  1. I have never heard the Detroit River called the "Windsor River" before, but I'll take it.
  2. That's a shame (losing the no hitter). I'm really glad I was able to get home from work around 4:30 to watch this game. As someone who more or less stopped watching baseball by 1995 after following it a great deal as a child (I still followed the standings and went to games with people, but I didn't spend time watching it on TV to see the Tigers lose) I'm really happy to see people excited about baseball in the area. A friend of mine got me back into the game big time recently, so it's been a great season to be a Tiger's fan. It's also funny that early in what I remember being the 2004 season, a friend and I went to Comerica Park and saw Bonderman start a game the Tiger's badly lost. This turnaround is great.
  3. I'm stuck watching this on MLB.com Gameday at work (and not even enhanced Gameday - stupid old work computers), but man am I enjoying this game.
  4. I'm beginning to think this show is not airing. They are taping a show Monday and a show Tuesday - are they really putting 3 shows in a can before one even airs (technically, taping the 3rd while tape 1 airs)? The Fantasy page also lists the show on the 10th as being taped on the 9th. I guess we will find out. Edit: "No taping on Monday. Originally planned, but they added the taping this past Monday and canceled taping in Columbia" - Meltz.
  5. I haven't even received this weeks yet. That pretty much solidifed me not renewing for a 3rd time. The hot news buzz is usually all here by the time I even get to read mine.
  6. In theory. I e-mailed the Fantasy Board to ask why they are allowing this, then e-mailed Meltzer asking what the hell is going on with the taping schedule (due to the Fantasy listing of the 10/10 ECW show being taped on 10/9). Edit: From Meltzer - "No taping on Monday. Originally planned, but they added the taping this past Monday and canceled taping in Columbia" So, the Fantasy schedule is messed up and using old information.
  7. The ECW thing is confusing. It was once said there would an ECW taping after the 3 hour Raw and an ECW taping the night after to air the next week (I thought) because of the supershow. They now have one show in the can, taped Tuesday night. They are apparently taping another Monday, and ANOTHER Tuesday. This is all very strange. Kelly said on WWE.com that it was happening in her hometown of Jacksonville, which is where the taping they are doing this Tuesday is. The Fantasy schedule has the October 10th ECW show as being of Columbia, SC, which is where Raw is on Monday. Either the Fantasy board (and by proxy, WWE.com) are confused about the ECW airdates vs tape dates - and I don't blame them because I am now as well - or what they taped on Tuesday was filler for the crowd, never meant to air. . And no, matches where the loser leaves Raw / is fired / whatever do not count as specialty. Baiscally, unusual stipulations that occur based on who wins or loses a match (or who was the ref during a match, since that question comes up too) while a match is found under standard rules cause it to be scored as a standard match.
  8. Creed stole the episode again. Plot points I liked: - Kevin, in season 2, was gradually shown to enjoy Michael's sense of humour. He now seems to enjoy others unorthodox aspects of Michael as wel, such as "Movie Monday". - While wasting time, Michael (note: second time in a row I typed "Michaels" - damn wrestling forum) only spends 30 minutes on movie Monday, perhaps realizing more would be a true waste of time. The Stamford manager whose name I forget is shown to just waste everyones time with Call of Duty for long periods of time. Also, the call back to the runner of "Assitant Regional Manager" / "Assitant TO the Regional Manager", when Dwight said it to Michael, was awesome.
  9. Is Parnell gone?
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDIc6wqHiwI FFVII on Robot Chicken - not the funniest bit the show has done or anything, but somewhat amusing.
  11. Leaping Lanny Poffo is going boffo! That was funny stuff.
  12. "This season, Todd Grisham has returned to defend his Season 7 WWE Superstar League Championship. However, some of his biggest competition is also back and a newcomer has burst onto the scene as well: Scorpion from Mortal Kombat!" Ok then.... I don't know why I'm doing this, but some possibly helpful hints for week 1: - Despite being taped two days ago and the results being on the net, the ECW show for this Tuesday counts (unless I've messed something up - Fantasy says the ECW show on the 10th is from the same location as Raw on the 9th). - Strip poker is getting specialty points and will probably rank up numerous appearance points for people that cost next to nothing.
  13. 1-888-OOPS-JEW is a fully functional number. Give it a ring!
  14. You know they ARE still in the same match, right? I also didn't really see Lashley and Booker as a "tear down the house" match, or something that could sell a PPV, so this is a good move - though Meltzer hints something is up in his news about it. "We should have an explanation shortly for the change, but when PPV matches are changed at the last minute, it is usually a pretty substantial reason as to why."
  15. Hooray, no more conflict with Corner Gas
  16. Well if they are acknowleding the GM Mode / feuds is "writing storylines" and not being a kayfabed GM booking matches, hopefully you can assign winners now.
  17. I look forward to seeing the MK Plot Guide on GameFAQs once it's revised to include MKA.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra0sWqP3IEg See the awesomeness that is Kano doing the heart rip without, including being animated to hold the heart up, while holding nothing at all!
  19. Hooray, I attained temporary hero status.
  20. I like the open grave pit but the blood in that one seems silly. Eternal Champions CD deaths.
  21. "Our ratings were AMAZING! Ratings are kind of a hard thing to explain. There are two sets of numbers: the total households that watch a show and the number of people in your targeted demographic that watch a show. One of the most important demographic to advertisers is the 18-34 age range…which happens to be our target demographic. So, those are the ratings where we really need to do well. WE KICKED ASS! They projected we would earn a 3.4 rating in our demographic. We earned a 4.7! These are some of our highest ratings yet. So, thanks for telling your friends!"
  22. Two people I know on IRC determined it could not be done on the demo.
  23. PS2 for me. Even if I had a 360, new controls scare me.
  24. Beakman then. Beakman now.
  25. In the 11 months I've had SvR06, I can't say I've ever played a match with the stamina meter on. That trend looks to continue this fall. Hopefully my PS2 can run this game, but I think I will be replacing the one I have soon. Just not sure when.
