Madden, NFL Head Coach, and NCAA Football 2009

They forced me into getting an X-Box 360 by killing Madden and NCAA on the original. -

God, has a normally funny person (Adam Sandler) ever done anything less funny than Little Nicky? -

Ok, that's enough. I decided not to close it, but quit with the attacks. I guess I'll just have to warn those who don't listen. OR...I guess I'll move it and you guys can go crazy. If that's what you want. Ahh c'mon, in no way do I think he's an anti-semite. It was a joke. Jericho is a solid dude, I'm sure of it. -
...Nice.

Now THIS is funny... are you Will Ferrell? Be honest, we wont tell. I'm pretentious because I like a frat comic? I used a thesaurus because I used the word 'context'? Are you serious? Go fuck a picnic table, anti-semite. Look, you're talking to a guy who appreciates all sorts of comedy. It's not like I'm Will Ferrell, Blue Collar, Artie Lang and then FUCK YEEE-OU. I like Eddie Izzard, Peter Sellers, Mitch Hedberg, I like Bill Murray in Groundhog's Day, I like Bill Murray in Rushmore, I like The Comedians of Comedy, Mike Birbiglia and I like Dane Cook. I even like some of Carlos Mencia's stand-up, although his sketch is the worst thing I've seen on TV. I grew up watching Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show, old Who's Line and early nineties SNL. Curb Your Enthusiasm is my favorite television show. Being There is a great movie, and the book isn't bad either. I'm of the opinion that, if something is funny, why not enjoy it? Dumb physical humor (your words, not mine)? There's room for that when it's done well, and I think Ferrell does that, as well as other things, quite well. Simple mind? I think you have a buttressed mind. Also, John Belushi, great comedian... but he's the Notorious B.I.G. of comedy. He's really funny, but he's the guy hipsters have decided it's okay to name-check. I've seen all of his stuff, does anyone want to tell me where the pantheon genius is? The samurai? The mini-donuts? Animal House? -
I havn't liked this season all that much, but I loved last night. The penis mouse didn't do a whole lot for me, but Cartman was great. The collapsable baton during the pick-up game was funny.

Sweet masculine Jesus, the price. HOWEVAH, Walla Walla Onion Rings and Sweet Potato Fries for the win.

Oh fuck you. Your opinion is invalid, you dont live within the context that Ferrell's comedy exists. Go watch Red Dwarf on laserdisc. Will Ferrell is a very funny guy. He's become a slave to his persona, unfortunately. The "blinded by masculinity" guy is played out. His work on SNL (excepting the cheerleader sketch, imo) is the best in years. His work with The Groundlings is legendary within the scene. You've got to be fairly joyless to actively dislike Will Ferrell. I'd be interested to hear exactly who all you haters DO like. -
I lived within walking distance of that place for two years in college. Makes your clothes smell like grease.

Oh that isn't fair. That's like saying Bo Jackson is better than Barry Sanders because Bo Jackson also played baseball. I agree with you, by the way, I love Burgerville. I might even like the Tillamook Cheeseburger more than the Double Double.

Like hell you're taking the Chargers. But if you're taking the Chargers, I'll go with the Bears. Can't imagine AoO having a Xbox 360/PS3. I just picked them because I live in SoCal now. You can have them. I'll take The Lions. The Deeeeeeeeeetroit Lions. -
Why? Why do they keep having these neutral site games? I can maybe understand for big rivalries, but for nonconference games? ONE of those is a nuetral site game, the other two certainly aren't, which makes it even more weird, in my opinion. I mean, Qwest might hold more people than... whatever WSU's home field is called, but Jacksonville isn't holding more than FSU. Weird.

My friend works as a chef there. He's a fellow Zoobomber, so I get hooked up with free food sometimes, although I don't think I'd go there if I were paying. It's like $10 for a sandwich! Now, they've got this bagel with gravlax, nova lox, or whitefish salad served with cream cheese, pickled onions, tomatoes, AND capers for $10.75. That's on their late night menu though, but that's about the only time I go down there- and the Roxy is like, across the street, so what's the point? I haven't been to Kornblatz. I know five or six people who've come down with food poisoning from The Roxy. I still go when I'm in town, but not as much. I've got a soft spot for Sharis on the late-night side. Mediocre food, bad service, no real character, but I've been "ending up" there for years.

