The Czech Republic Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 While he's a far-right nutjob, most of his music kicks ass. Plus he's one hardcore mofo. He'd honestly make for a neat b-movie character, though. I'd be up to see him in a parody of The Most Dangerous Game, where he hunts down other musicians for sport. This is the best idea I have ever heard. I mean...wow. Just wow. I'd kill to see him hunting down Dennis DeYoung with a bow and arrow.
Ripper Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Because they then see the rest of his movies, and realize he's just the same character over and over and over and over... ...and over and over... I cannot stand...almost all listed so far, minus Walken. And let's throw that Hayley Joel Osment kid into the mix, even though he can act. Little fucker just makes me want to shoot him. ...fuck Joaquin Phoenix while we're at it, too. And Russell Crowe. How can you say that in once sentence and praise Walken in another? I mean, I love the guy to DEATH, but he plays the same character in almost every movie. And while Eyes Wide Shut was pretty sucky, Cruise did a damn fine acting job in it. And Jerry Maguire was pretty sappy, but once again, damn good job acting. See, I don't care if the movie is shitty, good acting is good acting. Brad Pitt could sign up to do the next 10 sequals of You Got Served, it still wouldn't change the fact that I think he is a incredible actor. He would just be a incredible actor in incredibly shitty movies.
Guest croweater Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Tom Cruise: He's horrible, although I've liked most of the movies he's been in. The Last Samuri was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Ben Afflek: Paycheck is the worst movie I have ever seen. I can't believe Uma Therman demoted herself to "that" after picking up momentum with Kill Bill. If Paycheck is my least favourite movie, Pearl Harbour is my second least favourite. Russell Crowe: Ok, I must admit I have only seen parts of Gladiator, and I know he can act, but he seems to try too hard. A beautiful mind was a great movie, but Crowe was no where near deserving of his oscar nomination. You could see the cogs turning in his head through the whole movie, is character was Russell Crowe trying to be the character. Halle Berry annoys me, but she is a great actress when she needs to be. Monster's Ball definately had an oscar worth performance. Hugh Grant: I hate romantic comedies, he knows nothing else..... and you wanna talk about playing the same fucking character over and over again. Haley Joel Osmond (sp?): I always thought I hated him, but the other day I just realised that I liked every movie he's in that I have seen. Cameron Diaz is saved by "Being John Malchovich".
TheBigSwigg Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Halle Berry annoys me, but she is a great actress when she needs to be. Monster's Ball definately had an oncar worth performance. I can't agree with that in any way. She cried for the whole movie. That was it. and even if it was oscar worthy, her part in swordfish, the X-men movies, and Catwoman will forever scar her as horrible.
godthedog Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 all you crowe nonbelievers need to see 'the insider'. tom cruise is terrible in 'eyes wide shut'. whenever he's supposed to act surprised or perturbed (like the "climactic" scene with sidney lumet), all he does is furrow his brow in this incredibly annoying way and you can just FEEL him trying SO HARD to exude the emotion. it looks fake and shallow. he does the same thing towards the end of 'magnolia' at his father's deathbed. when he starts crying, it doesn't read like a man who doesn't want his father to die, it reads like an actor trying really really hard to make himself cry. but he IS fantastic in 'jerry maguire', with a role that plays to all his strengths and looks effortless. especially the scene when he, renee zellwegger, cuba & his wife are at the restaurant. that little "oh shit, this is how people in love are supposed to act and we don't have it" moment depends COMPLETELY upon his reaction and his body language, and he nails it perfectly with that fake warm smile of vague discomfort and gingerly taking renee's hand. cameron diaz in person annoys the hell out of me and seems like 3/4 of the actresses i knew in high school and college: always "on", way too bubbly & ostentatious, and without any substance.
