Guest Fook Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Hazel and Phinnaeus This kid's going to go through life named after a Godwinn... That's gonna suck.
dubq 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 This may surprise you, but most of the educated world doesn't associate the name Phinnaeus with a little-known professional wrestler.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Amazingly enough, I didn't think of Dennis Knight's old moniker either It just makes me think of a British snob Also, at least Julia didn't name her daughter "Apple"... I guess there's some credibility there, but Hazel?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 eh, Hazel isn't a fairly uncommon name, I've known at least two in my life...never knew an apple or a phinnaeus...
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Well, speaking of name association, I can't hear "Hazel" without thinking about that old sitcom...

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 There's nothing wrong with Hazel as a name. As someone said, it's not uncommon at all.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Hazel Moder sounds ok. Phinneaus is a bit odd, but hey, they aren't my kids, and since they'll likely be private tutored, so no worries about getting beat up or anything. Still, P.I.G. was the first thing I thought of. Ice-T's character on SVU was the second. They should totally call him "Phin".
Tawren 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 This was a huge deal to the people at my job today. Why? I don't know. I've never got the obsession with celebrities. I never will. But I hate the people that do. So very, very much.
the max 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 I heard on the radio that she reported that the name was Phineus but she lied. She'll tell people what the kid's real name is someday.
geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2004 Oh thank goodness, I was so worried some tragedy would befall this princess. I can finally rest now that she has safely delivered these two wonders into the world.
Guest BDC Report post Posted November 30, 2004 If she gave everyone fake names of her kids, that'd be great. That way she isn't a complete retard like Paltrow.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 Being someone with a weird name, I can say those two aren't bad at all. That name being.... My last name was not only ridiculously long, but also ridiculously SouthEast Asian (hey, it's a big continent) sounding, but the elementary school filled with mostly white kids I went to were more fascinated than, say, insulting about it. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 Jon Stewart tore this news story a new whole on The Daily Show last night. ABC News Woman: "Last night Julia Roberts gave the greatest performance of her career..." Stewart (in a high voice): "Apparently she's never seen Mystic Pizza." And then... Stewart: "She named them Hazel and Phinnaeus because she hates children."
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 At least it's not as bad as naming your kid "God", lik Grace Slick. I mean, there's nothing wrong with God but you don't name your kid that!

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 My last name was not only ridiculously long, but also ridiculously SouthEast Asian Souphanousinphone Close, but not quite. The worst was the fact that it started with a P. When I went to the hospital (and I went often), they would page me by calling for "Daniel P-17". Or kids in school trying to shorten it, but just being lazy and calling me pee. I didn't care at the time, and still don't now, as it was just a nick with no harm intended, but it was embarrassing in public it was. I'm still waiting for Agent to declare his name.
