  1. It's nice to see that the Democrats still have their heads firmly up their asses as far as running this campaign goes - instead of focusing on domestic issues, which is the (minor) chink in Bush's armor, they go back to this nonsense. But I'm glad they did, because it destroys whatever moral highground they possibly had with the Swift Boat Vets. Sorry, folks - you don't get to cry foul and then turn around and do the same thing in return.
  2. I'll view him as a ratings draw as soon as data is released that shows the ratings spike for the particular quarter hour in which he appears.
  3. It's people like you that frighten me. Should you one day bear children, I have the disturbing impression you'll be naming them something derivative like "Spike" or "Glory".
  4. Farscape completely SMOKES any Whedon show. And Rant is dead on, Whedon's shows are nowhere even close to deserving of being considered 3 of the best shows of all time. I'll give you Buffy, for consideration as one of the best shows of the horror genre of TV shows, but in the broader category of ALL TV shows, no - it's not. I don't really understand what the hell is up with people going ape shit over the Whedon run in "Astonishing X-Men". So far it's only three issues - just halfway through a storyline that COULD be interesting in the end but is being hampered now by a) a fairly lame villain and b) the needless resurrection of a dead character (unnecessary resurrections of characters - a Whedon trademark). I'll be blunt - Whedon's X-Men run is only interesting now because the X-Men are in a poor creative position, wherein the two main x-books are being written by a hack (Chuck Austen) and a has-been (Chris Claremont). I'll have a veritable meltdown if the Whedon fanboys start proclaiming Whedon's work as the best X-writing in years, because nothing he's done so far (and nothing he will do in the future, I suspect) will even come close to the work of recently departed X-scribe Grant Morrison. Christ, this is just awful. The Whedon fanboys are rapidly surpassing the Lucas fanboys in their nauseating hero-worship.
  5. Whoa whoa - did someone actually advocate for Tomko being better than Maven? Like hell he is. Tomko is probably the worst worker they have on the roster, outside of possibly Heidenreich. Josh Matthews? Who lost Tough Enough 1 and wound up being Velocity announcer? HE's better than Tomko in the ring. And if the reasoning falls down to Tomko being better because he's not booked to talk - why then, I'd just have to laugh.
  6. Oh Christ, can you be a little more hysterical? I fucking carry around a "concealed weapon" with me; does that mean I'M up to no good?. I don't know - do you have any murder convictions on you that you'd like to share with the rest of us? This kid's a waste and a lost cause. I'm counting the days until he either kills or seriously injures / maims another human being.
  7. This is going to fucking blow. This makes me hate Singer even more for leaving - he's ROYALLY fucked over the X-franchise now. Someone throw a shitload of cash Raimi's way and see if he can take over the X-franchise as well, because Whedon is NOT the man to ge this done.
  8. Alright, then, I'll qualify: INNOCENT children. I don't give a shit WHAT has been done to the Chechnyans - even assuming they DID have some sort of justification for committing acts of terrorism and violence against Russians, that justification would extend to, at BEST, Russia's military forces. Not innocent civilians, and sure as fuck not GRADE SCHOOL CHILDREN just trying to enjoy their first day of school.
  9. Well, jesse skyrockets up to the top of my list for completely morally reprehensible TSM posters. I'll say this slowly so that he understands: THERE IS NO. JUSTIFICATION. FOR KILLING CHILDREN. EVER. AS IN, EVER. AS IN, EVER. There, I put it in all caps so you couldn't miss the point - but something tells me you already have.
  10. This is all moot. Kerry should realize by now that the War on Terror / national security argument has been completely LOST by him and the Democrats this election season. He's got to hang all of his dwindling hopes on domestic issues.
  11. WarGames took care of that, though. Tim's dad's dead? Nope. During the first act of War Games, though, some of the crime families attacked Tim's school, trying to assassinate his would-be girlfriend (who's father is one of Gotham's crime lords). They unfortunately succeeded. Tim was instrumental, however, in helping Batman & Nightwing apprehend the criminals who had taken the students of the school hostage. By the end of act one, he's come to realize that with the city at war, he simply cannot stand by and do nothing anymore when he has the ability to go out and save lives. So, Robin returns. Oh, and we learn that Stephanie is the one resonsible for STARTING the gang war, although someone else is apparently pulling the strings.
  12. She's busy gettin' it on with Cap over in Captain America & The Falcon.
  13. In my perfect world, Moore would get nominated - only to lose to Mel Gibson for "Passion of the Christ." Wait, who am I kidding? I just want Gibson to win anyway, just to piss people off.
  14. Exactly. And, conversely, just because someone did serve in Vietnam, that doesn't give them carte blanche to say what they will about those who did not.
  15. I'm kind of shocked that Jobber actually made a post essentially stating how much BETTER Hitler is than Bush. Ok, I'm not really shocked at all, just appalled at how low JOTW's stooping these days.
  16. Don't anyone expect him to be involved in writing any major angles. But one thing I do hope to see is for them to allow him to either create & write, or at least have significant input into, small angles for some of the mid and lower card talent. I mean, we just had a thread this weekend about Stevie Richards - Heyman is the guy who could write a decent storyline for someone like him. Now, such a storyline would probably only play through on Heat, but it would probably be good just the same.
  17. The show's nothing compared to what it was. Outside of Wylie, I don't think there are ANY original characters left (unless you count Sherry Stringfield, but she left and then came back).....I watch the show on and off, but I can't even keep track of the new faces and find myself struggling to get interested in them at all. At least they had Thandie Newton guest star a lot last season. Mmmm......Thandie Newton.

    Hero

That's not how I interpreted her death. I always thought that, given the story Dark Cloud had told her, Jen realized that her foolish, childish behavior as apprentice to Jade Fox led to the death of Li Mu Bai, thus ensuring that Li and Yu Shu Lien would never be together, unless you count Bai's spirit haunting Yu until the end of her days. So she threw herself off the mountain, so that her wish of correcting the wrongs she had committed could be fulfilled. Or maybe that's my own romantic interpretation of the ending, because I was much more enamored with the Bai / Lien relationship than I was with the Dark Cloud / Jen love affair.
  19. HA. I wouldn't count on it. You're putting way too much faith in your fellow Americans. Does it even fucking matter? If the end result is that we catch him, does it even really matter if helps Bush or not? I mean, God forbid such an action helps Bush in the polls - I'll just be happy the son of a bitch is finally in our custody. I could give two shits if it helps out the president's approval ratings or not.
  20. What kind of fucking lame-ass excuse are you trying to pull here? That would be like, if you had a beard, me comparing YOU to Osama Bin Laden, simply because you both have facial hair. "Boy, that Paragon, he has a nice thick beard, he's just like Osama bin Laden." Retarded. I don't think you could have found a more jive excuse if you TRIED.
  21. Eh, I'll probably wind up seeing all of these.
  22. I've felt for a long time now that Stevie is somewhat underappreciated. The guy's a solid, if not particularly spectacular, worker, and he's both good on the stick AND has a pretty decent amount of charisma. IMO, he's definitely qualified to be a definite midcarder, instead of simply languishing on Heat (although he's one of the main reasons I even watch Heat). I didn't catch this match, though. It's a shame, I bet it was pretty good.
  23. You know what? If I was Josh Hartnett, I'd probably screw the crazy chick a few times too before I went off looking for my lost girlfriend. Nothing is quite as good as psycho pussy.
  24. Yes, but sadly, for every one of this individual, there are about a thousand of these:
  25. What do you want? Information.... Well, you won't get it! By hook or by crook, WE WILL.
