Here's a better question, who is better between T-Mac and Lebron?

Right now, it's McGrady. Just look at the recent meeting the two had... McGrady was on LeBron nearly all game and held him to 19 points. LeBron didn't even guard McGrady in the game. I must have missed when LeBron became a good man-on-man defender. He has the skills and the tools, but right at this very moment I'd give the advantage to McGrady.

I count 10 winnable games.

I'm very interested in seeing how the Bulls fair against Washington. Chicago is more than likely going to play Washington in the first round of the playoffs. Right now Washington is sitting at the 4th seed and Chicago at the 5th Chicago has a very favorable schedule coming up so they very well could get up to the 4th seed and grab home court advantage. Washington hasn't had the greatest road record this season either. So the cards may actually play in favor of Chicago for once. The Detroit and Miami games are also very important games that the Bulls need to win to prove they can really run with the big dogs of the Eastern Conference.

 

In the debate about Lebron/T-Mac, I'll take T-Mac any day of the week over LeBron. T-Mac is currently much more of a complete player than James. James can score a ton of points but sometimes it really doesn't appear like he is giving all of his effort at both ends of the court.

I have a firm belief right now that the Bulls can beat anyone in the East playoffs outside of maybe Miami and Detroit. If they take on Washington in the first round, that might be a pretty good matchup building off that pre-season fight.

I think Washingtons backcourt will own Chicagos, but the Bulls have a very tough frontcourt. It will be an interesting series, I really think homecourt advantage will be the deciding factor.

Bulls are solid. No team outside of the Heat and Pistons will "own" them. (Well the Nets maybe for unexplained reasons)

 

EDIT: Also, Larry Brown might not come back. The Pistons sans Brown are a just a .500 team. If they're in the playoffs with Gar Heard at the helm, they're hardly a lock.

The Bulls have been a hell of a shocker this season.

 

As an infamous crazed old kook of a coach once said:

Yeah, the Bulls are in the playoffs this season. Whoda thunk it?

 

Miami is taking the East. They've got a nice amount of bench depth and they're playing like a championship team should. The Pistons just seem to be coasting this season, since the back bone of their team, Larry Brown, appears as if he's ready to call it a career. The Pistons are still a good team but I could see Washington beating them if they let their guard down.

 

Shaq is probably going to make good on his championship promise to Miami this season if the Western teams don't come into the Finals healthy.

 

If Tim Duncan is lost for the season or can't get healed up properly by the time the playoffs roll around, then I see the Suns taking it. I do think the Sonics have a chance at making it to the West Finals but they've gotta stay healthy for that to happen. I don't think the team can beat the Spurs but could have a chance against the Suns if they're playing with all their guys healthy.

 

The Spurs w/Duncan > The Suns w/Nash.

 

If either one of those guys goes down though, the other team is going to get poofed by the other.

The announcer said it was just the second in franchise history. Kevin Johnson had the other one, we were discussing it in a thread a few weeks back. Can't believe Barkley never had one with the Suns.

I know that there shouldn't be anyone in the East wanting New Jersey to get in. If they get to that 7 spot(which is possible with the Pacers having so many injuries and the Sixers and Orlando being inconsistant) I think they would whip up on the Pistons. Yeah, they are a two man team, but goddamn look at what those two men are doing. I don't see saying anyone would definately beat them, although Miami would be a challenge.

 

In the West, I think if the Suns don't have to play Memphis in the first round, they could probably make it the whole way. Timmay's ankle is going to be tender for the rest of this year, even when he comes back. All those little tweeks are still going to eat him up. Duncan at 100% would probably (and I stress the probably) take teh suns in a 7 game series but with Tim limping, I give the edge to the Suns. Memphis...those goddamn grizzlies could take the suns for some reason though. Fucking Mike Fratello.

I don't get how the team is overrated. They have the best center in the League, one of the best guards in the league a point guard that hits big threes, a couple of PF's that do nothing but rebound but can hit the perimeter shot, a decent SF that will get you 14-15 points a night.

Yeah, but thats the thing. He can't defend physcially aggresive bigs. He is a beast when he is the physically aggresive big, but when you throw another at him, he is going to foul the SHIT out of them and do it often. The Nets next year with Kid, Carter, Jefferson MAYBE a health Scalabrine(don't correct my spelling bob...you know who the fuck I mean) and Kristic...thats a pretty interesting team.

 

And I still have confidence that Planinic is going to be a player sometimes soon and that Ron Mercer will be a contributor.

I LOVE Planinic. Before they got Vince and Vince became VINSANITY!~ he was my favourite player on the Nets. He has his off nights (I think being shunted down the depth chart for a bit hurt him) but the guy is a consistent shooter, plays good defence and is really fast.

 

I don't like Scalabrine. I mean he was cool when he was the goofy red head guy who sat on the bench and didn't do anything but now that he plays- eh. He had a good game last night but he takes too many threes and misses a lot of shots.

 

Carter-Kidd-Jefferson-Kristic-Collins I think is a really good starting 5. They also have a pretty good bench with Vaughn, Best, Planinic. They just need to upgrade their forward and centre bench.

Basically, they are the Lakers from the past few years.

They're overrated because they play in a terrible conference. They'd probably be like a 4th or 5th seed in the West. I'm not saying they're bad, and a lot of credit goes to Wade and, yes, Shaq, but outside of those two and Eddie Jones' occasional great night, who else do they have? They're very thin, and with Shaq, slow on defense. I could easily see the Suns, Spurs, hell even a team like the Mavs, takin them out. Now in the East, MAYBE Detroit depending on the kind of basketball they play into May, and there's a good possibility the Bulls or Celts could pull off an upset, the Bulls moreso.

I'm not a huge Jason Kidd fan myself (a lot of times he has off nights from the field) but after seeing what the Nets were like without him this year, I know they need him badly and he helps win a lot of games.

 

And even though I hated Vince with a passion ever since I moved to Toronto, now that he's dominating on the Nets, I cannot hate him
