BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 There is a rumor going around Titan Towers that Pete Gas, former Mean Street Posse member, called his old friend Shane McMahon and told him he was getting the itch to get back into the business. As the story goes, Shane told him that Stephanie has complete control on the creative end now and he doesn't, so there probably wasn't much he could do. A number of people in the company have told me that Shane has largely nothing to do with the creative end of the company. 1wrestling.com

Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted August 27, 2003 Pete Gas?!?! Wasn't he the short pudgy one of the group that couldn't wrestle a good match to save his life?? WAIT..... he is a non wrestler, WWE will sign him and have him feud with Howard Finkel on RAW leading up to a featured match at Survivor Series. Sounds stupid but with the ways things are now it's not too far fetched.
Guest God Junior Report post Posted August 27, 2003 "A number of people in the company have told me that Shane has largely nothing to do with the creative end of the company." Does this mean we have to hate a different McMahon for Shane's main event push?

Does this mean we have to hate a different McMahon for Shane's main event push? Just a little I'd say. I'd still hate it as Shane should have been there for a match to just bump for Kane and be done with it.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 This is better than Coach turning heel...sure, he can't wrestle, but it's FUN FUN FUN! A Posse reunion on Raw would do no harm, because the people who'd hate it are beyond caring anyway.

Guest Korrosive Report post Posted August 27, 2003 Pete Gas desperately needs to come back just so he can run down during the 2004 Royal Rumble and smoke his face on the middle rope.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 I recall the two members of the Mean Street Posse who were Shane's actual friends, Pete Gas & Rodney, going to OVW and actually becoming pretty passable workers compared to what they once were. But the word is they quit wrestling when they were released from WWE so all that ability has probably rusted away.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 I'd also mark for a Posse reunion. If Gas wants to get back in wrestling, he should work some indy shows before he even thinks about returning to the WWE. I also heard about he and Rodney becoming decent enough workers, and I'd love to see them back in some sort of comedy jobber role.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 I loved they Posse. They weren't great workers, but way more entertaining then the shit we're getting now.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 What happened to Joey Abs/Venom? Probably let go the same time as the other two. I'm sure Vince didn't know the difference that he was actually a wrestler unlike the other two

I don't remember reaidng about his release, but I guess he was. he gotten a release a year or so ago, he runs a Self defense school in Pennsylvania. I just read last week that him and Ken Shamrock are going into business together. They're selling martial arts clothes. After WWF, I heard Blackman went into a career for stunts or something. Back on topic, I would love to see a Posse reunion of Shane, Pete Gas, & Rodney... no Joey Abs, though.

He was definitely solid in OMEGA. -=Mike

Commish HBK started booking all these Union vs. Corporation matches, and ended up booking Patterson & Brisco vs. Rodney & Pete Gas. IIRC, Brisco & Patterson won that one. The next week, during a rematch, Joey Abs debuted and injured both Patterson & Brisco, who would finally return at Summerslam during the Test-Shane match. Adam 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 I still laugh at Foleys jokes about the Posse in 'Foley is Good' and how they told him to 'hit us really hard with the chair' when they took their first chairshots.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 Mean Street Posse had such cool music. It was like, "doo, da-WANK, a do wicka-wicka WOW chicka doo, da-WANK, a do wicka-wicka WOW chicka" It sounded so definitive for them (something entrance music has lost along the years) but I can't figure out why.
