Mik Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 The song is offensive, sure, but the best part of this clip is the way the black woman totally attacks the Asian woman for not agreeing with what she's doing. http://www.3030radio.com/longer_hot97_tsunami.mp3
GreatWhiteNope Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 The show's sponsored by a cell-phone company. Hilarious. EDIT: I don't mean the parody - it's fucking terrible.
Adam Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I doubt its as good as 'Tsuna-them, Tsuna-she, Tsuna-you, Tsuna-me', done by the guys from Frenzal Rhomb knocking the Australian public for patting themselves on the abck all the time for giving so much money.
Guest sek69 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I wondered why the right wing radio hosts were jumping all over this, Hot 97 is a Hip-Hop R&B station.
Vern Gagne Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I wondered why the right wing radio hosts were jumping all over this, Hot 97 is a Hip-Hop R&B station. Of course right wing=racist.
Guest sek69 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I wondered why the right wing radio hosts were jumping all over this, Hot 97 is a Hip-Hop R&B station. Of course right wing=racist. I've heard local and nationally syndicated radio shows do worse than this and they never got mentioned on Sean Hannity's radio or TV show. Suddenly a black station does something tasteless and they're all over it as if it was the first time a radio show ever did something in poor taste. But yeah, I'm sure race had nothing to do with it, I'm sure it's just a coincedence that Rush calls the NBA the Thug Baskeball Assocication and blames the Pacers/Pistons fight on black culture, and Bil O'Reilly has a never ending hard on when it comes to rap music. What was I thinking, of course right wingers would never be racist.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Pretty funny clip/song.
Perfxion Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 My god that was horrid, not funny in the least. Glad I stopped listening to Hot97 in the mornings a LONG time ago.
GreatWhiteNope Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Jin, an Asian freestyle rapper, made a response - it's pretty sweet: http://www.alljin.com/Audio/Exclusives/jin...mi_response.mp3
Ted the Poster Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I'm all for tasteless parodies, but that song just sucked.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I've heard local and nationally syndicated radio shows do worse than this and they never got mentioned on Sean Hannity's radio or TV show. Suddenly a black station does something tasteless and they're all over it as if it was the first time a radio show ever did something in poor taste. What was I thinking, of course right wingers would never be racist. You fucking moron. Because the station is a Rap/Hip Hop station means nothing in this case. It was a disgusting thing to do, don't cloud the issue by saying it's only being denounced because it was form a black station. Your comments about the NBA and Rap mean nothing in this topic. How does Rush's comments about the NBA have anything to do with the song being played? This topic is about the song played on Hot97. Don't bring this racist bullshit in here when all it does is deflects attention away from the topic at hand.
Art Sandusky Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Which is a topic of grave importance! Fuck man, you've got the best name on the board. Don't fuck it up.
Vern Gagne Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Pretty funny clip/song. In embarassingly train wreck kind of way, than Yes it was.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Upon further reflection, I should say that the reaction of people getting all up in arms and such is what's funny about it.
Vern Gagne Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I'm more up in arms on how unoriginial and unfunny it is.
Ripper Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Well, they suspended the show indefinately and hopefully they will fire the hell out of Miss Jones, DJ Envy, and Todd Lynn for playing and giggling at that shit. Miss Info should be able to keep her job since she spoke on air about how offensive and stupid it is and got into a argument with Miss Jones about it. Miss Jones...this bitch is the on who got up all angry and left out the station a few years back when Star was playing plane crash sounds and people screaming in the background while announcing Aaliyah's death. So its BAD to poke fun at 6 people dying but hundreds of thousands...that cool. Fuck her.
Black Lushus Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 is he? I mean seriously? I saw his album at Best Buy and my initial reaction was "Asian Rapper? WTF?" but hey if he's good I'll give him his due...
Ripper Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 is he? I mean seriously? I saw his album at Best Buy and my initial reaction was "Asian Rapper? WTF?" but hey if he's good I'll give him his due... He is a great freestyler. I didn't have the guts to buy his album. I need someone else to buy it first and let me know how it is.
IllustriousOne Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 He's an amazing freestyler. I acquired his album out of curiosity, after I saw his freestyle stuff, and it's okay. It's kind of a "fun" album, really. There's a track with Kanye West on it that's pretty cool, but other than that, I think it's kind of run of the mill.
Ted the Poster Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 There's a track with Kanye West on it that's pretty cool, but other than that, I think it's kind of run of the mill. "Jesus Woks"?
Black Lushus Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 meatwad i just blew snot outta my nose from laughing, you fucker!
ant_7000 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 After I heard "Learn Chinese" I didn't even want to buy Jin's album. To me he's just a battle freestyler who can't make constructive songs.
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 When Mancow's Morning Madhouse made a tsunami song, it was actually funny.
The Czech Republic Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 After I heard "Learn Chinese" I didn't even want to buy Jin's album. To me he's just a battle freestyler who can't make constructive songs. That clip where he blasts the guy for lapsing into reggae made me laugh
Modern Man's Hustle Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 When Mancow's Morning Madhouse made a tsunami song, it was actually funny. Mancow's still alive? He was on the air for awhile here, then he mysteriously vanished. Is he still popular, or is it one of those "I used to be cool" sort of things?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 After I heard "Learn Chinese" I didn't even want to buy Jin's album. To me he's just a battle freestyler who can't make constructive songs. Yep. I clicked Vitamin X's profile for some reason today, and he has "Tsunami" in his IM name. Heartless!
Edwin MacPhisto Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 I actually wanted to see how old he was so I could decide what to recommend in his "I like books" thread. And to see if it would be legal when I raped him.
