MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 It's all because of Muggy. No- it's cause of me. The Sox are 10-0 when I don't watch the first inning. Then watch the first inning tomorrow
the max 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 Wasn't the curse something that was fabricated by a schmuck Boston sportswriter? Help me out on this Bostonites. Dan Shaughnessy of, the Globe I believe. He started the thing to "explain" why they hadn't won a title since 1918. Ignoring the fact that a majority of the time, they put a poor team on the field, he focused on the fact that everytime they made it to the World Series, they lost obviously. Each time, they were beaten by a better team. 1967 was their best shot, but I don't think that Christ himself could have hit Bob Gibson at that point. 1975 was a good shot too, but they ran into a better team. 1986 came down to the infamous Buckner grounder, and he shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with. The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 Bob, I'm just giddy with the thoughts of how these fans would react.... And it's my last chance to talk shit during the Offseason and keep the advantage next year. Dames

The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 Any city really. That's part of the reason why a Sox/Cubs Series last year...I wouldn't have minded too much. What can I say? I'm a fan of the Evil Empire, taking away the hopes and dreams of baseball fans across the country in revenge for the shitty 80's. Dames

Guest Brian Report post Posted October 27, 2004 Wasn't the curse something that was fabricated by a schmuck Boston sportswriter? Help me out on this Bostonites. Dan Shaugnessy, who writes for the Globe, has a couple of books out about the curse. If you ever see him on TV talking about, you can just see his eyes glow with all those books he's selling. He literally seems happy about his team failing in the past.

treble 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 Well, technically, they can't be the first team to blow a 3-0 lead.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 And as for the anti-climacticness, I don't really care It would just be fitting that the Sox won the WS by beating the two best teams of in MLB this year, as well as the two franchises which historically gave the Sox so much trouble
