Youth N Asia Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Nice day after nice day over and over again, then yesterday out of nowhere here in Flint, MI boom...6 inches. Looks great outside I'm a mark for winter, I love this stuff. Anyone else got snow yet?
Guest Fook Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Yep, snowed here (Waterloo, Ont) yesterday. Doesn't help that the streets here are like wind tunnels. We've been getting 50+ km/h winds all day. Not fun.
Star Ocean 3 Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I had the air conditioner on a few days ago.
Matt Young Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 As much as I hate the cold weather, I love having snow around Christmas. It gets me in the holiday spirit. for the first 20 Christmases of my life (counting the year I was born of course) there was always snow on or around Christmas since I was in central Illinois, where the winters can be pretty harsh as far as midwestern states go. However, I now reside in Southern California, and it's 70 degrees and sunny outside. Palm trees line the street. I'm sure as fuck not going to complain, but I will indeed miss the snow.
DerangedHermit Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Had 1/2 an inch on Nov. 14, which is the earliest I can think that there was accumulating snow (i.e. not flurries). It melted in two hours though.
Eclipse Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 I think this was the earliest snow ever fell around where I live. I live near NYC, and around the 20th of this month, we had half an inch fall, and then freeze up, and then melt the next day. I was surprised. Usually, the first snow falls late December.
Tawren Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Calgary and area: Not a shit-ton of snow, but some. The problem is, any snow (even a teensy amount) makes drivers automatically suck. "Oh no, a small amount of snow! I better fish tail in the school zone!" I almost hit this bitch soccer mom type today when she started doing that.
The Czech Republic Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 light dusting last night around northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin. It melted by 11 this morning
Matt Young Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Czech- Are you the ChicagoLoop guy I have on my AIM buddy list from talking to like 8 months ago before I moved and was without net access?
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Maybe if you clicked on his AIM console, you'd find out. And I wish I could see snow.
Lightning Flik Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Edmonton currently has no snow in the city (or very little of it still on the ground). So no. No snow for me.
Lord of The Curry Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Maybe if you clicked on his AIM console, you'd find out. And I wish I could see snow. No you don't. Don't you ever, ever say that. Forget Bush, the true White Devil that this world needs to fear is snow.
yankovic fan Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Just in time for Thanksgiving, south Louisiana has finally got some 50 degree weather. As far as snow, we haven't had any since 89-90. Sometime around 95 we had a flurry, but no significant blanket of snow for almost 15 years.
The Metal Maniac Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 And I wish I could see snow. Come spend one winter where I live. You'll change your tune really quick. We had about 15-20 cm, but it's about all melted.
ArkhamGlobe Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Up here in northern Sweden there is a bit of snow right now, I'd say about an inch or two, or in the part where I live atleast, I'd imagine there is more snow in the inland, especially around the mountains.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 It's unlikely that the novelty of snow would wear off on me at all, at least not for years, and even if it did, it'd be a plenty more interesting environment than where I am currently.
alfdogg Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Last night was the first time it snowed here.
Guest CronoT Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 I almost never snows here. We got a lot of rain this month, though. It was really damn cold rain, though.
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Winter > Summer. Well, aside from the first 2-3 weeks in January when we are in the Deep Freeze. The rest of the time its great.
The Metal Maniac Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 It's unlikely that the novelty of snow would wear off on me at all Snow is less a novelty then it is a hideous inconvience that cuts off your power, makes the roads dangerous, forces you to go outside and shovel the driveway, the whole time waiting for the plow to come and fill your driveway with snow again, makes you cold & wet, and in some cases (like mine) makes your job three times as hard. Sure, snow can be cool, if you're a kid who doesn't have to shovel and drive and work. And plus, snow days mean time to have fun, not time to sit around and think about how much money you're not making. As you may have noticed, I hate snow with an unbridled passion.
Guest BrokenWings Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Thunder Bay, Ontario: No official snow as of yet...I say official since while it has snowed, it melts within a few hours and therefore I don't really consider it a snowfall. I figure we'll get lasting snow within the next week, though.

The camaraderie with the snow and the Holiday Season while shovelling and the like would provide a welcome ambience.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 I'd shoot all snow if I had the bullets.
MrRant Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Problem is that all the bullets are in Texas. And they don't get much snow.

I woke up to snow on the ground this morning. I hate this white shit. People can't drive in the first few snowfalls in the year, which only makes it worse. Humbug!
