tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I've been listening to the band for over ten years now and I was interested in seeing this show. They opened up with American Idiot and a fan was allowed to ask a question afterwards: "Do you think anyone who voted for Bush is an American Idiot"" - fan in audience "No, just an uninformed idiot" - Billie Joe Armstrong "Good answer" - same fan who asked the question Way to insult the people who buy your albums. godthedog 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 they're not obligated to pander to you. they can say whatever they want, and you're free to like them or not like them.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I think it's funny how each side calls the other "uninformed," that's why I choose to remain nreutral in those kinds of arguments.
tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I'm not suggesting thatl Green Day to make to please me; they can do what they want. It's not that I'm upset at them for protesting Bush, it's the idea that people who exercized their right to vote are somehow idiots. I'm neither Republican or Democrat, so I enjoy watching both sides argue with each other. Whatever the issue, I don't think anyone should say that their vote was wasted or that they are idiots. The true American Idiot is someone who doesn't vote or doesn't pay any attention to the issues.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 While I'm all for people having their political opnions and expressing them, even though I don't want to hear them. The election was 5 months ago. Get over it and play "Welcome to Paradise."

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 I hated the 04 election. Vote or Die and all of this other stupid shit. If you're two picks are between a jackass and a fucking jackass I think you speak louder by not voting at all.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 Well, my life is entirely the same now as it would have been had I voted. I got sick of hearing about last year's voter obligation that people wouldn't shut up about. I think you took what I said a little too seriously, I wasn't making a big political stand like you're trying to make it sound like.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Green Day's my favorite band (along with The Doors) and they're the reason I started playing guitar, writing songs, and wanting to be in a band. However, I missed Storytellers since I was at WrestleMania. Hopefully they'll replay it soon.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Same for me too, except my motivation was "I hope my band isn't shitty like Green Day." How are you coming along with songwriting, though? I find myself often trying to circumvent using staff paper to write my ideas down, because after playing trumpet for nine years and keyboards for thirteen years (I learned to read music in 1992 I believe), I still cannot write out music well. Remarkably irritating.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Just record and play by ear. Write out complex stuff so it's not forgotten or muddied up.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Oh I can write the chord notation, that's no problem. It's the more complicated rhythms that I have trouble transcribing. I could probably do it if I just sat down and thought it through, but I just play it on a synthesizer and send it into the computer and save the file. Oh well. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2005 Green Day don't piss me off that much, their new stuff isn't good but they've been able to hook the kids for ten years and I appreciate that.

Maybe you should just tape what you're playing. Nothing fancy; just so you can remember the different rhythms and sections.

That's pretty much what I'm doing, just with a direct line in from the synthesizer to the laptop, because I don't have a microphone at school.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 As George Carlin said (paraphrasing here guys) " If I Don't vote, I have every right to complain. Cuz I didnt vote for this guy, you did, its your fault" anyhow Greend Day gets my props for making a song like that, even if It meant very little to the USA. At least the song is good. Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2005 anyhow Greend Day gets my props for making a song like that, even if It meant very little to the USA. At least the song is good. But it's not. It really, really isn't. Didn't they win the Grammy for best album of the year? I'm amazed, really, that they were able to ride the wave of anti-Bush and / or anti-conservatism sentiment in the entertainment industry to such an award, because that album of theirs is the absolute drizzling shits.
