1234-5678 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 My Mom got 4 tickets to the Flyers game tonight as a Christmas present from her boss, and they're in a Club Box, I think. What kind of pampering should I expect?
Mik Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Not sure about hockey, I had luxury box tickets to see the Orioles this summer. It was nice. The halls were spotless and airconditioned (a far cry from Eutaw St.) and there was our very own Boog's Barbeque, with cheaper prices. It was sweet. Plus, I saw Cal Ripken Jr. in the broadcast booth.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I was in the Comcast box for a 76ers/Celtics game a few years ago. Didn't get any free food/stuff, but there was a bar in the box where you could order food & drinks.
sfaJack Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I sat in the Club level at Minute Maid Park last year. A buddy of mine at work got his dad's season tickets, so we went. From what I could tell, the only real difference from the "regular" seats is that the staff would bring your food/drink to your seat, you could go inside the club area and sit at the bar and watch the game, and the food selection seemed to be a bit wider up there. The thing I liked the most though was the seats. Padded, unlike the lower "regular" levels, and a great view. The seats we had were first row, so we were able to kick back, put our feet up on the railing and just relax. The Cubs won the game as well, 5-3, which sealed that game as my favorite visit to Minute Maid thus far. Carlos F'n Zambrano blasted a 2-run homer off Wade Miller in the seventh to tie it at 3 and then ex-Astro Moises Alou rocked Octavio Dotel in the 8th for another 2-run shot. Only the second time I've actually seen the Cubs beat the Astros live, out of about 15 games.

What kind of pampering should I expect? It varies with each arena. As it's a corporate box, it's up to the company to decide whether you get the freebies or not. If they give it to you, expect finger foods, beverages, and maybe even a program.
C Dubya 04 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I sat in the club box seats for a Sixers game. There wasn't much pampering, but if you're a drinker, there is a bar right in the "box" part. The seats are then down in front of the box. They're good seats too.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I sit with all the slobs so I can't tell you what to expect...

Not cheap. I think that they're the same as at the regular places on the concourse, but on the plus side, you don't have to wait or miss any of the game. I think that in some boxes they have food out as well. Cheesesteaks and such for free.

I also just found out a friend of mine will have box seats for the 76ers tomorrow night. WHOOOOOOOOO!
The Czech Republic Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Great, $7.00 beers. Oh well, I'll be back with a full drunken report later.........and I don't even like hockey. Ah screw you. I need to get a box at the United Center...now those must be REALLY nice.
jimmy no nose Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I've been to luxury boxes several different times, my mom used to work for a big time law firm and they had boxes everywhere. I used to go to WWF shows at the Mellon Arena all the time and they'd always have tons cans of soda and snacks like chips and pretzels and stuff for free. Also there was a guy who was always there who'd order chicken and pizza and let everyone else eat it, I'm sure he paid a lot of money for it though. At the Steelers games at old Three Rivers Stadium they always had drinks and snacks, but they also had other foods too. They usually had some sandwiches and hoagies and stuff in there for free and some times there would be other small items.

RepoMan Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I've been in the luxery boxes at a AAA baseball Rochester Red Wings game and got feer food and beer. I've been in the club seats for the Buffalo Bills and only got an exclusive food court with jacked up prices. Having a privite rest room was nice though.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 To quote Ian Gomez from the Drew Carey Show, "you can pee with the door open and its like there's 50,000 people all cheering for you.
1234-5678 Posted December 17, 2003 Author Report Posted December 17, 2003 Club boxes are poop. They're just basically for lazy people who don't want to walk 30 feet to the nearest stand to get their overpriced pizza, hot dogs or beer. It was a lot less then I expected, but oh well, it was free. Now, the Luxury boxes are sweet I hear. Free booze and free food, so it should be awesome.
Guest bort Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I have never had Club boxes but last season I got 1st row tickets to a leafs game and i noticed some diffrences from gold and sliver seating areas, there were people who brought us menus and there was a Platnium club area with cleaner bathrooms a bar and sushi stand....
Dr. Tom Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 I've been in both a few times, and they're definitely nice. I went to an Orioles game last year where we had the entire Jim Palmer Party Suite to ourselves. It was awesome... free CRAB CAKES~! (which were delicious), free beer, luxury box seats for the game... the whole thing was tremendous. ANd the best part of it was that I didn't have to pay one cent for anything.
King Kamala Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 I was in a luxury box for a AA game, does that count? We got free pizza, chips, popcorn, soda and beer and had a big screen TV we could watch all the big league games on.
