BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Jimmy Yang has signed to terms with WWE. I am pretty sure it was a developmental deal. Yang worked the WWE taping on September 1 against Tommy Dreamer in a bout that aired on the 9/7 edition of Heat. Apparently, he made a good impression on the company. 1wrestling.com
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Well they had him before..funny how he got resigned for making a good impression. That's proof they don't watch the people they bring in.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Can't remember this guy? Was he one of the cruisers near the end of wcw?
Silence 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Damn, WWE has snabbed another indy wrestler just so they can misuse him and have him conform to the WWE style just like everyone else. Oh well, at least they don't have Bryan Danielson, Low-Ki, AJ Styles, or Christopher Daniels yet.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Guess we have a new Raw Number 1 announcer. I think I would have preferred him in TNA, where he would be able to show off his workrate.
Silence 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Guess we have a new Raw Number 1 announcer. I think I would have preferred him in TNA, where he would be able to show off his workrate. Don't you mean MLW or ROH? As long as Russo's in TNA, any match with a good wrestler in it is hit-or-miss depending on how long it goes/how Russo books the match. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Yang fucked himself over with TNA. He refused to sign a one-night contract, so that he could appear on PPV, and they said "bye."
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 He had a good match in MLW a few weeks back.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Can't remember this guy? Was he one of the cruisers near the end of wcw? Yep. Member of Jung Dragons (along w/ Knoble & Kaz Hayashi). Yang had the longer hair. Finisher was the "Yang Time", a twisting move off the top rope. Some info
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Question. Wasn't he one of the Young Dragons? Much of the end of WCW is a blur to me. And I was watching it.
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 "Uh, Vince you already had him signed like 2 and a half years ago."
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Hopefully he'll go to SD were he can have go matches with Rey and co. before getting sent down to Velocity.
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Hopefully the Number 1 announcer thing doesn't go down, because Yang's from Georgia- he speaks perfect English.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 As Spiff said, he was one of the Jung Dragons, and then moved onto TNA as 1/3 of the Flying Elvises team with Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada. He's also been getting great reviews for his work in MLW (recently against Sonjay Dutt) but I haven't been able to see any of that. It's a good addition to the roster, but as always, I wonder exactly how they use him. They tend to cut the cruisers off at the legs and prevent any highspot insanity from taking place. Guest BDC Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Just so you know, I think he used the same sky twister press that Blitzkrieg did.
Guest SethforPrez840 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Yang Time was a twisting moonsault I believe.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted September 26, 2003 His match with Dreamer was pretty good for Heat, he put over Dreamers DDT nicely with the "RVD-sell" and even went for the Yang Time, but missed. I'll be fine if he's a regular on Velocity.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 The more useful wrestlers, the better. He'll eventually make his way to the Smackdown lowercard. Eventually.

{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Any chance Yang is gonna be an attempt to sign a Rey clone, like what they thought they were getting with Ultimo?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Maybe we can have Funakism vs. Mattitude with Yang being one of Funaki's FM'ers... that is to say, Funakism Master.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Jimmy Yang vs. Jamie Noble, Jimmy Yang vs. Rey Mysterio, Jimmy Yang vs. Ultimo Dragon, and Jimmy Yang vs. Tajiri would all be great.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Cool, the more ex WCWers the better. I think......
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 So, they fucked up Ultimo right after his debut. Seems like they've set the bar pretty high this time, so the question seems to be: Can the WWE fuck up Yang even BEFORE his debut?
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Well I am happy that he will be making a good living now, but depressed and feeling sorry for him that his WRESTLING days are over.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Yeah I'm sure his Family feels the same way... DAMN DADDY FOR MAKING A LIVING! DAMN HIM! But yeah this either means we got MORE goodness for the CW level or Spanky or Funaki got a Velocity partner. Hell, At this rate They could revive the CW Tag Titles at this point...
