Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I'll try this but my memory truly does suck. A lot of great shows I know I love I can't truly remember Seinfeld -- The blood episode where Jerry gets a blood transfer from Kramer Wonder Years -- Something from here deserves to be on. Great, depressing show Samurai Jack -- "Couple on a train" although that might not be the name of it -- Everything I love about the show. The coolness factor is in maximun overdrive and the innovaive thinking is here as well. Mad props to the episode where Jack jobs to the time portal dude as well. Amazing show with a lot of great episodes Weird Science --Video game episode where Gary and Wyatt play live action pong to save the world. X-Men Animation show -- I don't know, some episode where they mention Wolverine and Canada. For the markout factor alone of seeing an animation show mention Canada. Great show that was partly responsable for all TV shows having ratings now. Astroboy from the 1980s -- From the most underrated show of all time comes a fantastic 2 parter where the backstory of Atlas and Vivian is shown. Charactor development, heartbreaking and plain out coolness, this has it all. It immediatly lets the viewer think twice about Atlas for the rest of the show. Astroboy -- Well, I could easily fill out all 10 picks with this show. One show that has to be mentioned though is the robot tournament. Growing up Astroboy wasn't my favourite show but I appreciated it because of the way it made me think. What I did do growing up is take a note of what the best show I ever saw on TV was and it was this one. Everytime I watched a great episode of whatever show on TV I'd think back and try to remember if it was better than this. Nothing ever was. I rewatched this unedited about a year ago with my good friend who had also remember it very fondly from his youth. Did it hold up? Oh yeah. I just wished they made this into a 4 parter or something which they easily could've. Fantastic robots, imagination and moral judgements are the highlight of this. Wrestling fans in particular should love this. Tiger Mask 1969 -1971 -- Episode where Mask takes on ? in maybe the best fight I have ever seen from anywhere. Blood, physcology, ring bells, broken tables, emotion. This makes FMW look tame. Dragonball -- Episodes around where Goku climbs up that tower to obtain the "unreachable" water. Dragonball is actually better than Z. Transformers Robots in Disguise -- Episode where Optimus Prime has to come back and save the Autobots from the hate plague. The same reason why I love Resident Evil and Predator. I love everyone going down until there's only one survivor left to fight the enemy. When it's Optimus Prime baby that makes it all the sweeter. Death: Choose your form of competition. :: Gary and Wyatt look blankly at each other :: :: Room turns into Pong game :: Wyatt: Sorry Gary, it was the first thing I thought of! GOLD. Genie --- "Remember, the whole world's counting on you .... so don't choke!" I thought the whole episode was gold. Especially for video game lovers. Gary and Wyatt playing to the wee hours of the morning, G & W shooting each other with their real life video game guns, Gary's confession while dying, Chett's military ammo stash hidden underneath the house and his warning about not telling mother and the "Nash" finkerpoke of doom that eliminates Chett. Loved it all. I think there might have even been a He-Man belt buckle reference in there unless that was another ep.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I'll c/p my list from DVDVRMB. I'll only count one show once. 1. FIREFLY - Out of Gas. This had everything in it. Inventive storytelling, great acting, character development, humour, action, etc.. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc .etc. (Considerations: Serenity, Trash, Objects in Space) 2. ANGEL - Not Fade Away. The best finale I've ever seen for any show. It almost brings me to tears at certain points, makes me jump up and scream "FUCK YEAH!" at others. Great resolution. (Considerations: Home, Apocalypse Nowish, Habeas Corpses, Redefinition, Reprise, Hole in the World, Destiny... fuck it was a great show) 3. BUFFY - The Gift. Joss Whedon crafted Buffy Season 5 and The Gift was the end result. Everything that was done came together, all the little things like Spike being invited in, to Buffy-bot, to the War Hammer. Essays could (and probably have) be written on