EricMM 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2005 One song that really made me sad when I was a kid was Puff the Magic Dragon, so now I still get a little blue when I hear it. Mike and the Mechanics - In the Living Years.

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 "The Lighthouse's Tale" by Nickel Creek and all of Streetcore, sortof
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 You know what song makes me happy and sad at the same time? "Redemption Song" as performed by Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash. Two of my favourites, now dead. They sound both weary and hopeful at the same time. Great, great track. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always wondered something about that track. Strummers' vocals sound EXACTLY the same as the solo version on Streetcore. Not "Same guy singing " exactly the same, like "same track" the same. And the version of Redemption Song with both of them wasn't on any of Cash's regualr CD's, just Unearthed, which came out after Strummer died. So, did they just have Cash sing some/all of the song and just splice them together to make it seem like they sang it together?
Da Maintenance Man 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Joe Budden - 3 Sides 2 a Story. Great storytelling but it's still quite a sad track.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Well with most/-est threads, they can only go so far before all the good material is exhausted and it just gets to the point where you list songs you know that kinda fit the category.

Anorak 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2005 'Dead Of Winter' by Eels is pretty bleak but the two songs that end the album after it offer a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Moonshiner. I like Uncle Tupelo's version the best.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2005 "Angel's Song" by Sevendust (I think it's by them) is a really good "sad" song. Doesn't really make me sad, I think it's a good song to listen to... This makes me sad. The video is about a million times worse, as many of the people from the "Strait Up" album are around a beach campfire and a visage of Lynn Strait walks through them and looks at them all. Holy shit, the first time I saw it I completely broke down. There are a few other songs on that album that are quite sad, though I can't remember titles off the top of my head. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 From the Six Feet Under Soundtrack Sia- "Breathe Me". Perhaps it's just because it was the song that finished the series off, but it's still hauntingly sad.
