SamoaRowe Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 All I can say is that I have voted five times already in my school's computer lab.
JoeDirt Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 We don't have an update yet on whether Shawn Michaels will wrestle tonight or not. Tickets for tonight's show at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee were not selling well. As of this morning, there were plenty of tickets available in every price range, including just a few rows deep ringside. Last night in Chicago, they were giving away coupons for $10 tickets for anyone who wanted to attend the show live. WWE was advertising on a lot of national radio shows today for the PPV. Tonight's line-up: *HHH defends the World title against either Michaels, Edge or Chris Benoit. The "plan" was Michaels, but if Benoit won the voting, he'd get the shot. I'd almost expect a title change here had things gone according to plan. They could sell the idea that the fans voting power caused a title change and the other two guys, or at least one of them (Edge) would be mad because it was his shot and fans didn't pick him. Lots of storyline possibilities. Of course, it would have to be a short reign since HHH has to be champ again by Rumble at the latest. Plus, HHH has to lose the title several more times to hit the magic 17. Now, I guess they'd better pray for Benoit, or it may be a long night. Or it may be Benoit no matter what. As far as a match goes, you can do a lot worse than HHH-Benoit. *Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton in either a cage, submission rules or falls count anywhere. The idea is a cage. They've done nothing to push the stips. I'm assuming this match goes on last, but it's not like anyone has told me. Of course Orton wins. And he should. You can get too cute in trying to surprise people, but Orton needs to be untouched for the next few months as the uncrowned champion. Him being 50-50 only weakens the overriding issue. Flair got his big twice a year win last night so he's not due until the week before Wrestlemania. Anyway, I expect this being the double juice match. The good thing about the cage is that Flair won't have to prove something to Jimmie Kimmel by taking a backdrop on the floor. *La Resistance vs. the two guys who don't get picked. Again, with Michaels' condition, this could go a number of ways. It's almost a sure thing this was planned as a title change, since La Resistance were not announced as champions when Rob Conway did a match taped for Sunday's Heat. I guess that could be the title change for the show and you don't have to do it in the world title match. *Chris Jericho defends IC title. While I think they want Batista in the slot, they seemed to push Shelton Benjamin more last night. Jericho-Benjamin is both an interesting and fresh match, and could be really good. Jericho-Batista wasn't good the last time on PPV, but Batista seems to have improved since then (like over the next 24 hours). *Eugene vs. Eric Bischoff in either a hair vs. hair, losers wears a dress or loser becomes a servant match. I'm guessing a hair match. Either Eugene wins, or Regal turns on Eugene. *Women's Battle Royal for the title with the women wearing either French Maid outfits, School Girl outfits or Nurse outfits. Yes, I can't wait to see Jazz in a School Girl outfit. *Carmella DeCesare vs. Christy Hemme in either an evening gown match, bra & panties or aerobics challenge. On TV, they made it clear you don't ant to vote for the aerobics challenge. I think this is just the people backstage who think Carmella is a bitch in real life paying to see her get in her underwear before she's kicked to the curb, or at least that was the original plan, since she's done well enough for a novice in promos that they may want to keep her. *Kane vs. Gene Snitsky in a pipe legal, chain legal or chair legal match. Lita has to cause Snitsky's downfall, or Kane protects Lita showing he's a true husband and it causes his downfall. The latter has plenty of time-consuming and nauseating storyline possibilities, particularly when Matt gets back. So pray for the former. This is Meltzer's preview...
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'd go if I could get a ride. I'm only 15 minutes away.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I can see them doing double duty with Benoit for the PPV. They have the tag match between Edge/Benoit vs. La Resistance. So basically at this point you know that HBK won. Then Triple H and Evolution injure HBK backstage to where he needs to be taken out by an ambulance. Then they say Benoit was 2nd in voting, put him in the ME, and Edge will cause him to lose.