this episode. (Considerations: Hush, The Body, Restless) 4. SIMPSONS - Homer goes to College. "Hello Dean, you are a stupid head." It's the pinnacle of Homer Simpson and is what the past 10 years has been trying to recreate to no success. (Treehouse of Horror IV, Homer at Bat, Homer in Space, The Greyhound one, Itchy and Scratchy Land) 5. DEEP SPACE NINE - The Vistor. Tony Todd plays an adult Jake Sisko who tries to free his father from a temperal subspace thingamajig. The most emotional Trek episode, by far. It is just beautiful storytelling and Avery Brooks' performance surpasses every Captains by a country mile. I love me some Picard, but Stewart couldn't hit those notes. (Considerations: All Good Things (Prt 1 and 2), Cause and Effect, Parallels, The Inner Light.. ok, those are TNG episodes.) 6. LOST - Walkabout. This is where Terry O'quinn became GOD and this show became a replacement for Angel. "DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!", I still get goosebumps. (Considerations: Pilot -1,2-, Confidence Man, Raised by Another) 7. ASTROBOY - Worlds Greatest Robot (1 and 2). This show, in general, shaped a lot of who I am today. For a 6 year old watching this sort of content, which was really adult for what it was, it was mind blowing. This particular episode seemed much longer as a kid than it does today, but it still fucking rocks. Completely unconventional for a cartoon back then to have the main villain turn good and sacrifice himself for Astrogirl. (Consideration: Blackie Young - I would have put this first, cause it was amazing. A robot hating human, who hates robots because they killed his mother. Who he thought was his mother turns out to be a robot nurse. Fucking sad, sad, sad, sad, sad shit.) 8. SOUTH PARK - Red Hot Catholic Love Gelgamic Catholic: The Gelgamic vagina is three feet wide and filled with razor sharp teeth. Do you really expect us to have sex with that? Maxi: Maybe we should just forget about the Gelgamics for a little... Gelgamic catholic outraged: Forget about the Gelgamics??!!! Other Gelgamics:(Incomprehenisble alien babbling.) There are so many fantastic and bizarre South Park episodes that could be up here as well, but the way they structured it and brought together the A and B storylines, and the absurdity of the Spider and the moral message...Parker and Stone are masters of television. That is all. (Consideration: Butter's Very Own Episode, Towlie, Kenny Dies, Prof. Chaos, Christian Rock Hard) 9. CSI - The Accused is Entitled. Grissom's mentor puts CSI on Trial. Grissoms Mother says "Hello". Fuck Yeah. It's great to see Grissom just own shit when the chips are down. (Considerations: Butterflied, Bad to the Bone, Early Rollout) 10. DRAGONBALL Z - Goku... Super Saiyan?. At the height of my DBZ markdom came this episode. It was the last episode they aired for a long, long, long time, and even after all the months I was still hyped to see what happened next. I love the formula of "guys get beat up, Goku comes back strong than ever and fucks shit up somethin proper". This episode defined that formula. (Considerations: Goku Strikes Back)

AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 In no particular order, also limiting myself as much as possible to one episode per series... Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Gift The Simpsons - A Streetcar Named Marge (Homer At The Bat, Homer Defined, Last Exit To Springfield, and any number of other episodes from seasons 2-6, and scattered others could be here.) Angel - A Hole In The World Firefly - Out Of Gas Scrubs - My Screw Up Seinfeld - The Fix-Up (Again, any number of episodes could be here.) Lost - Walkabout (All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues a close 2nd.) My So-Called Life - So-Called Angels 24 - Day 2: 10:00 P.M.-11:00 P.M. (The nuke detonation episode.) The West Wing - Two Cathedrals South Park should be in there, but I couldn't think of one episode I'd put on top. Woodland Critter Christmas would be my choice, but it loses the crazy shock value during repeat viewings.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters - The episodes featuring the Boogeyman monster, and the other monster that disguised himself as an old lady, and was called "WHAT". Beavis and Butthead - The Great Cornholio, Viya Con Cornholio, Buttniks, Bungholio: Lord of the Harvest. X-Men Animated Series - The 4-part episode that was a take on the Age of Apocalypse.
