Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted October 20, 2003 1> One of my personal favorites that I'll always recall was: Mick Foley to turn heel after winning the title at WM 2000, signaling the returning of Dude Love 2. Shane McMahon may be Vince Russo's "surprise" at GAB 00 (?) Leaving millions behind so he can take over booking for a dying promotion. 3. Bret Hart to lead the INvasion . Classic. Add more... Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted October 20, 2003 this one is horrible but it was at the bottom of some wrestling news site as one of those fake links: Owen Hart death a work! Returning tonight on Raw!
Highland 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 That is just tasteless. Was it a Matt Boone link?
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Millions thought Owen's death was just a huge media stunt performed by Vince to generate added interest in the WWF. In fact, I've heard that many in the arena in Kansas thought it was a practical joke when they first saw it. What's sad is Vince WOULD do something like that to generate interest. Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 I always used to love the Shawn Michaels is returning rumours. It would always get the Shawn Michaels fans all pumped up, then he wouldn't come back. When he finally did, I felt kind of sad for all those "newzboard" writers because they lost on their most common baseless rumours. While not really a rumour, per se, I always loved it when the NWO would return. Every time they came back, a bunch of nWoites would suddenly come out of the woodwork and proclaim that wrestling(or WCW) is saved because the NWO is back! During the times of NWO Silver, some were even proclaiming that it would be the end of the WWF because the NWO will crush them in the ratings and Vince should fold up shop now to spare himself the embarrassment. Seemingly overnight, the boards I posted on would be full of them. Of course, once the NWO inevitably failed, they usually vanished as quickly as they came. It makes me almost sad that Vince will never bring the angle back, as I always laughed inside when the nwoites dispersed after the NWO's inevitable failure. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2003 I remember one....I think that this one was said in 2000. It was the day of the Terri Invitational Ladder match between the Hardyz and Edge/Christian. I still remember the site: wrestlebay.com They reported that Matt Hardy was killed in a car accident. He crashed into a tree. WWF was to cancel the match. Then, I saw the ladder match....