The Mandarin Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'm still undecided on buying it or not. Pro- It's an extended Raw. Raw is entertaining once in a while. Con- Unforgiven was pretty lousy. The matches look boring on paper. Half of the show is a joke (Eugene/Bischoff, Kane/Snitsky, diva battle royale, those two chicks from that thing) I don't know what the main event will be. A bunch of people I don't care about will be wrestling (La Resistance, Chris Jericho, Edge, Orton, everybody 'cept Flair and Benoit, but they're telling me not to care about Benoit anymore anyways) IT'S THIRTY FOUR NINETY FIVE. Not anymore.
edotherocket Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 This PPV looks like it will be a bit of a mess. There's pretty much a need to fudge some of the voting just to get watchable matches out there.
Only The Strong Survive Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'm just gonna watch Sox/ Yanks instead of this... Stupid Tuesday PPV's
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Believe it or not, I was thinking of ordering myself. I've had the flu for the last few days and I have nothing to do tonight. I honestly might just watch a tape that I haven't gotten to or maybe even watch a movie. I really can't justify paying that much to see this.........
Robert Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Look for me at Taboo Tuesday. I'll be sitting in the upper area. Since I'm a cop, I get to meet some of the stars. The perks of being a pig.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'd go if I could get a ride. I'm only 15 minutes away. Someones lazy.
SamoaRowe Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I'd go if I could get a ride. I'm only 15 minutes away. Someones lazy. I would go to it if I were that close because I would have a freaking blast heckling this show in person. I would be way too amused. However, I have 35 dollars that I would rather spend on other things... like food... and No Mercy on dvd whenever it gets released...
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Eugene Vs. Erich Bischoff Battle Royal for the Women's Championship in Schoolgirl, Nurse, or French Maid attire Lingerie, Evening gown, or Aerobics Challenage Carmella Vs. Christy Man why does WWE put complete crap like the matches above on PPV's these days?? They make some of the stuff from the In Your House era of 1995 look good.
iliketurtles Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Sox/Yanks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Taboo Tuesday. Only match that would be intresting is Benoit/HHH with Benoit getting the title again.
slimm44 Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I've been reading some of the news and it is hilarious to read. They are saying how they are hoping the votes will be in favor of Benoit, but if not they are willing to work with HBK and Edge. They keep contradicting themselves with all the matches.
NoCalMike Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Question: Is anything eventful expected tonight, like title changes, or big storyline setups, or is this basically just Raw on Tuesday, on PPV and 3hrs instead of 2?
JoeDirt Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 What price would it take for you to buy Taboo Tuesday? I think I'd get it if it were $15-20, but even that would be a stretch and I really would rather buy two IWA-Mid South tapes with my $35 and help that promotion than order this thing. I'll be following along, though.
JoeDirt Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Question: Is anything eventful expected tonight, like title changes, or big storyline setups, or is this basically just Raw on Tuesday, on PPV and 3hrs instead of 2? Well there should be a tag title change. After that, who knows. They might want to have title changes to show the fans "look, your picks won the title!" and then have HHH and Jericho get their titles back later...but they might not, either. I don't really expect much special from this show. EDIT: It's weird having a PPV with no Sunday Night Heat before it.
deancoles Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Question: Is anything eventful expected tonight, like title changes, or big storyline setups, or is this basically just Raw on Tuesday, on PPV and 3hrs instead of 2? I'd expect either Edge or Lita to turn tonight(maybe both) and if Edge doesn't turn then I'll guess he and Benoit will win the Tag Titles again.
AlaskanHero Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Just out of curiousity, how many people are actually buying the PPV?
Guest bigm350 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Just out of curiousity, how many people are actually buying the PPV? Not me.
Guest Phenom Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Just out of curiousity, how many people are actually buying the PPV? Not me. or Me.
JoeDirt Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 The Wrestling Observer poll predictions (which are almost always right) had this PPV predicted to do under 200,000 buys, which would make it the second straight WWE PPV to get that and another one of the lowest bought PPVs of all time.
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 200,000 + 175,00 = 375,000 PPV buys in October, and that's what WWE will say and be concerned about.
JoeDirt Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Diva Battle Royal up first Well that's a great opener...
Exslade ZX Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Wow...the stage looks pretty...crappy. It's a 'keyboard' And schoolgirls won with 53%
Repo Man jr Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 School Girls thing won the vote. match later
Exslade ZX Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 No...first match is IC title match.