They call Portland the "Silicon Forest" for a reason. Nice and chill, although not too cold, but not warm, weather and nice and rainy, and I've rarely heard thunder here. Plus, we're pretty darn accepting of the LGBQT community here, obv.. You know, I grew up there, and seeing as you're from where I'm living now, I could see where you're coming from, but L.A. has its good parts and its bad parts. From my experience though, almost everyone I knew growing up wanted to GTFO the second they grew up, and move somewhere else, mostly because L.A. leaves you with a total sense of a lack of identity and it's pretty depressing to feel that way. I don't know why you went there, man, if I were going to a big city and I was from Portland, I'd go to Seattle, Vancouver, San Fran at worst. L.A. is harsh and unforgiving, and impossible to make friends there. I came down to study with The Groundlings, which is like... an improv/sketch school/theater. I'm halfway through the school now, and unless I make the main company (which is a pretty good meal-ticket, and a group that constantly sends writers and performers to SNL) I'll definitely move back to Portland. From there I might retool and head to San Francisco, New York or Chicago... or possibly even Seattle. I've tried to do comedy in Portland, there just isn't an established market for it. I'd produce and perform in shows over at The Clinton Street Theater, and we'd pull 100 people or so, but that doesnt cut it. LA isn't THAT bad, but the cost of living is bonkers. If you had money, it'd be a great place to live. I, on the other hand, am relatively broke. Thus, I live in South Central, and I am now a bitter racist. Can't argue with the In'n'Out and the weather, though.

Yeah. both teams got screwed on that one. Well, not both. The Blazers didn't.

Whatever you say, AIDS monkey. I lasted through the first 15-20 minutes or so, and barely cracked a smile once. Is there better gags later than that, because the only part I found even remotely funny was when Samberg ran into the woods to dance to lame 80's inspirational rock. THAT was funny. Samberg wanting to fight his step-father and putting on a fake mustache to do so? Not funny. If the movie were carried by Bill Hader it might have had a chance, or any number of the Apatow crew, but Samberg? The dude is just not entertaining. I'm not going to tell you that you have a bad sense of humor, because... well, is there really such a thing? But Hot Rod was fucking great. The dance fight part was one of the least funny things, I think. The friends were great, Bill Hader and the other Lonely Island guy and the dude who is gonna be in The Foot Fist Way... I loved it. "YooHoo shit heads, I found these fireworks in the bathroom, would you like to blow them up?" I don't know, man. I liked it more than I liked Superbad.

Oh come now, Eric, be fair. I don't think I've ever referred to Obama supporters as a cult, except to poke fun at the inherent silliness that is how he's being touted as some sort of liberal Messiah. I mean, c'mon, Eric, there ARE those reports FROM OBAMA SUPPORTERS who said they've fainted at his rallies and said that listening to him speak (live) is something akin to a religious experience. But that's all just in good fun. No one really thinks that there's a cult of Obama, except a cult of personality. The "Paulbots" (aka moRons), on the other hand are really just creepy. I know you pretty well, Eric, and trust me, YOU would be genuinely freaked out by many of them. Especially when they start talking about gun rights. I got into a heated argument on another board with some Paulbots because I wasn't down with their assertion that the Founding Fathers intended for us to be able to own fully-automatic assault rifles (lots of them) without any sort of restriction such as licensing or registration. Most Paulbots belong in the tin-foil hat brigade. Eric, do you see where he's coming from, Eric? Eric. Eric. Eric.

Jesus that's sweet. Well, fuck NIN, but the rest.

Them not saying it and you not hearing it are two different things, man. If you wanna be a concerned citizen, go find Obama's stances, they're definitely out there. It's easy to blame the media, but blame the media and spit in the other and see which opinion like an asshole everyone's got two in a bush, anyway. I mean, kvetch all you want, but don't rely on the 4th estate to make all your choices on the first three. Why are you blaming the media? Obama himself has been pretty vague about his stances on the issues when he's up there giving speeches. I shouldn't have to go to his website to find out how he feels on a particular issue. I wasn't blaming the media, ladyparts, I was saying it was useless to blame the media. More than that, however, I was saying that you shouldn't rely on the media.

You been to Kenny and Zuke's on 11th and Stark yet, VitX? Pretty good deli for Portland. Better than Kornblatz, I think.
