alfdogg 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I love Clyde but I hope not. He's been out for six years, he's 42 years old, I doubt he could help the Nuggets at all anyway. Also the Hawks signed Kenny Anderson and Jon Barry.

Also the Hawks signed Kenny Anderson and Jon Barry. Same here. It would be sick if he could play competently. The last time Anderson and Barry played together was 10 years ago when they were still in college and playing for Georgia!

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 HEAT SIGN FORMER DREAM TEAMER `It's part of the game,'' said Laettner, who is known more for passing and shooting than for physical inside play. ``It's part of getting older. It's not averaging 18 (points) and eight (rebounds) anymore. That's all part of it.'' Since when has he been getting that?
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 Agreed. In other news, the Bobcats signed Steve Smith. I wish they signed Stephen A. Smith instead. THE CHARLOTTE BOBCATS ARE THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THE ASSOCIATION SINCE LARRY BIRD, MAGIC JOHNSON! EVEN BIGGER THAN THE THREE-POINT LINE, OR EVEN THE OLD DENVER NUGGETS LOGO WITH THE RAINBOW SKYLINE! THERE IS NO WAY THAT IN A WEAK SOUTHEAST DIVISION, THE BOBCATS CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE FINALS! alfdogg 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Bob Sura had back surgery and will miss at least the first two weeks of the season. BTW, I was at the Y this morning, and was flipping channels, and noticed Woody Paige on Cold Pizza. I also noticed the discussion was about Ron Artest, so I kept it on. I only caught the tail end of the discussion, but it was enough to catch this from that moron Skip Bayless: "They're not going to get Peja Stojakovic for this guy...that's just dreaming." ...what the fuck is that supposed to mean? He honestly thinks that Peja is better all-around than Artest?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Even as a Kings and Peja fan, I wouldn't say Peja is overall better than Artest, but right now I'd rather have Peja. While Artest is a better athlete, defender, and rebounder, he still is one of the biggest head cases in the league. Just when everyone thought he had it under control, up comes game 6 of the ECF and Artest reverts back to his old self. Peja right now is the man I'd want (speaking from the Kings standpoint) because he's a top outside shooter, scorer, and while his playoff perfomances have much to be desired, he is pretty clutch in the regular season. Peja is also eons more mature, despite asking for the off season trade. I missed Cold Pizza this morning, so I have no clue on the context of Skip Bayliss's comments. However, as big a moron as Bayliss seems, Paige is ten times worse.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Ron Artest has cooled down espically this season. I think he has grown up, and is ready to be one of the greatest defenders to ever play the sport.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Ron Artest has cooled down espically this season. I think he has grown up, and is ready to be one of the greatest defenders to ever play the sport. I like Artest a lot, but I still think that Andrei Kirilenko is still above him as far as defense is concerned. Artest's numbers might be slightly better, but AK is much more mature and has a better thinking game.

starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 The Hawks have signed Kevin Willis. You care. Just accept it. Willis would've won the Olympic Gold for the US with one hand tied behind his back. In all serious, it's nice to see that a 75-year old center can still find a team that will take him. Then again, this is a league where Yogi Stewart can find employment... The new rumour floating around is that Jordan is interested in playing for the Heat with Shaq. I think Jordan needs to fire his advisors if this is true. Or at least stop talking to guys like Deion Sanders and Mario Lemieux...

lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 wait. Kevin Willis was drafted before I was born. I don't even think they had a three point line when he came into the league and he is still playing. Well to his credit for a 89 year old he still keeps himself in AMAZING shape and could at least serve as a mentor to some young big men on the Hawks

I think Jordan needs to fire his advisors if this is true. Or at least stop talking to guys like Deion Sanders and Mario Lemieux... Michael Jordan should come back because he is the greatest basketball player of all time. he can still go out there and show the young high schoolers up. they don't have anything on the man. when jordan signs with the heat which will prolly be very soon they will be the favorites in the nba and the east to win it all. with the squad of mj and shaq they will be an unstoppable force. shaq will dominate inside and when he gets triple teamed he can kick it out to mj for the wide open dime. even though he is old he will still be able to hit that dime when shaq kicks it out to him. The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Jordan back again? I am not sure if I like this idea of not... I still find it ridiculous that Miami retired Jordan's number even though Mike never played for them. I guess if he comes back this time and then retires after, his number being retired as a Heat would make a little more sense.

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Haven't heard of the Jordan rumors, but Dennis Rodman is trying out for the Nuggets. Also the Bucks signed Jelani McCoy. Also, a Carter-for-Baron trade rumor seems to be formulating. But Rodman left practice because of an ingrown toenail causing him too much pain to work out. On the Jordan front, rumor has it that Shaq doesn't want anything to do with him and is lobbying to keep him out of Miami.

League-wide is a prestigious, cool honour, but when its just a team that you pretty much have had no affiliation with, I just found it to be really strange. It wasn't even like MJ poured out his best of games against Miami either.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Cleveland, New York, Utah and a few other cities should annually burn his jersey out of frustration. From all respectable places, I've seen the Jordan rumors shut down to no end, so I doubt we'll be seeing him in a uniform this year. Todd MacCulloch retired. If you can give me a great Todd moment, then I'll briefly bow to you.

alfdogg 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 MacCulloch had some kind of foot disease that kept him out all of last year. The chance of him ever playing again was very slim. "News": The Cavs will sign Scott Williams. Injuries: Jamal Mashburn will start the season on the injured list. Steve Blake (Wizards' backup PG) will miss 10-12 weeks. I had the article a couple days ago, but I can't find it now. But you know I wouldn't lie to you. Vlade Divac will be out for about a month after X-rays revealed a herniated disc in his back. He could miss the Lakers' opener.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Got this from Yahoo Gary Payton is expected to announce soon that he will report to Celtics training camp on Oct. 5. Payton was said to be less-than-thrilled with last month's trade that sent him to Boston, along with Rick Fox, for Chucky Atkins, Chris Mihm and Jumaine Jones. But Payton is under contract (for $5.4 million) and he's not likely to turn his back on that kind of scratch. The real question for the Celtics is which Glove will show up in Beantown? Will it be a fiery Payton motivated to show that last year's struggles in L.A. were the result of the triangle offense and not his declining skills at age 36? Or will it be a sulking Payton, bitter at the Lakers for sending him to an East Coast team with little chance of getting him that long-sought NBA ring? Most likely it will be a resigned Payton keeping mum just long enough to get himself shipped elsewhere before the trade deadline.
