B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 1: Jagged Little Pill - - Alanis Morissette Now that one shocks me. I figured that Nevermind would easily be #1, seeing as how the kids vote and MTV will throw their weight around for their lists. Where's the Michael Jackson? Where's PRINCE? This is the 22 Greatest CD's of the Last 22 Years, right?
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 That list is perfect for its target audience.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Forgot to ask. What was MTV's criteria, (haha -- like there's any) for picking these albums?...
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Well, when they did the 22 greatest bands list, there were a bunch of bands listed, and the kids voted. I'd assume that's how this most recent list was done as well.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Linkin Park over Radiohead? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Not as shitty as most of their lists
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Out of the most recent lists, this one was the least offensive to me. Pearl Jam got some respect, which is a rare thing these days. I don't agree with Linkin Park over Radiohead either, but I have a feeling that a few years down the road we'll still see Radiohead on these lists while Linkin Park will have become a punchline. ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Hey, Appetite for Destruction and the Joshua Tree both get some major love from MTV and a Canadian artist (although I don't like her music) gets first place. This list isn't so bad by me. Although I though that everyone had forgotten Alanis Morisette.
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I'm surprised there was no 2Pac on there. MTV usually pimps the shit out of him.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 That was actually considerably less stupid than I was expecting it to be.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 From what I've heard, MTV put together a list of choices and let the people that visited the web page vote on their favorites. Which would explain why some random choices got so much love (e.g. Alanis or those tools in Linkin Park). But I'm surprised that MTV didn't just ignore the results and continue the verbal fellatio that they've historically been giving to Eminmen and Nirvana. Guest Skironox Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I knew this list would suck coming in here, but surprise, it doesn't suck as much as I think it would. Surprises me theres no Britney or Blink 182 or crap like that, considering who made the list.
spiny norman 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 I'm suprised that Born In The USA got in there. Look at the rest of the albums on the list, it seems very out of place. There are a lot of artists missing. REM?

godthedog 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2003 i am AMAZED that 'paul's boutique' made that list. i was actually watching some of this on tv over the weekend (i switched it on about the time rage was being showcased), & thought it was supposed to be some kind of quasi-legitimate list. when i saw 'paul's boutique' at number 11 i was pretty excited. then when i saw number 10, my heart sank. i blame myself for being stupid enough to actually start having faith in an mtv list. and after i got over it, it was pretty funny seeing all these people talk about how 'hybrid theory' was cool and different because it mixed rock and hip-hop, when they were talking about rage half an hour ago.
