I stayed in NYC (and northern NJ) for a month in 2000. Other than being able to see the Twin Towers before their destruction, I can't say I took away anything from the trip other than a confirmation of all my apprehensions about the city. A side note though is one weekend that month I went up to Boston and I enjoyed those two days a lot more than my time in NYC, hence in the Boston vs. NYC battle I'll always side with Boston

The 1998 part came from the fact that, aside from the year all this happened, I have never seen anyone use those kinds of pics on any chat/forum I've been on since.

It's very esoteric, really. In an older chat I went to (where Frigid and I met), a lot of the romantic couples who met on the chat and then in person would take pics of themselves kissing and use those for their avs. I've never understood why, myself.
