Dragonforce is awesome. They're hillarious and don't take themselves seriously at all (and have insane musical chops). I think that's why certain very vocal groups bash them. Cause if you're a power metal band like that you're clearly supposed to take your self seriously to the point of pretention.

It's in the co-op campaign.

I don't like Interview with the Vampire but I dig the scene at the very end in the car. I also don't like Guns N Roses version of Sympathy for the Devil but I think it works really well in that particular scene.

Had a couple questions here: 1)Was the motion sickness optical illusion thing something people noticed in the past guitar hero games or is it new to this one? I've only played it in short bursts or taking turns at fiends' houses before so I've never had it before. I did play for almost 3 hours yesterday which won't probably happen again. 2)Is there a point to beating it on all difficulty levels? I started playing through on easy but it was really boring so I went up to medium (but I'll definately want to do hard and expert if I ever get good enough). Are there unlockables exlusive to each diffuculty or is it all done through the store?

Even better would be the ability to use photos off of an SD card for a background image. Teh pr0nographic possibilites are endless.

Looks fine on my HDTV. Besides.. graphics aren't that important for this type of game, really. Seriously? I'm playing it on an HDTV (though I don't think it's even in 480p so an HDTV doesn't matter) and it looks just atrociously bad. I mean, I guess it doesn't really matter since you're looking at the fretboard pretty much the whole time, but damn it's got some terrible graphics. Even the menus and stuff are muddy and pixelated. Look at the text that pops up that goes "YOU ROCK" when you beat a song. How the hell do they make TEXT look so shitty? Does it suck as bad on the other systems or is it just the Wii version. I don't really care, the game's fun as hell though. The Wii version is 480p. It's been reported pretty much everywhere and even my TV's (Samsung with Game Mode) signal display states 480p. I think the graphics look fine. Looks a few steps up from the PS2 version which is what I was expecting. Either have shitty TVs or you set your expectations too high. Seriously? I think it looks much worse than the PS2 Guitar Hero 2. It's not the TV since Zelda and other Wii games look great on it. But whatever, like I said it doesn't matter one bit. I also go the weird optical illusion after playing for a couple hours where everything in real life looked like it was scrolling up. Made me kinda sick for a little bit too.

Ah yes, Crazy Train, so much potential that just goes to shit after about 30 seconds.

Yeah after posting that I got to thinking and concluded that 'We Built This City' has spent enough time in the Zeitgeist as Worst Song Ever that it know has that as a redeeming quality. Plus I youtubed it and know I can't get it out of my head again. So I guess maybe it's gone far enough to be 'So bad it's actually awesome'... I can never think of 'We Built This City' as 'goofy' however since it was intended to be serious and a cry against 80s Corporate Rock when it was actually the absolute epitome of 80s Corporate Rock. I pretty much agree with everything on this list. I'd forgotten about 'Party All the Time'.

Like anyone's ever going to top 'We Built This City' as Worst Song Ever.

Fuck that's like a story you'd expect to see out of Iran or someplace like that.

Funny actually, I've always said that "Take Me Out" jacked "Trampled Underfoot" since that song came out. And then a little while ago some friends had a free ticket to a Finger 11 and Sum 41 concert (let it be known that I will go see ANY concert if it's free) so I went along and Finger 11 played "Paralyzer" which they segued into "Take me Out" and THEN segued that into "Trampled Underfoot" and yes, all 3 songs are the same.

Yeah, you gotta look around. You really shouldn't be spending much more than $30 on SD cards (for 2Gig). http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...acture=Kingston

Martial 5/4 sections. (EDIT: I used "martial" in the sense of "marching" and "warlike," but six minutes later I remembered that "Mars, the Bringer of War" by Holst is in 5/4. Well hey.) Well played sir. When I saw this thread reappear I thought the bump was due to Zeppelin finally putting their stuff up for digital distribution. Almost didn't think Page would let it happen. But hey, who doesn't love insane amounts of money? As for IV I agree that When the Levee Breaks is a good album opener, but the ending of that song just begs to cap off a record in my opinion. Also, I've probably said it before around here, but I always found it weird listening to IV on CD and having Stairway go right into the opening of Misty Mountain Hop. Just doesn't sound right.

If Team Fortress 2 is unbalanced then you're not playing as a team.

I always thought that Kid Rock song fit it pretty well, but you're right 'Welcome to the Jungle' would have been way way better.

Half Life 1 is definitely worth playing even if the graphics are 1998 level. Although if I'm not mistaken you can get a source engine version off of Steam. And I'll look into that steam ID not working.

Oh man, Portal is such a blast. Short though so far (I got to 15/19 in about 40 minutes), but I think the 'challenge levels' should add to that. Screwing around with some jumps and infinite loops made me feel pretty dizzy, which is cool. Can you imagine combining the portal gun with the gravity gun and conventional weapons in a Half Life combat situation? I think the room was one of the previous subjects . It was pretty creepy in there though. Valve does atmosphere like no one else. Can't wait to play HL2 Episode 2. My Steam ID is MonsterXXXL so add it up, haven't had time to play TF2 in a while though, but I'll get back in to it soon.

Whoa there was a lot of big Wii news today. So it's getting the full FF:Crystal Chronicals game as well as the Wii Ware spinoff too right? It's good to see big developers jumping on that. Also loving the fact that you can use the Wii to download/transfer DS demos too.

I just loved Ryan's reaction when he walked into the conference room and saw Michael's pictures he put up. "Hey why's everybody sit.... oh no" What was the thing that Ryan said to the camera at the very end? I had the TV muted and didn't hear it.
-
Yeah but people order stuff off of Netflix and that comes through the mail right? Something that could just sit and download over night or over a couple days and let you know when it's ready would be viable. Of course there's thechnical hurdles there, like bandwidth costs for the provider and such, but I think it may be closer than people think.
-
But then how would Square sell you 50 more copies of Final Fantasy 1-6 if you could just pay once to get the original? Oh right, by not releasing any over the virtual console. But yeah, I've got a clamorin' for some classic Gameboy games that I can't play on my DS so Nintendo should get on this.

Has anyone heard about this yet. Personally this is why I wouldn't buy a Blu Ray player. Bullshit DRM and copy protection that the pirates get around with no trouble anyways. Now that they're starting to encrypt with BD+ expect more of these problems. Firmware updates on a DVD player for god's sake. Also, most of the comparisons that I read put HD-DVD at higher image quality due to a better video codec (just Google "hd dvd blu ray image quality"). Although things may have changed more recently than since I cared to look into it. If I were a betting man, I'd put it down on both of these formats failing. By the time high def TVs get enough market penetration to make them potentially successful then Holographic Versatile Disc (HVD) may have hit. Or downloading (possibly high def) movies to a media PC type device will be viable. I think the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray tech may just be the next laser disk.

Yeah, iPod firmware gets updated all the time too. When I plug in my iPod nano into the PC iTunes sometimes pops up the 'Update your firmware' dialog.
