Clint Ruin/Lydia Lunch EP Don't Fear the Reaper. I was able to get myself a copy for fifteen bucks, which is good, I've seen them go for as much as fifty. Has covers of the title and "Why Don't We Do It In the Road?" as well as two originals. Brilliant stuff, although the titular cover was a bit more straightforward than I expected. No loss though, I love that song.

"We're A Happy Family: A Tribute To The Ramones" by various artists- saw it for £3 and was enticed by a Marilyn Manson cover of "The KKK Took My Baby Away", which isn't as interesting as it sounds. Features some truly awful renditions of great songs. The U2 cover of "Beat On The Brat" is especially horrendous, although Pete Yorn's "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" is surprisingly good

"This Island" by Le Tigre- really liking this on the first few listens...more polished than previous efforts, but still with the slightly shambolic charm that makes them so appealing

"Missing You: The Collection" by Chris De Burgh- a bargain at just £4. "Lady In Red" is strangely absent, but "Spanish Train" is such a great song.

You takes your chances there. Dude's covers are wildly eratic. They tend to be either the best thing I've ever heard or absolute shit.

Just picked up Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze. Not as good as Songs for the Deaf, but still some good tracks on there, like 'The Blood is Love', 'I Never Came' and 'Tangled up in Plaid', plus some other real solid rock tracks like 'Skin on Skin'.

Update - As I already knew, Fun House is fuckin' A. Suicide is also. I like Cave's new ones, but there's probably a couple of duff tracks he could have jettisoned and just released one CD. Wouldn't have had the nifty hessian packaging though! And The Cramps are The Cramps. Hell yeah.

Well since you're the first one I've seen who's gotten it and you're one of the five or six people on the boards that I actively distinguish from the others... I will ask the inevitable question: how is it?

"The Best Of" by the B-52's

"Mermaid Avenue II" by Billy Bragg and Wilco (finally opted to buy it in spite of my dislike of Bragg's voice, only to find my favourite song on the album-All You Fascists-is sung by Billy. Rest of the album is really good too, especially the Natalie Merchant sung track)

Well, I like it alot. Is Beck's latest as good as Odelay! or Mellow Gold? It's hard to say, as I haven't listened to it enough. I've listened to it twice so far, and I liked it just about all the way through. Mr. Hansen always brings the groove, and the first track, also the albums's lead single (though I forget the name at this moment) definitely hoooks you.

Suicide - Suicide

You are awesome.

Oh, stop it you!

Killing time in the record shop the other day I found Rowland Howard & Mick Harvey's Teenage Snuff Film which I found to be OK. The last track sounds kinda like the Butthole Surfers, which is never bad.
