Guest NitroJMS Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 These are supposed to be out next year around WM XX. There's also "classic" versions of Taker, Michaels, and HHH. You gotta wonder how they got the rights to do Bret and Warrior.
Steviekick Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 There's already a thread about this in the toys folder, but these figures rock. I can't wait to get a hold of the Bret one.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 The best ones are the HBK and Warrior ones. The Old-School 'Taker looks fucking deformed, and the Old-School Hunter's head is too small.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Why does Andre look like Vitali Klitschko?
SamoaRowe Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Warrior, Andre, and Bret look like must haves
King Cucaracha Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 That Andre one is just about the same as Big Show's figure. The Warrior and HBK ones look great though.
Guest JMA Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Bah. I hate the Ultimate Warrior. Doesn't he hate Vince?
Guest Frank Grimes Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 That actually raises a decent point. How does WWE have the rights to put out a Warrior figure? I mean releasing a DVD featuring a match he's in is one thing, but his own figure is another. Also, since each of these come with belts, they should give the Warrior figure 2 belts since he's in his WM6 attire/paint.
Enigma Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Is that the WWF logo on the Triple H belt?
Guest Frank Grimes Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 No. It's WWE there's just something near the logo that makes it look more like WWF.
Jobber of the Week Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 All of them but Shawn looks like crap. Bret looks like Ozzy on steroids for some reason. I didn't even recognize the HHH one since it looks like it could be anybody (I had to look at the filename to see who it was.)
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 They didn't make Andre ripped, I'm impressed.

Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I would love to get one of Andre and Bret... those look like great figures Would love to have the Undertaker one as well...

Good point, I forgot all about WWF/E owning the "Ultimate Warrior" copyright. But they don't own the rights to Bret Hart or the Hitman gimmick, so I suppose that means Bret's given his OK to having a figure made of him.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Why do Bret Hart figures always look like Howard Stern?
Guest deadbeater Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Bret owns his own gimmick. He probably licensed it to WWE.
Adam Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I really like the HBK and Bret ones. Pity they probably wont be released here though.
Bruiser Chong Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 They didn't make Andre ripped, I'm impressed. That's because they didn't make the Big Show figure ripped, which is exactly what they used for this figure, sans the head. The UW figure is the only one that looks great, as the rest have too many flaws to overlook. The Bret figure's pose is cool, but he looks awkward, I don't remember Andre ever having black lips or wearing wristbands and kneepads, HHH never had that version of the IC title while using the snob gimmick (not to mention the pinhead), plus he was never ripped like that back then, Taker's figure could've been good but they couldn't even get the basics of his outfit right, and while Shawn's figure is cool, he has so many figures out already that this just feels like oversaturation. You can say I'm nitpicking but I was excited for this line, and aside from one figure, they dropped the ball. Hopefully future ones will be better.
Papacita Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Eh...those are just the prototype, so they'll probably end up fixing them up a bit before they're actually released...hopefully. I had gotten out of collecting figures, but I might pick up a Shawn or a Warrior when those are released.
Guest CronoT Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 The best ones are the HBK and Warrior ones. The Old-School 'Taker looks fucking deformed, and the Old-School Hunter's head is too small. Don't you mean his nose?
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 LOL LMAO OMG LOL BRB TTYL ROFL ...no, I mean his head. Ever seen the movie Puppet Master? There's a puppet named Pinhead, and THAT is what this old-school Hunter figure reminds me of.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 You know, for a moment, I looked at the old school Helmsley figure picture...and I thought it was a William Regal figure. Until I saw the tights that the figure was wearing, then I put 2 and 2 together.
pochorenella Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Bret owns his own gimmick. He probably licensed it to WWE I read somewhere that Bret's relationship with WWE/Vince was very good at this point so it makes sense he allowed them the rights to release the action figure. If you ask me, this bodes well for the eternally-rumored Bret Hart DVD release in the future as well, if the Hitman and Vince continue on these good terms.
tpww7 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Bret Hart without the glasses looks too much like Trent Acid.
Just call me Dan Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 The mint on card pictures have been released and Bret's face looks much better. They got lazy and left Andre with 2 straps, but added a robe to HHH which improves that figure. Warrior and shawn are pretty much exactly as pictured, and, unfortunately, so is Taker. Pretty cool though. Didn't Warrior just show up in WCW as "Warrior"? I mean it is his LEGAL name. WWE may own the rights to the "Ultimate Warrior".
Detective Comics Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Bret Hart without the glasses looks too much like Trent Acid. Someone post side by side pictures, I really don't see the resemblance.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Didn't Warrior just show up in WCW as "Warrior"? I mean it is his LEGAL name. WWE may own the rights to the "Ultimate Warrior". who could forget the oWn (One Warrior Nation)?
Guest Coffey Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I'll get the HBK figure. The rest look like trash. At least to me they do.
