Jay Leno.

I fucking hate Jay Leno.

Oh shit, I almost forgot.

Spongebob fucking Squarepants.

I really don't get that one.

I dont think I've talked to anyone who likes Jay Leno. I can't stand him either.

I've never really found Mad TV to be funny (except for a choice few of the cast like Phil Lamaar).

I don't get the total Seinfeld dislike, but then again I'm not bombarded with all the sitcoms down here so I can still get into them.

I think Jay Leno is hilarious...

3. Spongebob or any of that fucking horseshit

4. Futurama

5. MAD TV

- Futurama (it's got cancelled for a reason and no, it wasn't because it got shafted by FOX)

- Friends (poor man's Seinfeld, folks)

- Chappelle's Show (Dave's my boy, but thanks to bandwagon fans, this show screams "15 minutes of fame")

Also, personal tastes vary, but your sense of humor is obviously lacking something if you hate Seinfeld. I could understand some people not liking it, but HATING it? Go get a sense of humor.

I have the embarrassment of my girl not liking Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Anchorman. She didn't hate either, but doesn't find either to be that funny.

Reno 911 (I like it but it's not THAT funny)

Jay Leno

Will and Grace ( I hate the writing on that show, Hate it)

Kathy Griffin (her "Celebrity Obsession" act is starting to wear thin big time)

Michael Ian Black ( I was seriously waiting for Norm MacDonald to kick his ass on Celebrity Poker Showdown)

Maya Rudolph on SNL ( a joke that she made the 25 most funny people in America list)

Dave Mordal and Rich Voss on LCS (I was suprised all the love they got on this board over the summer, I just don't think they are that great, although Dave was a lot funnier this year than last)

That "Goodbye to 2004" special on Comedy Central last weekend was SO disappointing, as it had Norm (I chuckled a little, though), Kathy Griffin (yes, her brand of "chick comedy" sucks), and whatever the hell Colin Quinn did at the end (geez, negative much?)

They advertised Denis Leary, but all he was in was a short (but damn funny) MasterCard "Priceless" spoof about Red Sox fans.

Friends- People saying random stupid things just isn't funny.

Seinfeld- I've taken dumps that were funnier than anything 've ever seen on here.

Family Guy- Watching it though the first time was okay, but when I watched a bunch of the episodes again later on, the jokes just fell flat, especially that shitty banned episode concerning Jews.

Colin Quinn- I'd probably short circuit my brain trying to figure out how he got so popular when he's one of the dullest comedians I've ever heard.

Sealab 2021 without Captain Murphy

Kids In the Hall- Some of the skits were admittedly funny, but more times then not I ended up just sitting there wondering if I was supposed to laugh at something.

Kings of Comedy had one good act and that was Bernie Mac. The rest of them were rather awful, especially Steve Harvey who should just give it up already.

i never found Monty Python THAT funny. It's good but nothing amazing.

Everyone I knew was like "The Holy Grail" is the funniest movie EVER!

I finally saw it a few months ago.

It has a certain charm to it, but the humor is just awful.

That stems from people who repeat what they've heard without being able to understand whether it's true or not. A sense of humor is much rarer than you'd think. That's why people laugh a lot more in groups.

Oh yeah... I thought I liked David Cross for a long time, but I realized he's only average. I needed to get a feel for his Mr. Show castmates on their own to see he really wasn't doing anything there except drawing attention to himself. He did put out one great comedy album... but then his next was a total rehash. Not to mention his politics are terrible which is forgivable except he talks about it way too much. We'll see if he improves, but as of now... yeah, average.

Odenkirk, however, I've only liked more and more the more I see him.

- Friends (poor man's Seinfeld, folks)

I can't really disagree with that, although I feel that Seinfeld has really never been duplicated (note: I've never seen CYE, so I can't compare the two).

Friends is a bit simpler, they gravitate more towards the formula sitcom route, and as such has been copied (mostly unsuccessfully) much more than Seinfeld.

Michael Ian Black ( I was seriously waiting for Norm MacDonald to kick his ass on Celebrity Poker Showdown)

I think it's just the VH1 people that find him funny. Then again I've heard they brought in Bradford How as a VJ and made him act normal, so I suppose they aren't exactly the best people to determine if one is funny or not.

