A friend of mine specifically got 7 Songs and Margin Walker seperately, but he's a vinyl nerd. I'm more than fine with having 13 Songs.

My last couple of pick-ups were Black Flag's Damaged and The New Year's The End is Near.

Well, today was my birthday, and you know what that means.

Cash.

I went to Tower, and got 4 CDs , and paid all of $63.53 for them.

Acid Bath - "When The Kite String Pops"

The Strokes - "Room On Fire"

Dog Fashion Disco - "Commited to a Bright Future"

Modest Mouse - "Good News For People Who Love Bad News"

I was going to get some Slayer, but they were all $20, and they were "digitally remastered". I wasnt sure if I should hunt down the originals or not.

I grabbed "You can't do that on stage anymore, vol 1." I have Vol. 2, and liked it quite a bit, but this one has my favorite guys from the 70's and early 80's lineups, plus Steve Vai. I'll probably end up liking this one more, I think.

I finally got around to picking up Popol Vuh's Einsjäger & Siebenjäger, and it is absolutely phenomenal. The title track is some of the most mindblowingly beautiful music I've ever heard.

Well, of course, he generally works with marvellous bands, but their sound is never quite as....beautifully fucking abrasive without him. I do rock pretty hard, so he wouldn't have a mountain of work to do.

cat power - 'you are free'. pretty good stuff, but apparently i already downloaded all the great songs from it. i'd heard "names", "good woman" & "werewolf" so i was expecting something haunting and sparse and beautiful, but there's a lot of filler that doesn't have any strong tone to it.

Three of 'em this week:

Beautiful Garbage- Garbage

Reflections Eternal- Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek

Classic Masters- Blind Melon

The area in which I live has NO REAL RECORD STORES, so I'm forced to buy my music at either Circuit City or Sam Goody, both of whom have shit for selection and variety. The only thing I miss about living in Chicago is Crow's Nest, the greatest record store of all-time. Their import section is bigger than the ENTIRE selection at Goody or Circuit City.

Just picked up:

Ash-Meltdown (with bonus live disc)

Slipknot-Vol III (The Subliminal Verses)

Fear Factory-Archetype

Loving them all so far, but think Slipknot are slighty ahead of the other two.
