Guest jm29195 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 The WWE released Johnny Stamboli, Rodney Mack and Jazz from their contracts today. We wish them the best in their future endeavors. [Credit: WWE.com] Not fussed about Rodney Mack but with Jazz gone aswell they've killed their women's division in a day and I always thought Stambolli had potential, at least in the FBI tag team with Nunzio.... razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Now Stamboli & Palumbo can go to TNA to teach Disqo & Swinger how to be stereotypical mafia characters.
Guest jm29195 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I wonder who Palumbo's gonna team with first on the indy circuit, Gunn, O Haire, or Stambolli?
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 This is crazy. But if it leads to better, younger talent coming up then it's all good.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 4, 2004 This is crazy. But if it leads to better, younger talent coming up then it's all good. It'll just lead to them signing more bodybuilders to OVW and trying to teach them to be wrestlers.

benoit4hor 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I think it's time for someone with some $$$ to start a new fed. Add all those, well maybe not all but most of those people as well as some of the other free-agents you'd have some names people knew and be off to a good start. Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted November 4, 2004 While there at it, why don't they get rid of Stacy, Torrie, & Dawn, the Diva aspect of WWE is stale and I would be happy to see it go bye bye. I can watch porn to see hot women, don't need it in wrestling. If 5-6 more wrestlers get cut, maybe the brand extention can go bye bye as well. I'm glad to see WWE cut the fat and get back to a smaller roster. I mean the creative isn't smart enough to do much with some of the bigger names. Plus TNA can get some more talent and "maybe" we can see some competition, but that's doubtful.

Guest Prof_Plague Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I can't believe so many wrestling have been released this past week, little alone this past year. A few of their most recent firings are rather questionable. But at least there'll be new talent coming-up.

Guest JMA Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I'm starting to suspect that the brand split might be coming to an end. Or maybe a bunch of young guys are getting called up. In any case, the women's division is pretty much dead now. They might as well have Trish beat Lita and then retire the belt for a while. Why haven't Holly and Tomko been fired yet? Oh well, I suppose this is good news for TNA.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 This was posted in another thread. I thought we were up to 12 already cut in the last few days. Maybe in the morning, though... I don't remember WWE ever cutting this many during their regular "spring cleaning." Are they in more trouble than we thought?

Next year could be the beginning of the end for the WWF as they'll post huge losses after trying to make those movies.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Well it seems they are cutting people all week so I wouldn't be surprised to see others released later today and tomorrow.
Stephen 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 My only problem with the cuts is that they are being replaced by 3 diva search finalists, tough enough winner and i'd say a few of the tough enough guys who get cut will be signed. I guess 3 diva search finalists > Nidia, Gail Kim and Jazz. Yeah we don't want a women's divison, just give us fake tittied girls who do nothing.

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Regarding the Women's Division, we still have Trish, Molly, Victoria for workrate, and Lita for "name value", although she sucks. I'm guessing maybe Alexis Laree, Jillian Hall, and/or Trudi DeNucci will get called up from OVW to replace the three fired females. I wouln't call it DEAD, but Jazz was a good worker and Kim was improving, so those both come as a shock. A-Train and Palumbo have done nothing in eons. Train made what, one RAW appearance since Draft 2004? Mack has done jack since Henry had surgery and Long turned face for Smackdown. Good riddance. Stamboli I was digging recently with the FBI face turn. The tag division is the other one that's hurting, so of course they break up a team that was getting along fairly well in their new role. Karc 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I guess 3 diva search finalists > Nidia, Gail Kim and Jazz. WWE Logic at its finest. Seriously, it's just wrong. This whole closet cleaning is a money-saving tactic instead of talent-saving, and its going to show very quickly and bite WWE in the ass, as usual.

She's a brilliant investment!
Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! Is it a clearence sale or something? Why are they firing all these people? Mack was ok. Jazz was a great women's wrestler, and Stamboli is a great character and solid worker. Seriously WHAT THE FUCK?

Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted November 4, 2004 One thing to think of, the injury bug hasn't been as bad this year so far, can you imagine if 2-3 of the bigger names on say RAW happen to get a bad injury soon (not counting Shawn Michaels). Folks, we are going to see RAW live for the Manhatten Center, in a matter of 2 years. With main events of Christian vs. Maven. Somehow I can't help but laugh, Vince & Stephanie has done all of this themselves.

BHK 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 All of those wrestlers released, and yet WWE still has too many people under contract, in my opinion. I say get rid of some more. Although, this isn't close to when WCW had over 100 wrestlers under contract at once.
