  1. ^^^^ You know the deal. Michael Craven Promo: This seemed eerily reminiscent of the Xstasy promo at Ashes 2 Ashes. Wildchild vs. Grappler: Cute little promo to start the match off. I love Grap's oldschool character, complete with manager who calls people "Daddy." I was very impressed with the match, particularly the use of Matheson. I also like the continued development of WC's style and seeing it regress back to the original crowd-pleasing style marked by the FSP finish. Stryke vs. Linchpin: I find the Linchpin character, particularly his interaction with the fans. He's a bad person, but they love him. I also love the Diamond Cutter-ness of the Shining Wizard, being built as something that can be hit out of anywhere. Ejiro Fasaki vs. Ichiban Onita: "Vicious" means "vicious." "Viscous" means "thick." Just fyi. Fine little match. I would have liked it a little more if you focused on Annie's ribs and back, since that's the epic injury she's worked into her character, but the match was very well put together. I applaud you. More later.
  2. And remember, kids, Ejiro just beat Annie tonight in a no-DQ match. I insist you make reference.
  3. Because you were out of gin?
  4. Heyyyyyyyyyyy! *thumbs up*
  5. I don't mind if he's a gimmick. He helps fulfill my recommended daily allowance for futile anger most days. "GOD DAMN IT JUST ASK HER OUT!" That sort of thing.
  6. So... the show won't be going up last night, then?
  7. It's a product of the "shit or get off the pot" sentiment. So shit or get off the pot.
  8. You're overrationalizing. If you don't make your move tomorrow, go home and cut off your testicles to avoid turning the thread into a further parody of itself.

    Coffee

My cousin went on his honeymoon in Hawaii and sent me a half-pound of a 10% Kona blend. It was very nice.
  10. One fat 14-year-old cat named Miss Kitty. My father named her when I got her for my 7th birthday, apparently after a character on Gunsmoke.
  11. Let me just give mad fucking props to Todd for writing one of the better matches I've seen in terms of internal plot and playing up what happened on the last show. Perhaps the characters weren't as prominent, but the match was psychologically ALL THERE. Excellent job.
  12. Yeah, I TOTALLY phoned it in. You'll get no arguments from me there.
  13. Oldschoolers: I'm guessing that Sean Casey can hurt you in Orange Julius. He can hurt you in the Gap. I really enjoyed this promo. Good work.

I bet there's a thread where people link to this sort of thing.
  15. "If it weren't for my horse, I never would have spent that year in college. I'll repeat that. If it weren't for my horse... giddy-up, giddy-up... I wouldn't have spent that year in college... a degree-granting institution. DON'T think about that too long, or BLOOD'll shoot out your nose."
  16. Not that I wrote anything for the show. I was sick, and Erek, despite having prior obligations, was kind enough to cover for me. He had a storyline finish picked out the day it was booked, so that worked nicely, but he really did a lot of coverage.
  17. I shouldn't have phoned it in, sadly. I should have saved my promos, beautiful in their bizarrity and irrelevance, for the finals.
  18. I'm having a Bombay Sapphire gibson with a tipsy onion.
  19. Oooh, Cornette. Good call, Bionic. I'd have to vote for Cornette's mama, too.
  20. Owen hart, although that'll trigger the knee-jerk reactions of "BUT HE BROKE AUSTIN'S NECK!" Note that those only come up when someone mentions that Owen was smarkproof.
  21. Smoked my first home-roller yesterday. I was out, and a friend of mine offered me one after class. Once I got over the fact that there was no filter and there was nothing to really shape my mouth around, it was actually really good. I have to do some pricing and see if it's worth starting to roll my own.
  22. I'll assume that's "first man to put his opponent through a table" etc.
  23. We have a winner.
  24. Just fyi, and I don't have a cite for this handy because I read it in this morning's Buffalo NEWS (so it was probably of Knight-Ridder or AP), there was specific language in the opinion referring to marriage as a union of two "to the exclusion of all others." While that does end up being circular - Polygamy is banned because we banned the marriage of someone to more than one person - it does present a safeguard in the state law. More broadly, and here I'm relying entirely on the news article, the opinion seemed to be reasoned on the basis of encouraging committed unions between people and the resulting families, rather than "transient" ones. Setting aside all debate about whether a gay civil union can constitute a family in the same way that a heterosexual civil union can (the court obviously thinks it can), the opinion seems to say that only unions between two people encourage that sort of commitment.
  25. Why, Stevie, of course.
