--After his performance on Tuesday against Kurt Angle, WWE has signed Marty Jannetty to a contract. It is not 100%, but he is expected to be on the Raw side and interact in some form with Shawn Michaels

Michaels will have nothing to do unless he gets hot shot once again into the "#1 Contenders" role, so that sounds like a good idea.

Well, I ask for two reasons:

 

First off, a lot of the guys fighting for TV time probably get jealous/angry whenever ANYONE gets signed. When it's a wrestler Jannettys age with his past problems, it's probably worse.

 

Secondly, Jannetty will, most likely, be their opponent on Heat before too long.

I'd say that Regal in particular was in exactly the same position as Janetty back in 2000- he'd been hired and fired by both wwf and wcw numerous times due o personal problems, but was given another chance based on a standout performance vs Benoit at the Pillman show......

 

 

Although I would say that if you gave any of the above guys an almost 20 minute competitive match with Angle, they'd probably be able to get themselves over, even Rosey!

I'm trying to think how a Shawn-Marty feud could start.

 

Jannetty could ask Shawn to tag every week until Shawn gets annoyed and tells him to beat it.

Shawn: We've been the Rockers for the past month...and for 8 years prior to that.

Marty: What are you tying to say?

Shawn: I think we should stop tagging.

Nothing against Rosey, the crowd popped for him when he got offence in against HHH, but he's probably a lot better than the gimmick allows him to be- still not on the level of Regal though.....

They really should do a Rockers tag-team run. It will liven up the tag team division and it's not like either one of them are going to have a lot to do after WM. Unless Shawn goes to Smackdown.

I don't even think Marty should feud with Shawn. I think someone else pointed it out, but after the feud is over Marty would be DONE.

 

 

Better to keep him as a face, have him hang around with Shawn and have him put over guys like Hassan. That's the way to go, having him turn on Shawn would be predictable and would kill any heat Marty had.

Awesome news. Well deserved. The tag match on RAW was fun for nostalgia reasons and showed he could keep up but that match with Angle on Smackdown put him over the top. First **** match on Smackdown in a long time. I was marking out for every false finish, it was great. Glad to see Marty has turned his life around and gotten a WWE contract again...
