snuffbox Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I actually knew a kid who did this back in the day... also had his penis 'sliced' intentionally... Yeah, its about the stupidest thing Ive ever encountered.
Slayer Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 When will the "Stupid kids killing themselves off so society will propser" trend kick in?
Sandman9000 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 When will the "Stupid kids killing themselves off so society will propser" trend kick in? Have you not seen the backyard wrestling videos?
Guest Fook Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 The line between stupid teens and cattle grows dimmer...
MrRant Posted March 8, 2004 Author Report Posted March 8, 2004 Not everything in Current Events needs to be political bitch.

kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Let 'em keep doing it. Just makes my chances of getting a white-collar job over them better...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 remember when people would get thier tounges sliced in half? those were the days.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Wheres Terry Funk when you need him?
Sandman9000 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Wheres Terry Funk when you need him? Out with his branding iron. He's taking advantage of this shit, maaaaaaaaaaaan.
Jobber of the Week Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I second the fluff vote. This has enough relevance to society as that story about the Japanese girls who wear their underwear day after day until it's stale and crusty.
CanadianChick Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I love idiots like this who give teens everywhere a bad name. But really, who am I kidding? Teens deserve the rep they get. I dread the day my generation is running the world. God help us all.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I love idiots like this who give teens everywhere a bad name. But really, who am I kidding? Teens deserve the rep they get. I dread the day my generation is running the world. God help us all. My Grade Ten business teacher said the same thing, regarding the regrets of our generation running the world (this was two years a go by the way). She went on a rant, talking about how we'd be better off six feet under or something like that. She then proceeded to tell us that she was going to a "cop meeting" so she could know what we were and were not allowed to do, and that we should all be careful. That had something to do with the fact that right before she was writing something on the board only to be pelted with skittles, and when she expected someone to step we abrupted into laughter. Her bad feelings might have to do with the fact that we made her cry, no, bawl. Twice. Next day she acted like nothing happened either. Last day of school she gave me some card thanking me for being in her class or some shit, I wouldn't know since I threw it in the trash on the way out. What does that have to do with this thread? I don't know, but I'm gonna get all OMG RACIZT like everyone else in CE and point out a trend about these kids killing themselves and doing insanely stupid things........ Still here, it's gonna be RACIZT TO DA MAKS~!!!!! They're all white. *Everyone stares* WHAT? It's true. Not saying that all white kids do this, but that all kids that do this are white. It has less to do with colour and more to do with social standing, but I don't feel like getting into that.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Not true. I see all kinds of black athletes with branding done. Usually greek letters, I think.
nl5xsk1 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 AoO is right ... before tattooing became more common among African Americans, many black frats would get their greek symbol branded on their arms. (former Patriots tight end Ben Coates had a huge ass Omega symbol on his arm, for example). And as much as I hate to admit it, when I was a young stoner punk, me and a friend branded each other. It's barely visible now, but if I point it out to someone you can very easily see an iron cross on my inner bicep.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 You know, now that I think about it.. Not true. I see all kinds of black athletes with branding done. Usually greek letters, I think. That would rather easily explain the fad among white teens.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004  Branding is nothing new, but all of a sudden the news is talking about it. I guess that means suburb kids are doing it now, after all that's the only time the news would actually care.
DerangedHermit Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Let's just rename this folder "Fark.com". It's not the Current Events folder, it's Fark.com.
BUTT Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 You see, I bet this all started when those kids saw Terry Funk use his branding iron on Kevin Nash on Nitro. Then, all the kids wanted to be like the cool, hip Big Sexy so they started branding themselves. Children, just because you can't have beautiful, vitamin-enriched hair like Kevin Nash doesn't mean you have to try and compensate for it in other areas!

Children, just because you can't have beautiful, vitamin-enriched hair like Kevin Nash doesn't mean you have to try and compensate for it in other areas! I was inspired by Justin "The Hawk" Bradshaw to brand myself, back in '96. My friends and I followed his trends from there onward. We branded ourselves with Magic marker, painted Satanic symbols on our chests, and now we drink beers and fuck each other up the ass.

Ripper Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 AoO is right ... before tattooing became more common among African Americans, many black frats would get their greek symbol branded on their arms. It wasn't before tattooing became prominant amoung blacks(Africans have been Tattooing for god knows how long...blacks had tattoos when they came over to the country) its just some frats do the branding thing after the become a member. The part basically consist of guys getting really REALLY drunk and them branding them with the symbol. But lots of them just got a tattoo of it because they didn't want the branding.
