I've only had one vague listen so far but I really dig the opener. Phil's vocals have never sounded better, great screaming and wailing.

The centerpiece "Book of the Month" has quickly become an all time favorite of mine. Overall the album is a tad disappointing, there's too many skits and not enough Patton and Charles together or on their own. Still what's there is awesome but you can't help but want more.

Flogging Molly. hmph. I had a brief stint where I was into the Dropkick Murphys (and I do mean brief, we're talking 4 to 6 hours), but I've realized that once you've heard one Celtic punk song, you've heard them all.

Both bands make up for their 'meh' studio efforts with amazing live performances, though. I own a few FM discs that I don't even know where they are, and I've DL'ed a bunch of DKM albums that are stunningly mediocre. Both bands are awesome live, though, so I still check them out when they play.

re: actual recent purchases, my ex bought me I Care Because You Do (Aphex Twin) and 10,000Hz Legend (Air) as birthday gifts, but I don't actually get to listen to them until tomorrow.
