AndrewTS Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Pretty much all my favorite eps were mentioned already. But aside from those, I like the Kif-centric episodes. Plus you gotta love the one where the space brain Star Trek fan kidnapped TOS' actors heads (Where No Fan Has Gone Before). I never saw the entire thing, but Zap and Shatner should have butted heads at least once. "My favorite one was the one where they go back to the 1950s with the Area 51 parody. Zoidberg is impeccable in that episode. " Awesome as well. Especially as Fry pelts the president with Zoidberg's organs. Plus the whole thing with Fry's dad and what happened after was sick but hilarious. They even had continuity going later on. The Problem With Popplers is gold for Morbo in rare form plus Smelly Hippie (Ride the Walrus!). Godfellas (when Bender becomes a planet/god) was pretty good, although it was far from original.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 now youve got me wondering what happemed injurrassic bark (cant rrmemeber I f I saw it or not just by the title) you can pu tit in spoiler tags if you want. You really have to see it more to get the full effect of the ending more than anything. Melancholy is still pretty much the way to describe it, especially with the music playing to finish it out. Basically, the whole episode is about Fry discovering his old dog from 1999, a raggedy homeless dog that became his pizza company's official mascot. The episode goes back and forth between Fry's memories and good times with Seymour and how his old buddy always followed him along and such.. Bender, as Fry's current best friend, gets insanely jealous, and tries to stop the Professor from cloning the dog back to life ("inside the fossilized dolemite of the dog lies a creamy dog nougat!") at the very last minute, and throws the dog into hot lava, and Fry starts crying and feeling terrible, Bender goes in and saves fossilized Seymour since dolemite can survive in hot lava. Brings it up, and Fry this time stops it, noting that Seymour was only 3 years old when he was cryogenically frozen, and he lived to be 15 years old.. and so he says that he lived a long, full life after Fry was frozen, so Seymour probably forgot all about him by then. The tearjerker comes back to 1999, when it shows Seymour waiting outside the pizza place Fry worked at, sitting and waiting for him as he grew older and older, and as Fry's boss came outside to feed him pizza, over the years as this song plays about "if I have to wait forever, I'll do it for you.." and it fades out as Seymour, old and mangly, lays down and closes his eyes... still waiting for him to come back at the pizza shop.
Molotov The Bear Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Roswell that ends well is gold. Fry makes himself his own gradfather, and then pelting the president with Zoidberg's organs is just great. I also like the Robot hell ep, and Luck of the Fryfish/Jurassic Bark for reasons already said. Other favorites are the one with the What if machine, and the one where the Planet Express ship falls in love with Bender.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Nobody's mentioned the episode where Bender gets paralyzed, and goes on tour w/ Beck. Beck had no problems taking shots at himself. Plus, "Cylon & Garfunkel" cracked me up.
Guest Ransome Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Other favorites are the one with the What if machine, and the one where the Planet Express ship falls in love with Bender. I'm suprised noone else has mentioned Anthology of Interest I (or II). As far as I'm concerned, the 'what if' scenario where Leela wants to become more impulsive and can't stop killing people might be just the most consistently funny 10 minutes I've ever seen on television. 'Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love' (Zoidberg returns to his home planet for the mating ritual) is another excellent episode.
Kardo Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I'm suprised no one has mentioned The Sting, weird weird episode but very satisfying. Especially, "Don't Worry, Beeeeeee Happy"
DMann2003 Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I'm suprised no one has mentioned The Sting, weird weird episode but very satisfying. Especially, "Don't Worry, Beeeeeee Happy" Fry- Leela, you have to do something for me Leela- What? Fry- Just wake up...
Ed Wood Caulfield Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Nobody's mentioned the episode where Bender gets paralyzed, and goes on tour w/ Beck. Beck had no problems taking shots at himself. Plus, "Cylon & Garfunkel" cracked me up. I just loved the fact that Cylon looked like one of the robots from Battlestar Galatica. There's just something hilarious about a robot playing folk music. I loved the Robot Hell episode, not only because it was hilarious, but because the Beastie Boys were in it, and I'm a big Beastie Boys fan. I agree that Luck Of The Fryish, the one with Leela's parents, and Jurassic Park are tearjerkers. I also love the one where the big pile of garbage was heading towards Earth, and Fry, Leela, and Bender had to stop it. Time Keeps On Slipping and the one with the moon amusement park were great too.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I just loved the fact that Cylon looked like one of the robots from Battlestar Galatica. Cylon's *ARE* the robots from Battlestar Galactica.
Slayer Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I'm suprised noone else has mentioned Anthology of Interest I (or II). Check the second post of the thread My favorite is the video game world segment. The Wizard of Oz parody also sticks out in my head, mostly just because I'm from Kansas and therefore will never escape the WoO association
PLAGIARISM! Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I shed a tear at the end of Jurassic Bark. I think the final episode features some of the best writing (the opera) and is a fair reflection of why it shouldn't have been cancelled.
Vyce Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 The snoo snoo episode. It's pretty much the only episode of Futurama that I like. What? Christ, what a fucking depressing ending. Goddamn, I hated this show.
LatinAssasin Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Oh man, I thought I was the only one who got emotional over Jurassic Bark. The other episodes I've liked have already been mentioned (the opera one, the snoo snoo one, and the bee sting one). I never really got into the show until I started watching it just recently on Cartoon Network and realized that it was actually pretty good.
Jericholic82 Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Oh ok, I remember that one now. thank you.
Garth Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 The Deep South A Pharaoh To Remember Obsoletely Fabulous I find all these episodes to be very good and I don't think any of these have got a mention yet. Godfellas is another favorite of mine. We actually watched that episode in college in my Religious Studies class when I took it in, the teacher thought it was excellent and has gone out and bought the season for herself so she can show it to future classes which I think is pretty awesome.
The Amazing Rando Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I forgot about The Sting. That episode just left me totally creeped out.

Boner Kawanger Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Oh man, I thought I was the only one who got emotional over Jurassic Bark. Trust me, if there's every any movie, TV show, song, drawing, or other representation of a dog that is sad, numerous people will get emotional.
the max Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Other favorites of mine: I, Roommate Mars University The Sting
AboveAverage484 Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 I always liked the one that had the "Titanic" parody.
Precious Roy Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 nice to see I'm not the only one who almost cried during Jurassic Bark and the Fry's Brother Stole His Name episodes Those two, and the one where Leela gets stung by a giant bee and goes into massive halucinations, incredibly moving stuff for a cartoon....
Jericholic82 Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 nice to see I'm not the only one who almost cried during Jurassic Bark and the Fry's Brother Stole His Name episodes Those two, and the one where Leela gets stung by a giant bee and goes into massive halucinations, incredibly moving stuff for a cartoon.... That one was on Cartoon Network last night and I watched it. I agree.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I always found the final episode (The Devils Hands Are Idle Playthings or something to that effect) to be kind of emotional. At least Luck of the Fryrish and The Sting have a tiny bit of comedy at the end that pulls it back a little. I like stuff with Zoidberg (Especially the Amazon planet episode where he's looking for a new shell), and especially Hyper Chicken. 300 Big Boys isn't bad, either.
LatinAssasin Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Oh man, I thought I was the only one who got emotional over Jurassic Bark. Trust me, if there's every any movie, TV show, song, drawing, or other representation of a dog that is sad, numerous people will get emotional. Lil Brudder!! *sobs*
