Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 None of this is written in stone, I just wanted to bounce some fantasy basketball ideas around to the TSM'ers that are interested. Ones I would be interested in playing are NBA.com's Virtual GM and Rookie games. Those should probrably be made open for the public IMO, but if you think otherwise, voice here. I also think we should maybe do 2 Yahoo leagues. One can be like last year's with a head to head, roto style weekly match up. I would also be interested in an auction league, but I don't know if there any sites out there that would host our auction. I thought the TSM football auction league was very fun and I think basketball can be just as fun. I think we've got awhile before any of these leagues become available, but wanted to start up some dialogue on what TSM'ers would be interested in. Thoughts? Concerns? EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Lightning Flik has the H2H league running again this season. Perhaps a roto or other type league would be interesting as well.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I'd be up for some Virtual GM again. Hopefully we can get some more activity than last year when it was just myself, alfdogg and Harley active regularly for most of the season, and i think only i kept setting a lineup right until the final day of the season. And if there's a site that does it i'd certainly join an auction league, i too very much liked the auction draft for the Football league so i'd be in a Basketball auction league in a heartbeat. In the end any fantasy league anybody sets up i'd likely join.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I actually think the Yahoo leagues will be back up sometime in the next week. I'll be back in the H2H, and also Virtual GM.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 The H2H League shall return once again. I'll put up stuff for it when Yahoo opens up.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 As far as I know, I think I have 5 free spots currently. If the demand is there, I'm always willing to add some more teams.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted September 27, 2004 i'll be back with my no keepers. I know the auction site did baseball, but I'm not sure if they do basketball. Hang on: no, no they do not.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 But I want to spend $50 on Tim Duncan!
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Uh... Raza, you can't. Duncan was keepered. I'll have a list up tomorrow and stuff. Keep a watch out for it.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen shall lead me to victory over you all in the Head-to-Head Keeper league. And after a quick search of the internet there doesn't seem to be any site for doing an Auction basketball draft (that i can find anyway), unless something pops up in the next few weeks/months/however long it is it doesn't seem possible, unless people wanted to do it manually in a big AIM chat or something, though having to keep track of who's been taken, how much money everyone has left and all that would probably end up messy. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'll be up for H2H on Yahoo... You could do the draft in a thread here. It would be much easier.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 That's how it was done last year, and many people wanted to do it again this year. Just like last. Again, I'll have the H2H information up tomorrow.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted September 27, 2004 the good news about a homemade auction is that fantasy bball teams only have like 8 or 9 players.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Im going to regret not keeping Dwayne Wade in Flik's league. I've got a feeling he'll be one of the first players picked up. I'm starting to really stink in all my fantasy sports. Its a good thing I actually enjoy it, because if I didn't I think I'd be out by now.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I really need to find out who the hell I keepered (if any) in the H2H leage. And yes, I will be partaking in Flik's H2H leage. What I will do is make up a public Virtual GM and Rookie's game on nba.com. I wasn't able to give VGM my utmost attention because my father suffered a stroke at the end of october and that pretty much fucked me in regards to making picks. I feel this year, uninterupted, I can make that damn leaderboard.

UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'm up for either ones if I can be in the league.. prefer Yahoo though, but only because I've never played on NBA.com, but either is fine.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 (edited) [Cue Opening: Against The Rest - BrainCells] Hello folks and welcome to another Fantasy NBA season! *TSMers go wild because I'm like the awesomeness* I'm of course, your host for the Fantasy H2H League! I'm here once again to provide you with another highly entertaining NBA Fantasy Season filled with thrills of watching your team hold a huge lead against the best team, chilled as the suckiest team just knocked you out of contention, and downright stupidity by myself as I trade away everyone that is good on my team! *TSMers laugh at that last bit as it is so true* And so, I shall once again bring the Head 2 Head League alive. There are many things that are very different with the NBA H2H League than other leagues out there. First of all, we are a keeper league. So there are teams with keepers that are returning (unless I'm notified via PM otherwise). So without further ado... THE KEEPING MANAGERS~!!! *TSMers go wild as the managers are announced along with their players* razazteca - Paul Pierce and Carlos Boozer Will Scarlet - Tracy McGrady and Manu Ginobili Mindless Aggression - Jason Kidd and Peja Stojakovic the pinjockey - Shaq and AK47 Cartman - Ben Wallace and Stephon Marbury alkeiper - Allen Iverson and Michael Redd Lightning Flik - Vince Carter and Camillo Anthony Marvinsalunatic - Dirk Nowitzki and Baron Davis alfdogg - Ron Artest and Yao Ming Agent Bond 34 - Tim Duncan and Rasheed Wallace *TSMers go nuts with all the names above before finally calming down* So there you have it folks. There are your managers and keepers from last season! However, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Sandman9000 has pulled out of the H2H league. *TSMers go "aw..."* It's sad but true that he departs, but in his wake has left both Jermaine O'Neal and Michael Finley up for grabs in the draft! Of course the H2H League is a 16 team league, so since we are down to 10 teams that means there will be SIX new teams in joining our league. *TSMer give off plenty of mummurs of talk about who might join* Ladies and gentlemen, I can already assure you that this new flux of managers could make this season mighty interesting indeed! And I've already got two managers already so we are down to FOUR spots left! Now then, onto the important stuff about the league: ~ The H2H League is run by daily roster changes. Please remember to change them every day. ~ Roster (8): C, 2F, 2G, 1U and 2 benches. 2 DL spots. ~ Stats (7): Points, Assists, Blocks, Steals, 3 Points, Rebounds, FT%. ~ The draft is offline. Now then, since this league is quite different than normal, we have a different way of doing the draft. Since there are 6 teams joining (two returning), we must make sure that you don't get screwed out of good players. To ensure this, the draft goes something like this: First Two Rounds: The 6 Teams (The 4 New and 2 Returning) Every Round Following: Gotham Harlequinns Gwangju White Tigers Crimson Storm The Alfdogg Asylum Pocono Poison Fear The Slayers Pogo The Monkey The S.H.I.T. The Alleged Rapists The Court Jesters Better Than Utah Team 2004 Team Failure~! -> 2003-04 Champion Whalers On The Moon Guerreos Celtics Now then as you notice the above example was the draft order from last year, assuming everyone returned for the 04-05 season. If a new team joins, they will take over a slot containing a team in that order that has not returned. For the first two rounds though, you will be positioned according to my Magical Order Hat. For those of you who don't know my mythical hat, it's a being that fairly has selected everyone's placing, so don't worry about being screwed. No one has yet. Except HarleyQuinn. It’s offline btw, in case you didn't read that the first time. Draft time and date will be announced at a later date. And so there you have it. That's your 04-05 season stuff. Now join and be merry. (Aside: If there is enough of a demand, I will expand the league past 16 teams, but there is a cost and effect to doing so). *TSMers go wild at H2H Fantasy Basketball starting up once again* Edit: Cuban Linx - Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen So there's only 3 spots left. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Ladies and Gentleman! It has been confirmed that now that 14 players are returning to the Fantasy NBA H2H League! So there are only TWO spots open for new teams! Come on in and join the fun! The Official Draft From Round 3 On: HarleyQuinn~ Gwangju White Tigers Lightning Flik Alfdogg Alkeiper Steviekick~ Pogo The Monkey* Agent Bond 34~ Smell the ratings~ The Court Jesters* Cuban Linx Dangerous A~ Team Failure~! -> 2003-04 Champion* Whalers On The Moon* razazteca Celtics* Teams with stars by their names are teams I don't remember clearly who the managers are. Please inform me so I can correct this. Everyone with a TILDEBANG will be in particpate in our first two rounds (unless Dangerous A can re-find his picks that I blew up, my bad). First two rounds of the draft will consist of the five (or four) teams mentioned dropped into the Magical Sorting Hat (twice). I will then pick out their names and arrange a two mix pick round for them to grasp the best talent they can (as that's what you got for giving up keepers). Two mix being that you could have back to back picks or the first and last pick of the first and second rounds. And there you have it. That's the league as it is. If I can get one more person Krankor, I will be willing to consider adding two more teams to the league. Of course, the league will come down to the final decision.
