The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Yes, it's an odd topic - but i feel there are some fun little cameos that are just surprising, funny, or whatever and that can make you remember one character's two minutes stand out just because of the unexpected nature of it all. A few of my favorites are: Jerry Lewis & Jack Benny - It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World Jay & Silent Bob - Scream 3 (it makes a case for the Scream trilogy being a part of the Askewniverse. how messed up is that) Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck - A Goofy Movie (so sue me, i'm a Disney mark) Bob Barker - Happy Gilmore Earl Warren - JFK (if you can call that a cameo)
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Weird Al - Naked Gun 33 1/3. Sure, he did nothing, but the guys funny damn it! And I guess Jon Lovitz in Little Nicky as the peeping Tom who goes to hell and gets humped by a horny bird.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Jay & Silent Bob - Scream 3 (it makes a case for the Scream trilogy being a part of the Askewniverse. how messed up is that) Wow, I never thought about that before. I think that has to be the biggest "verse" there is then. Sarah Michelle Gellar - She's All That. Sorry Buffy mark. Plus they use the same high school in Buffy that they use in SAT. Snoop Dogg - Half Baked. It coined the term "Snoopin it" whenever someone mooches of a person when they are smokin a joint. Hulk Hogan - Gremlins 2. When I was a little kid, I marked the fuck out. Ten bucks says everyone else did to. All I can think of right now.

Hogan cutting a promo on the Gremlins is fucking classic. Anyone know the exact lines? I rented the movie but it's edited out. Damn VHS version. (waits to see it on HBO or Cinemax)

1234-5678 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Earl Warren - JFK (if you can call that a cameo) Do you mean how the actual Jim Garrison played Earl Warren? I'll have to say Chris Farley in "Dirty Work"

starvenger 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Dan Marino - Ace Ventura Dan got billed in the movie, so you can't call it a cameo. I think that Bob Barker got billed in Happy Gilmore as well. Still, Bob and Chris Macdonald made that movie enjoyable. I loved The Muppet Movie for the sheer volume of cameos. E.T. in The Phantom Menace. Nice of Lucas to tip his hat to Spielberg. Dwight Schultz as Barclay in Star Trek: First Contact (the only good TNG movie) Stan Lee in Marvel movies.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 It's not a cameo if they actually have lines and stick around for a few. A cameo is like Arnold in The Rundown, one line and a second on the screen. Although I think you can count Heston from Wayne's World 2 a cameo. Kane Hodder had an out of Jason cameo in Jason goes to hell, which is kinda cool. And I was a huge Pistons fan back in the day, I laughed my ass off at the Barkley & Laimbeer bit in Hot Shots.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 The entire beginning of Goldmember. I also loved seeing Daffy and Donald Duck going off at on another on the pianos in Roger Rabbit. As well ad Dumbo, and a bunch of other ones in that movie.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 And I was a huge Pistons fan back in the day, I laughed my ass off at the Barkley & Laimbeer bit in Hot Shots. That was my first thought, too. (Bill Laimbeer jersey and rookie card here, although I like Barkley, too. By the way, did you ever read Barkley's book which went into detail about his fight with Bill in Detroit?) My second thought was Arnold's in the "Rundown." My third thought was the origial Hulk guy in the Hulk movie...

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Terry Funk getting in a brawl with Patrick Swayze in "Roadhouse"...and losing! Actually, wasn't really a cameo. Terry was one of the main bouncers and pretty much was all over the first 30 minutes or so. I pick Robert Stack in Baseketball. That had to be some of the funniest stuff ever. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Gary Coleman in Dirty Work- it's just so random but so so funny.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 LL Cool J at the start of Touch is a good cameo. He's being interviewed on a talkshow, gets angry with the presenter, swears and marches off. Pointless, but quite funny. Bruce Springsteen in High Fidelity is great too. Really comes from nowhere, but what a great appearance

WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 My third thought was the origial Hulk guy in the Hulk movie... That's Lou Ferrigno, both he and Stan Lee are the security guards that are walking out at the beginning of the movie. I thought that was hilarious, because Lee is just jabbering away and Ferrigno is nodding his head like he's listening, but if you know anything about Ferrigno, you know he's mostly deaf. Another nice touch was that Bruce Banner's father's name was David. For the T.V. show, the network had them change the name to David from Bruce because they though it was a 'gay' name. That was just a jab at Batman, they wanted it changed so as not to have the two characters confused. Lee then changed it in the comics that Bruce's real name was David Bruce Banner, after his father and he went by Bruce. So good continuity there.