Dave Mordal and Rich Voss on LCS (I was suprised all the love they got on this board over the summer, I just don't think they are that great, although Dave was a lot funnier this year than last)

It's all relative. I do think that Mordal's storytelling style is great, but it's made better seeing as the other LCS1 comics sucked.

People who hate Spongebob are the Squidward's in the world. C'mon folks, revel in SpongeBob's joyful innocence. Ever the optimist, SpongeBob manages to make a bad situation wonderful. If I could live in a fucking pineapple under the sea; I would. Its not so much a HA-HA comedy as just a heavenly 10 minute ditty that allows one to feel young again. I've regained my youth through Spongebob.

Okay, my list.

1. Family Guy - fucking horrid. All of the characters are beyond unlikable. I wish they all contracted aids and died.

2. Jim Carrey - he was funny at first, but he can only recycle the same shtick so often. As i said earlier Cable Guy and Dumb & Dumber are the best.

3. Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, and the new newschick - they ruined weekend update. That blonde bitch repeated her "Fity Cent" 4 times on Saturday because it was the only thing the audience laughed at. They've ruined SNL

4. Ray Romano - as if. this guy is a one trick pony. And his one tricks is fucking horrible.

5. Friends - this was really bad. the jokes were written by 10 year old girls.

TOP 5 FUNNIEST

1. Chevy Chase (until 1991)

2. Owen Wilson/Ben Stiller (owen writes amazingly funny movies, and is hilarious in nearly everything he does. Stiller plays the spaz perfectly, but has to be surrounded his his buddies for the best results)

3. Dave Chapelle (fuck off, the show is funny as hell)

4. Adam Sandler (only for Wedding Singer, Little Nicky, and 8 Crazy Nights)

5. Bill Murray (always great)

Close:

Pauly Shore

David Spade

Simpsons

Trailor Park Boys

Will Farrell (but Elf was bad)

I find Family Guy funny for the same reason I like MST3K so much. The constant bombardment of pop culture references just tickles me pink. The parts that most of my friends like are parts I'd classify as Adult Swim/Guerrilla Humor, just random shit for the sake of it. I just can't enjoy ATHF or Sealab 2021 all that much. To me, they drip with the sentiment of trying too hard. More than anything else, "look how wacky and unpredictably random this is!" humor pisses me off.

Mike Myers performance in the "Cat in the Hat"

I wanted to punch him in the fucking face.

Re: Cat in the Hat, Mad TV Kathy Griffin: I'm pretty sure most of these are largely reviled. And if you've been on Hollywood Squares, and your name isn't Triumph, you probably suck, and always have.

I don't think ATHF tries that hard. That's one of its charms. Most of the episodes are 11 minutes of stuff that suggest the creators thought was funny and thus, threw it in the episode. Matter of fact, after watching a episode creative session on the latest DVD set, that's basically what they do. And that's a very dangerous approach to any show, but it works here. Probably because a lot of the humor is clever and you've gotta have a quick wit to really get the most out of it.

The fact that it's really like nothing else you've ever seen is an appealing factor, too. Whereas you say Family Guy is like the Simpsons, you can't say ATHF is like this or that. Because there's really nothing to compare it to. I guess I just dislike how so many people write it off because it's a show about talking food. That's my girlfriend's problem. She'll say that it's stupid because who wants to watch a show about a talking meatball? Never mind that she watches shit like Fairly Oddparents. So yeah, talking meatball or fairy godparents that are also fish?

Carl has to be one of the funniest cartoon characters ever, too. I think the fact that he's probably the most realistic cartoon character you'll ever see and he lives next to a giant milkshake makes it even better.

Posted

I've certainly seen enough Adult Swim material through my friends to say with some certainty I'm not a big fan of it. While hanging out at various peoples' places I've probably seen 3/4 of each series easily despite never going out of my way to watch it myself.

Who's Line Is It Anyway?

I haven't laughed one time during that show.

US or UK version?

UK version I can understand, it isn't funny.

US version is masterfully written.
