week 13: 9-10 Week 15: 7-9

Well last year the Steelers were going to be a pass-oriented team, and Bettis wasn't the starting running back last year -- Amos Zer-what's-his-name was the starter. Then, toward the end of the season, Bettis became the starter. Personally, I thought it was smart for the Steelers to sign Staley and keep Jerome. Staley has trouble playing a full season, and when Bettis played a full season he seemed to be banged up down the home stretch and wasn't effective. And even though Jerome took a hefty paycut to stay with Pittsburgh, he still makes a pretty penny from endorsements -- he's beloved in Pittsburgh. Did that answer your question?...

What were the Steelers ranked as a rushing unit last year and this year? Also, in this age of parity, isn't it amazing that we're into Week 16 and have three 12/13-1 teams?...

The third one was my favorite, and I liked the fourth film, but it seemed like the actualy crime being committed was a backstory to Riggs being a dad, among other things...

Two more things regarding the Steelers of last year and the Steelers of this year: 1) Ben wouldn't be doing as well with last year's banged up O-line unit. 2) The running game wasn't nearly as good as last year as it is this year...

I didn't see it, but yeah, Ricky got the beard-thing going...

Oy, vey. I just glanced at the current state of end-of-season tie-breakers, and here are some notes that might shed some light on the playoff picture as of right now. Keep in mind there are two more weeks left, and a bunch of playoff-related games have yet to be played... AFC * If Baltimore beats Pittsburgh next week, Dr. Tom will really help his chances of getting in the playoffs because he would win the division tie-breaker between him, Cincy and Pittsburgh. * Oakland swept the season series from San Diego but lost to Tenn. in the regular season. * New England has a good conference record. * Indy got swept by Tenn, lost to Oakland, and beat Baltimore and New England. NFC * San Fran beat New Orleans in the regular season. * Detroit has a great conference record.

Don't worry, INXS. Just four more years...

Not anymore. Now he's 9-5 *insert dramatic music...*

Well, I'd want to get shot in the face. That way I can land a few slugs in my killer, too...

Seeing how Manning acted like a little bitch over getting drafted, I wouldn't have wanted him on my team. Then again, that means I wouldn't have wanted Elway either...

Social Security...not really doomed?
kkktookmybabyaway replied to jesse_ewiak's topic in Current Events
And if things get worse 10 years from now those same people would be bitching about how we should have done something earlier. Paul Harvey always bitches about how everyone says Social Security is going to go bankrupt, and a few days ago I heard Nancy Pelousi tell a group of 25-year olds that SS will be good for another 40 years -- of course, that doesn't mean jack for these kids because by that time they'll be 65... -

Another beating story. This time it involves the old woman. Back in the day I was being a brat for some reason or another and the old woman geared back to give me a slap. I ducked the swing and then had the bright idea to stick out my tongue in an attempt to go "nah nah you missed me." That wasn't smart becuase on the second attempt she connected. And I remember the last time my parents attempted a spanking/slap. The old woman went to swing at me and I grabbed her wrist before it made contact with my face. That was the end of that...
