The Dames 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2004 Well, last week, I was sick as a dog but I still placed a call to inquire about the sales position I spoke of in the "I'm leaving NYC" thread a few weeks back. So, I spoke to the woman from Human Resources over the phone and she said..."can you come in tomorrow?" I'm like..."Tomorrow!?" Anyway, I cut my hair and took the Metro North up there and packed for a few days incase I had to stay for a few. I took an assessment test in the beginning of the week and was asked back to interview the next day. Normally, the interview comes a few weeks after the assessment because they're reviewing a lot of them. After that, you don't normally find out if you have the job until maybe a week or so later. Well, since I'm from out of state, I took the interview the next day and was officially hired 2 hours later. I must have really impressed them. So, as of February 16th, I'm an employee of The Hartford, an insurance company in CT. That's when it really hit me...I'm moving out to another state alone. Holy shit! My last day in NYC as a resident will be Valentine's Day, Feb 14th, 2004. How crazy is THAT? Dames Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Here's hoping the move goes well and that you do fine in the new place/job! Edit: The Valentine's Day is kinda crazy now that I think more about it. But only if you had a girl-friend. And the anniversary of you getting together is on Feb 14th. And of course, if she wanted to give you a special anniversary/leaving gift (even though she's coming with you). Other than that, it's ok. Having already done a move to a whole new city by myself, its not so bad if you force yourself to get out on the weekend... at least you'll be less likely to be mugged...
