Guest reshad974 Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 ok we know that he is returning with his dead man gimmick but what will be his look ? I really hope he goes back to his 90-96 attire with grey gloves, hat, etc....and not his 96-99 look. What do you think ?
Jack_Bauer Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I also wanna see the grey boots and gloves again.
deancoles Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 He'll most probably use his 97-98 look.
eiker_ir Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I prefer the Purple Gloves myself, but he'll probably just go back to the look of 1998. That's good enough for me.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 He'll probably have a "new" look, which is basically just a mixture of several old looks.
Nevermortal Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Swerve everyone and have him come out as American Bad-ass.
Nighthawk Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 That would be hilarious. Speaking of which, that makes me wonder if he'll be doing the Last Ride anymore.
dubq Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I don't see why everyone is getting so hyped about this. It's the same wrestler everyone has bitched about for the past who-knows-how-many years. If you think he's less likely to say "Eh, I'm not feelin' it," as the deadman, then you're in for a rude awakening.
Nevermortal Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 ...but it all begins again. Right? RIGHT?!?!?!?
JJMc Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Swerve everyone and have him come out as American Bad-ass. That would be fucking HILARIOUS.

THE DEADMAN~!~!~!~1`!`~!@!!@#@# Yeah, I'm not really looking forward to his return, either.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I vote for the purple over the gray.
Guest Trivia247 Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Dawwww the Taker hater sad that some people down deep are interested in how he comes back
dubq Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Dawwww the Taker hater sad that some people down deep are interested in how he comes back Who are you even talking to?
Guest Coffey Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 He'll have a completely new look like L.O.D. 2000. It'll hit the original points (like L.O.D.'s Spiked Shoulder Pads) but it'll all be new. I really liked The Undertaker's run as the American Badass. Especially when he started incorporating more armwork and submission moves into his arsenal. It made it so that the "Old School" wasn't as pointless and that he had more than one or two ways to win a match. I distinctly remember a Dragon Sleeper victory and a leglock chokeout on the Big Show. I like it when almost any move can win a match. It's boring when it has to be "hit a finisher to win the match" or "hit a false finisher then repeat" for main events. Why can't Triple H win with his Spinebuster a few times? He beat Jeff Hardy with a Sleeper. Randy Orton won with a DDT...and his finisher is the Diamond Cutter. It just doesn't happen often enough. How about letting RVD get a win after a Split-Legged Moonsault again? Or his Rolling Thunder? Or a German Suplex with Bridge? It helps add to matches I feel. Near falls would be a lot more...near.
Lord of The Curry Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 On a somewhat related note, regardless of who goes over at Mania, I'm expecting a tombstone finish.

I agree with the "standard moves" finishing a match point. I also like it when wrestlers would have several finishers at their disposal, but maybe that's the puro fan in me talking.

How about letting RVD get a win after a Split-Legged Moonsault again? Or his Rolling Thunder? Or a German Suplex with Bridge? I've been saying this for a while now. Only thing is, whenever people win matches with sleepers, spinebusters, or even DDTs *ON A METAL STAGE*, people start bitching about how the person who lost is either buried or being made to look weak. I'm all for having matches end on non-finishing moves. Doing so would make near-falls mean something again, and would probably make live crowds a little bit hotter.

dubq Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Dawwww the Taker hater sad that some people down deep are interested in how he comes back Who are you even talking to? you since you were the one complaining... Who said I was a Taker hater? And I don't know what your definition of "complaining" is, but it certainly differs from mine. Re-read the post.. and if you still don't get what I'm saying, then go back to school.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Anything but the satanic 1999 look. I hated that. I thought it was stupid, and he freaked me out. What was he saying in his entrance music, by the way?
notJames Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I say the biker look with that crazy wide tie is the way to go. And I'd love it if he would stop talking, too. ::also not looking forward to one more year with 'Taker::
Vyce Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I think we'll get a mix of the old school Taker and the Ministry of Darkness Taker. The makeup has GOT to come back, though. I won't be happy unless his face is painted like a Dawn of the Dead refugee.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 The Undertaker will return.... ...as "Mean" Mark Calloway! Talk about old school.
iliketurtles Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I see him coming back to his 97-98 look.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 It's interesting, because he's in as good a shape now as he was back in the 97-98 days (If 2003 was any indication) so I hope the return to the DeadMan style won't totally destroy the good workrate he's been giving.
NoCalMike Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I see him coming back and moving around slower then EVER before.
Steviekick Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 On a somewhat related note, regardless of who goes over at Mania, I'm expecting a tombstone finish. Thats what I think will end it, as well. Taker can still use the Last Ride (from Hell) and call it that. It's still eerie enough for the "deadman" gimmick.
Steviekick Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 I see him coming back and moving around slower then EVER before. At least his non-selling will make sense.
Nevermortal Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 They should give Kane/Taker a stipulation. CASKET MATCH, BABY.
