Guest Scuba Steve Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 What is, was, or will be your college major? I'm trying to decide between Bussiness Management (boring, possibly more money) or Criminal Justice (more exciting, probably less money).
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I've just completed my B.Sc., majoring in Mathematics. In the fall I will be starting my Ph.D. program in Mathematics.
Ted the Poster Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Criminal Justice for me. My ultimate goal is to become a Crime Scene Tech. There are many different departments in the Criminal Justice field, and they all pay differently. I've researched CJ jobs with salaries ranging from as low as $20K up to $75K. Though I think your ultimate deciding factor should be about which career would be the most satisfying to you.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Journalism and Communications, with a concentration in Print...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Chemistry. It changed a couple of times, but that's what I settled on.
Slayer Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Double in Mathematics/Economics Could pursue grad school in either one, but then again, Popick's an economist, so... mathematics it is
sfaJack Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Whatever you do, don't base your choice on money. That's just about the worst thing you can do. If Criminal Justice excites you more, then you should probably go for that. I was an accounting major. Fits my personality perfectly.
The Czech Republic Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Well, African-American Studies, natch

Guest Loss Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 When I go back, I'm getting a double major in English and Communications, with a double minor in Gender Studies and History or Sociology. I also want to have a teaching certificate.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 She graduated Magna in Home Ec.
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Double in Film and Music. I've considered Psychology and also getting a Real estate license on the side to do that part-time, since it's not a held-down 9-5 job, it's something to make extra money on the weekends and at night.
Mik Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Nutritional Sciences with a focus on biochemistry. Will be starting my PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry in the fall.
Ripper Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Alot of people in this thread are going to never work in their field. Ripper - Bringing the cold hard truth since 12:30 pm
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Heh..I could if I wanted to totally disregard the law and put myself in some serious legal risks. The fact that I could make as much as a lot of people earn in a year in the span of a month or so is tempting, but I don't feel like sitting federal time. I'll stick with my cigarette work.
Ripper Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I could always start killing people for a living again, but there is the whole moral issue and I have come so far in my redemption journey. I will have to keep it on the straight and narrow.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Ripper, I'd be very surprised if you've ever even killed a fish.
Ripper Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Ripper, I'd be very surprised if you've ever even killed a fish. You would be suprised.

Guest Cerebus Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Got my B.S. in political science, planning on either law school or an MA in Public Policy.
Guest Goodear Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 You poor bastard. <-- Psychology Major graduated Cum Laude... now working as an accountant.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 I'd like to learn to be a butcher. It wouldn't take nearly as long as college, and it couldn't cost much. It's not something I'd ever want to do for a 20 year career or anything, but I'm all about being a jack of all trades.
IllustriousOne Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Music Performance major, with thoughts of doubling in Graphic Design. w00tah or some such.
Zack Malibu Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Currently at the tail end of getting an associates in Education/Special Education. I've continued to do volunteer work as a teachers assistant despite my work study course ending a month ago, and I may be getting a job as an assitant there soon.
