Guest Phenom Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Well, the curse is dead. Long live the curse. And Anglesault's head exploded like Scanners. Post your "OMGWTFBBQ" remarks here.
Guest Smues Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Now NEVER FUCKING EVER let a curse be spoken of again. God I hope this ends that curse bullshit.
Dogbert Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Well, the Cubs are still cursed... they shoulda just let the guy bring his goat into the park. Go Sox.
The Electrifyer Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Wtf were Jimmy Fallon doing with Drew Barrymore on that field?!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Isn't it kind of silly to create a OaO thread when there's a 15 page thread already devoted to the series?
lomasmoney Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Wow, i never thought Boston would win it all. The Tigers now have a longer World Series drought than the Red Sox. That's one thing I never thought I would say
Guest cpac Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Hopefully the idiot Red Sox fand destroy the city.
Guest Phenom Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Isn't it kind of silly to create a OaO thread when there's a 15 page thread already devoted to the series? Because that's about the World Series. This is about the HOLY SHIT THE SOX WON~! factor.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 But does it have to be One And Only?
Guest Phenom Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 But does it have to be One And Only? Yes. Yes it does.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 I think this deserves it. What about the White Sox? Don't they have a drought?
Slayer Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Hell the Cardinals have a drought The Curse of Don Deckinger... or Joaquin Andujar
SamoaRowe Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 As a New Hampshire student, I cannot wait to see how few people show up to my 9:30 class tomorrow... I'm not even sure the professor will show up, I bet he's as drunk as any college kid right now. Congrats Sox, now hopefully my peer will shut up.
Ced Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 As the Cubs get a small glimmer of hope...maybe. Anybody have a pool on how much property damage is going to be caused in Boston and the surrounding areas tonight?
CanadianChris Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Channel 5 was reporting the police were using pepper spray already.
Zetterberg is God Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Wtf were Jimmy Fallon doing with Drew Barrymore on that field?! They're filming a movie that revolves around their characters' love for the Sox. Anyway, congrats to the Sox. They wanted it and they got it.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Well, here's my piece. For all of you who say that Moneyball hasn't won shit, I present the 2004 Boston Red Sox. It's not too late to embrace the sabermetric revolution.
Mik Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 I got Bill James new historical abstract in the mail today. Combined with Baseball Prospectus, the package weighed 8 pounds. You forgot to mention they are both practically textbooks!
Bored Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Oh please Al we all know it was the INTAGIBLES~ of Orlando Cabrera that won it for them. I'm sure someone will find some moment in the playoffs where the Red Sox played "small ball" and give all the credit to that. Anyways I'd like to challenge White Sox fans to start martyring themselves like Red Sox fans have for the last 80+ years. Hell they have an obvious "curse" from the 1919 Black Sox and they already had gone one year longer than the Red Sox since winning a world title.

The Curse of Shoeless Joe isn't as big as the Curse of the Billy Goat.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 I heard a Who's Your Daddy chant on espn.

I believe after the BoSox did so well in the postseason, the Farrelly Brothers re-shot the ending to go along with the BoSox WS victory. And yes, this is amazing. I believe a tear might have fallen.

the max Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Still unbelievable. And it wasn't very stressful. They rolled in and kicked ass in every conceivable way. Red Sox 2-4 starters: 20IP, 10H and 0 runs. They earned it. I've already ordered two World Series shirts and one hat. One shirt I'll be saving for the rest of my life, maybe to give to my kid someday.
Angle-plex Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 I'm really in shock and haven't fully realized that they had won it yet. This is something I will be telling my kids about in 20 years.
Justice Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Wow, i never thought Boston would win it all. The Tigers now have a longer World Series drought than the Red Sox. That's one thing I never thought I would say Uh... The Tigers won it in 1984, dude.
