Does it matter who wins? If you believe the Divas who've been kicked off, ALL or them (or so it seems) have been told that "they have a job waiting for them regardless!" I have the distressing feeling that no matter who wins, the WWE will probably pull a Tough Enough season one and hire the first couple runner-ups as well.

All the French hate makes me laugh. There would be no United States of America if they hadn't helped us win the Revolutionary War. And they'd all be speaking German now if we hadn't help end WW2, blah blah blah. Do you think history really matters that much today? Arguing that we owe them something, or vice versa, based upon what happened decades ago is a WEAK argument. What they did 225+ years ago should make me simply forgive them for every petty-ass power play they've attempted to pull on us in the past few years? What? They went out of their way to negate every action that we attempted to take through the U.N. (the only place they really still have any semblance of power) regarding Iraq, even going so far as actively campaigning for other countries to rule against us. And you expect that to not receive at least a measure of resentment from individuals here in the States? It's already been explained quite adequately by other posters in this folder about why the U.S. supported Iraq in their war against the Iran. Without sounding cliche, it really was a different world back then and we made deals with devils in order to neutralize those who we viewed as even greater threats. You can question in retrospect whether such associations were the right thing to do, but at the time they may have been the best solution to the problem. Your analogy, though, is INCREDIBLY flawed, because the U.S. eventually STOPPED supporting Saddam, whereas France did not. France (and Chirac, personally) maintained a very friendly relationship with Saddam & his regime, pretty much right up until the war, still supplying him with military hardware even AFTER U.N. sanctions. Even supposing that the U.S. was wrong for supporting Saddam once upon a time, what's France excuse for continuing their relationship far, far after Saddam showed what he was capable of? BTW, their continued support of him kind of goes back to your "they don't deserve the hate!" remark. Iraq is a sovereign nation now. They can elect or place whomever they want to lead them - even former Baathists or Muslim fundamentalists, to our chagrin. We have no control over who they place in their government.

If they do that, they MUST have Neil Patrick Harris on standby to provide commentary. "They.....they're afraid of us!!!"

That reminds me, I need to check the Crush-Yiff-Destroy website to see if any new articles have been posted.

Tom Welling can carry a 200 million dollar major motion picture? Heh. Keep dreaming, fanboy.

Damn you and your logic! DAMN YOU!

I have to agree with Lulu and Rikku from FF X. And definitely Quistis from FF 8. Oh Squall.....couldn't you see that she was really the one for you?.....

This COULD be good, but it won't even come close to the 1992 series.

Susan Estrich has a voice that makes the baby Jesus cry.

I trust Millar far more than I trust tubby.

I havent' seen it, but I find myself intrigued by the commercials and the titular character. "Hey Napoleon, gimme some of your tots!"

I meant version 3, then. Personally, I found Morrison's take on the series the most compelling.

Good. Drake's had it coming for a while now.

And yet again, the best matches - matches that would probably make me come out of my self-imposed Impact exile, at least for them - are the dark matches, which will not air. GLAD to see the obligatory Monty Brown match still took place. Not even the hurricane can stop that!

200 Children and Teachers taken hostage in school

I don't necessarily think it's fair to say that, simply because, unfortunately, this is happening during the political convention. I'm sorry - but the American press is going to focus more upon the RNC, and they would have done the same if this had happened during the DNC, because the conventions and everything associated with them - including the partisan bickering, etc. Because the conventions & everything associated with them, while essentially just big, lame pep rallies for both parties, are newsworthy events of the HIGHEST importance to American audiences. It sounds callous to say this, but honestly, what's happening in Russia right now - as far as American media is concerned - is NOT as important a story as coverage of our election process. While I'm not fan of the media in general, I don't really have a problem with them making it a secondary story to the conventions. -
Do what I do - buy what you're absolutely into, download scans of the rest.

I'm surprised there are no furverts here to submit the obligatory Gadget (from Rescue Rangers) reference.

Anyone else find it ironic and wonderfully amusing that the former Dean love-slave is daring to call another politician as mentally unstable?

It's unfortunate that one of the protestors didn't try to rush onto the Matthews set when Miller was on, because I think Zell may be ripped their throat out if they had. Literally. With his teeth.

That's not fair. I mean look, they blew off a feud they were building up for months! And tons of HI-LARIOUS things happened in the match! At this point, AS, the one thing you should be is used to the disappointments. That doesn't mean they shouldn't still anger you - but you should come to expect them by now. Eh, this week's show looks passable enough for me to watch it.

Haven't had one of these stories in a while

Spending the week with INXS? -=Mike We don't allow cruel & unusual punishment in this country, Mike. [besides - we don't want him around women until we get that little breeding problem taken care of, remember?] -
Trust me - I've read a few issues of the previous Doom Patrol series (I think version 2 - with the only original DP member being Robotman, who led a team consisting of third-string superhero losers), and it was MUCH better than the shit Byrne is cranking out. I shudder to think how he's going to fuck up The Demon, and I'm not even really a big fan of the character.

I've always sort of thought that the direction they were going to go with this is that Stevie is supposed to be stalking her in order to "win back" her love. But that leaves the question of why he has to dress in drag to do it - or maybe someone on the writing staff has some personal fetishes which they're bringing out in their work.
-
Let's be honest - that's what REALLY made you want to "vomit" - NOT this pretext of Rudy bringing up 9/11.

I don't know about the Matthew show incident, as I think too few people will even hear about it....or even if they did, they won't think that much about it. What will destroy the Dems, as you say? If more police get seriously injured by protesters. Cause one did last night. If that happens a couple more times, it's going to be very bad for them.
