Non-Bias Attack: A gang of up to 30 black teens
Vyce replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
What a shocking development. -
This reminds me of my favorite Eric Roberts quote. People scream evil like a motherfucker......until it's their own. Then it's cool.

I lost interest in it the moment I saw it didn't involve any tentacle rape. That has to be part of the professional otaku's job description. They have to be able to bring the tentacle rape if they want the position.

Texas Legislators vote to ban gay foster parents
Vyce replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
There is no federal statutory protection for discrimination by employers on the basis of one's sexual orientation. There just isn't. Homosexuals are not considered a protected class (which is more than a little ridiculous, because should you read the actual definition of what a "protected class" really is, they more than qualify for that status), so they don't get any real protection. The only exception, which is really the only protection you're going to get, is if you somehow prove to the court that the discrimination is based upon your gender. Let me explain that. If your employer fires you because you're gay......sorry, you really don't have a cause of action against them for wrongful termination (at least under a disparate treatment / discrimination theory). But if you can somehow show that their anti-homosexual bias also included issues as to your gender - say, for example, you're a gay man, and your supervisor constantly makes discriminatory remarks about your sexual orientation, and uses comments like "where's your purse, fag?" or "shouldn't you be wearing a nice sun dress, queer?". But those kind of arguments are difficult to make and do not often win. The Supreme Court has been showing an increasing trend towards protecting homosexuals, however. And many companies are writing into their anti-discrimination policies clauses which forbid discrimination against homosexuals. But in the forseeable future, gays won't be provided with he same type of employment protection as heteros until Congress either writes a new law or amends some of the current ones to specifically include them as a protected class. It would seem to me that such a law would be worthwhile to pass, instead of a rather cruel and invidious anti-gay marriage amendment or an entirely frivolous bill that would do away with the national weather service. All of that said, RobotJerk is descending into MikeSC levels of noselling in this thread. Dude, face facts, your Nazi analogy sucked, GET OVER IT. -
Privatizing the Weather Forecast Industry

This is maybe the dumbest idea for a bill I've heard in quite some time. Yay, my tax dollars are paying for this idiocy! *waves American flag, hums National Anthem* -
Yes. Batman Begins. Nothing else matters. Oh, I'll probably see many of these films this summer, but honestly, Batman is the one one of them all that I truly give a damn about. Everything else is just gravy.

Sorry to go off topic, but I haven't read Daredevil in a long fucking time. Can you go further in depth on this part? Whoo.....it's a long story, that sort of begins at the point Bendis begins writing the book, many months ago. Kingpin is dethroned by his underlings. How this comes about is one ambitious upstart, Sammy Silke, finds out who Daredevil is, and that Kingpin (and pretty much all of Kingpin's men) knows who 'devil is but hasn't done anything to really out him even after all of these years. Silke uses the fact that Daredevil is still around kicking their asses (when Fisk could have just killed him years ago) as a rallying cry, turns the Kingpin's men against him, and with the help of Fisk's own son, he leads a coup. The severely injure Fisk (even to the point where he's blinded by the attack) but fail to kill him. A struggle breaks out for control over Fisk's territory, and I mentioned this a bit earlier, what with guys like the Owl trying to take over. During this time, Daredevil goes through a lot of turmoil in his personal live. The worse is when Silke eventually gets busted by the authorities, and he tries to make a deal with the feds by revealing Daredevil's identity to them. The ID eventually gets sold to the tabloids, who run with the story. Though Murdock denies the allegations, pretty much everyone disbelieves him and so now the entire world knows that Murdock and Daredevil are the same person. Through the help of his wife, Vanessa, Fisk makes a comeback, and eventually resumes control of his crime empire - but it's only briefly. He sends Bullseye after Daredevil, but Murdock is pretty much unhinged after all of the shit that's been going on with his life, so he kicks Bullseye's ass pretty handily. And then he goes after Fisk, and in a big fight in front of Fisk's men, he absolutely DESTROYS the Kingpin. He doesn't kill him, but he soundly defeats him, and in a moment of supreme rage, he lets everyone know that HE is the new Kingpin of crime - pretty much letting them know that he's on their ass, and that he isn't going to tolerate their shit any longer. It works, too, because while crime still exists in Hell's Kitchen, things are somewhat safer as the thugs are too afraid of Daredevil to really get their hands too dirty.