Ripper Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 WHOA!! Are you questioning his performance in Magnolia. That performanc owns different faces. Maybe Tom Cruise just cries like he is constipated, but the rest of that performance was GREAT.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Holy shit. I can't believe it took me that long to realize that Anna Farris' character in Lost in Translation was TOTALLY a spoof of Cameron Diaz, another actress who annoys the heck out of me. Julia Roberts is also someone I can't stand. She almost single-handedly ruined Ocean's Eleven for me because she was so bad in it.
godthedog Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 WHOA!! Are you questioning his performance in Magnolia. That performanc owns different faces. Maybe Tom Cruise just cries like he is constipated, but the rest of that performance was GREAT. i think he gets way too much credit for it, but aside from the deathbed scene his performance is quite good. you CAN see him trying, and sometimes character gets lost in all the moving around & overall weird shit he's doing. but he's obviously having the time of his life, and it's a ton of fun just to watch him let it all hang out and use all that energy.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 I can't name one Tom Cruise movie that I haven't liked. I don't know why some people don't like him. I mean, he may not be the greatest fuckin actor, but goddamn does he make enjoyable movies.
Corey_Lazarus Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 He picks the right scripts, that's all. If Tom Cruise were in Ghost Ship, it wouldn't have mattered.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Vin Diesel or however you spell his name. I can't think of a SINGLE movie of his enjoyable, his acting equals that of anyone you bump into on the streets and ask them to perform a scene, and sounds like he's reading the script while filming, one word per 4 seconds. I can't think of other people though, I'm not big on hate.

You don't deserve to watch movies. If The Last Samurai is one of the worst movies you've ever seen, and Paycheck IS the worst movie you've ever seen... you must not have seen many movies.
Lil' Bitch Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Put me in the Ben Stiller wagon. I also hate Johhny Depp.
Guest El Satanico Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 I also hate Johhny Depp. May you get a painful infection
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Yeah, I'll give you a painful injection as well for that Johnny Depp comment.........as well as a kick in the nuts.
tommytomlin Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman (we get this overrated hag shoved down our throats on pretty much every media outlet in Australia) and Ben Affleck I HATE. Halle Berry I also hate, but she's also a horrible actress. Bitch couldn't even do a convincing accent in X-Men 1, so they let her drop it in X-Men 2. AND SHE WON AN OSCAR.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 Any child actor. Any actors in this new wave of FX over plot. And Keanu Reaves. And Chevy Chase...

How do you think Nicole Kidman's over rated. I haven't seen her put on a bad performance my entire life.
DCMaximo Posted June 13, 2004 Report Posted June 13, 2004 In that case, you've obviously never seen her stink up the screen in Cold Mountain. Such a wooden, dull performance. And I hate Elijah Wood too. Cock
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 And I hate Elijah Wood too. Cock Especially when he started considering himself a Hollywood heavyweight when he was cast in that movie about that ring.
edotherocket Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Elijah Wood has been in 4 memorable movies in a row.
Lil' Bitch Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 May you get a painful infection Yeah, I'll give you a painful injection as well for that Johnny Depp comment.........as well as a kick in the nuts. Nope, the only movie I liked his work in was Don Juan Demarco and that's it. Sorry.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 What about Donnie Brasco, Blow, and Pirates of the Caribbean? You didn't like Depp in those movies either?
Guest El Satanico Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Also Ed Wood and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I don't know why you would hate him.
2GOLD Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Sean William Scott When he gets beat up in a movie, I find myself wanting to suggest more places they can hit him. And he should be severely hurt for American Pie 2 and American Wedding. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make HIM the focus of American Wedding should be hurt even more than Scott. His be-heading in Final Destination is the only thing I liked about that movie. Not that I actually wish death on him cause he might be a nice guy, I just wish death on his appearing in another film. Orlando Bloom Ok, he's been in four films and he hasn't acted different in any of them. And in Return of the King it looked as though he was waiting for the check to clear. This guy seems to give "Well, he's scenary" a whole new meaning.
Ripper Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 He picks the right scripts, that's all. If Tom Cruise were in Ghost Ship, it wouldn't have mattered. To be fair, anyone could have been in Ghost Ship and it wouldn't have mattered.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Also Ed Wood and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I don't know why you would hate him. AND What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Johnny Depp is probably my favorite actor, now that I think about it. I like every movie of his listed. Gilbert Grape and those two^ rank among my favorites.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 Elijah Wood has been in 4 memorable movies in a row. Trilogies don't count.
Vyce Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 And I hate Elijah Wood too. Cock How dare you. He was wonderful in all of those films. And he's incredibly attractive as well.
DCMaximo Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 He was by far the worst thing about Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, although that's partly because of how great the rest of the cast were. As for the Lord Of The Rings films, putting aside my dislike of the trilogy, he was exceptionally average in those as well. And I hated him in North too.
