If they went that way, take out Christian, Eddie and Rey (they'll have their feud by then) and replace them with Show, Booker and Carlito, or someone who won't have a feud by then. Man- that match would blow.

This way, Christian has a relatively high-profile match for Mania to reward his improvement in the past few months. Then maybe they'll put Benoit with Hassan, especially since it didn't seem like any part of that feud with Hassan was resolved on Monday. Plus, looking past his wrestling skills, Hassan gets way too much of a reaction from the crowd to NOT be put on the WrestleMania card. Ladder Match for #1 Contendership Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Christian vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Misterio vs. Booker T Chris Benoit vs. Mohammed Hassan ...is how I see them going with this.

Jury's still out on Hassan, but he bumped ok yesterday.
Boon Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 Well, that's not who I'd book in there. I'd book Jericho, Benjamin, Benoit, Christian, Edge and Hassan, b/c I saw Hassan at the BU house show w/ Benoit, and he didn't do bad at all.

Same reason I discounted it being TLC 5 (Jericho/Benoit vs E&C vs. Tajiri/Regal). I'm pretty sure Edge has also mentioned he has no desire to do that type of match again, though I guess if he wasn't jumping off the top of 20 foot ladders and spearing someone of the belt hook he might be cool with it.

Not to mention (x2) the fact that they can't even think of anything useful to do with these guys. Benoit - walked out of WM as champ last year, done jackshit since he dropped the belt Jericho - 1 of the most popular guys on the roster Edge - the #2 heel on Raw Christian - busting his ass for the last 5-6 months Benjamin - IC Champ Pretty sad that all/most of these guys are going to be lumped into a slapdash "creative has nothing else for you to do" match.

What should happen is Bischoff bitches and goes "NO WAY does Chris Jericho have the authority to set up a match like that"...Jericho gets all in Bischoff's face...Edge comes down to save Bischoff. Jericho and Edge go at it. Christian comes down to assist Edge, which leads to benoit evening it up. What was edge's motivation for saving bischoff? to get the #1 contender spot the next night after WrestleMania. Christian's? I'd have him lose a match via a cradle to Tajiri and go nuts. He helps Edge out because he wants the spotlight again and he cant get it unless edge is with him. Benoit saving Jericho purpose needs no explanation. So i'd have this set up go down :Later that night in Bischoff's office: Eric: Edge, thanks for your assistance tonight Christain: You are welcome Mr. Bischoff Edge: I saved your ass, i think that should entitle me to the #1 contendership for the world title. Eric: Perhaps...however i decided because of Jericho's aggressive attitude and attempted assualt, that i will NOT scantion his "Elite Ladder match" idea. Christian: so what are you going to do then? Eric: A very special tag team match; The combination of Jericho and Benoit against...one of the most legendary teams of all time... Christian: Demolition? Steiner Brothers? Strike Force? Headshrinkers? Bischoff: No not the headshrinkers but former multiple time tag team champions, Edge and Christian Christian: AWESOME! *HIGH FIVE ATTEMPT* Edge: *starts convulsing* *goes red* Christian: You okay man? I mean, i guess it wouldn't hurt to team up with my old pal here *slaps xian hard on the back* Simple set up...All four men address they want a shot at the title. Edge again doesn't get his "way". Allows for a great match that doesn't jeoporize there careers yet again and instantly gives Batistia a challenger to work with(Edge or even a heel turned jericho or benoit work). As for the I.C Title? Simple as this. Benjamin is a fighting champion, the "undefeated" Hassan challenges for it. It's EASY as hell.

I think they should do both brands and let Benoit/Edge do a submissions match or something with the winner getting a shot at the champion.

Oh yeah, there was cumulative damage and that's been confirmed. But it was TLCIII which was the straw that broke the camel's back. Benoit has mentioned this in more than 1 occasion when he's not in complete kayfabe mode.

The cage match certainly didn't help but if you watch the match closely you can tell Benoit's legit hurt in it at the get go. I think you can pretty much tell with several matches after TLCIII. You can see it in the match against Austin too. Angle confirmed he was hurt at this point too by saying how impressive the match was considering Benoit's health status. In the cage match, Benoit mostly chops in it with his left arm. 99.9% of the time he chops with his right arm. The one or two chops he does get with his right arm in this match are noticably slower than usual.