It's what happens to us when we make mistakes or gross errors in judgment. -
No, AoO. Don't go. Stop. Come back.

These conspiracies are kind of interesting, but nowhere near as interesting as I'd hoped they'd be. I was looking forward to something like, "Vampires are real and the Catholic Church has been secretly funding a war against the undead for centuries." I would so convert to Catholicism if that was true. I'd change my name to Solomon Kane and kick demon ass with a sword.

Way to misunderstand my point, people. Did I say Not allowing gay to be foster parents was the same as the Holocaust? No. Did I mention Hitler? No. Are the restrictions on gays beginning to resemble the Nuremberg Laws? Yes. The comparison to Nazi Germany is definitely valid. No, they really, really don't. Well, unless homosexuals have to sacrifice all of their rights. This is how it starts. .........Loss? Is that you? And why are you posting under RJ's nick? ......are you gimmick posting, Loss? -
*bangs head against wall* No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO.

That sounds suspiciously like fatty talk to me.

This is an absolutely horrific, unconscionable bill. Whoever came up with it should be booted right the hell out of office. Seriously, where the fuck are people's priorities? You got illegals streaming into Texas across the border, with rumors that some of those getting into the country are "OTMs" (Other than Mexicans, i.e. ARAB TERRORISTS), but hell, the real problem is them their gay folks adopting kids. They're the REAL threat to America. Utter bullshit. That said, RJ really blew things a bit out of proportion with the Nazi reference. I hope Jobber or someone comes in here and makes reference to Godwin's law. -
It should be noted, however, that if you seek to employ solution 5, be sure to acquire a retarded man who can then be used as your scapegoat.

I don't dislike either film, but I do think they're VERY overrated. They're decent action flicks, but far from classics, and are something of a disappointment, IMO, considering Tarantino's past work. Oh, and lovecraft, I'm with you on the House on Haunted Hill remake. That's a pretty decent modern horror flick.

I could see myself visiting a strip club with Ripper (not just the two of us, because that would make me feel awkward, what with him being blashort, but as part of a larger group). But it would have to be in Atlanta, because I KNOW that you have some nice strip joints there, and I feel Ripper likely not only knows the best ones but is on a first name basis with the club management. And the talent. Which I could likely parlay into me getting sloppy blowjobs before the night was over with. From someone at least, it doesn't much matter who. I am generally very polite and friendly in real life, if not a bit shy. Once I become more comfortable with your presence / get to know you better, I open up more, and let more of my natural charm shine through. Seriously. I'm quite endearing.

6' and 160 here. We're both well into the normal body weight.

Someone's gotta die soon. I mean.....right? In the next couple episodes. Someone's GOTTA die.

Yes. Still not funny.

In the past few years The Owl has remained a Daredevil villain, and in fact made a major power play to claim Kingpin's control of the New York underworld once Fisk was overthrown by his underlings in a coup. This included moving in on the drug trade by introducing into the market a new narcotic developed from mutant genes which gave the user temporary mutant powers. Daredevil pretty much put the kibosh on all of those plans (leading up to Daredevil becoming the new Kingpin). Owl is still involved in the NYC underworld, and still manufactures and / or distributes the mutant drug, and was most recently seen, I believe, in the pages of Mark Millar's Marvel Knights Spider-Man title, where it was revealed that he's been employing the Black Cat for various jobs. Cloak and Dagger most recently showed up in the pages of the first Runaways series, where they tried to take down that youthful team under the erroneous assumption that some of the teens were actually murderers and had kidnapped one of their members.

No, they're not. I think it's obvious the Jarrett comments are what guaranteed his dismissal. I could see them keeping him around even with all of the other negative shit he said, but to mock Jarrett? Can't have that now can we?

That one's on my list of movie murder scenes that totally make me mark out. Ironhide feebly grasps at Megatron, who looks at him in disgust and points the tip of his cannon right at his head, and says: "Such heroic NONSENSE." Bang. No more Ironhide. Just tremendous.

I don't know which is the least funny thing I've ever read, that Frist caricature or that Tom Tomorrow cartoon.
