Guest BDC Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Just like to say that Kurt's tights are awesome.
AndrewTS Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 "Please watch Star Trek: Enterprise! We've got green-skinned girls. GREEN-SKINNED GIRLS!!!"
DMann2003 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 That whole bit with Eddie, Kurt and the steel chair- why I love wrestling.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 God, this crowd is HOT for Eddie and Kurt, also, I like Angle's new singlet
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Hey, if Joe Rogan sent you, the least you could have done is spell his name correctly.
Guest JMA Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Great match, but I'm desperately hoping that they don't turn Eddie heel.
ISportsFan Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Fun match with a terrible finish. After all those moves got two counts, that weak chair shot after a ton of time got the fall? But, that's about as good of a finish a TV main event gets these days. Â Jason
Gary Floyd Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 "Please watch Star Trek: Enterprise! We've got green-skinned girls. GREEN-SKINNED GIRLS!!!" Sorry, not enough to keep me interested. Â Great match between Kurt and Eddy. Too bad about thie finish, though I saw it coming a mile away
Silence Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I still can't believe that WWE's desperately trying to turn Eddie heel, considering how over he still is. Of course, I wouldn't put it past WWE to try to alienate the Latino market.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 They looked like stars, which is hard for new people in WWE. That's because Joey Matthews IS a star! Â Â Â /Joey Matthews inside joke.
Secret Agent Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Wow, I really digged that main event. Especially the spot with Kurt, Eddie and the chair. The show was much better than RAW and Cena seems over enough to me - don't know why everyone is bitching about him.

The show was much better than RAW and Cena seems over enough to me - don't know why everyone is bitching about him. Because Cena had been putting on God awful matches for as long as I can recall with one of the suckiest finishers in history AND he keeps getting these stupid spinner belts?
Secret Agent Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Well I can say i haven't seen a ton of Cena matches but from the ones I have his matches remind me a lot of Stone Cold's punch/kick brawls instead of wrestling clinics. I also liked the US spinner belt so I have no complaints there - the WWE Championship might have to grow on em as I don't really like it simply saying "Champ". Â Oh, and I always thought that they way they choose Champions (other than peeps like JBL being the exception) is by who can move the most merchandise. Cena is moving merchandise liek crazy according to the top sold items at WWE shop zone.
ChrisMWaters Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 ...something I just noticed: Â This is the second week in a row that The Undertaker has NOT appeared on Smackdown. Â Where is the deadman anyway?
Taker666 Posted April 15, 2005 Author Report Posted April 15, 2005 ...something I just noticed:Â This is the second week in a row that The Undertaker has NOT appeared on Smackdown. Â Where is the deadman anyway? I'am guessing he'll start a feud with one of the tournment participants ones its over. theres been rumors that he and Angle want to start a feud. I hope we don't see a repeat of last year, when it took what, 5 weeks? for Undertaker to finally appear on SmackDown! after WrestleMania. Â Anyways, Smackdown! was just brilliant this week. with the exception of Torrie/Dawn and maybe Heidenreich. everything was just awesome. Â MNM's profile is already on WWE.com. cool.

He appeared the last Smackdown before the Draft last year...to Tombstone Heyman.
Jobber of the Week Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 AND he keeps getting these stupid spinner belts? But they're getting over, so doesn't that make it a success? It's like complaining about Hogan tearing his t-shirt or doing the ear-cup thing. Sure it looks stupid, but it IS over. Â I'm still suprised how quickly "Waaah, they need to put over young guys!" becomes "Waaah, they spend too much energy on young guys!"
Guest Ransome Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Sharmell seemed to cut a better promo than half the guys in the Smackdown roster, does anyone know the reason she was originally released from being an interviewer in late 2001/early 2002? Â I gotta say, cheers to WWE for trying to bring in an actual tag team into their dead division ('MNM'), jeers for dressing them up like Smoking Gunns '05.
Crimson Platypus Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Heidenreich cracked me up last night. Fart jokes = hilarity.

I'm still suprised how quickly "Waaah, they need to put over young guys!" becomes "Waaah, they spend too much energy on young guys!" Maybe if they brought in more talented young guys, I'd say okay, and heck, I'd be willing to work with Cena if he even used that spinout powerbomb as a finish, but between the horrid finisher, the spinning belt, and some BAD promos(although he's getting better since he got the belt), he just seems like...I don't know, a very desperate appeal to the hip hop crowd. I like how D'Lo pulled it off better myself.
Art Sandusky Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Smoking skulls piss me off, so I'm going to have to declare my dislike for this "smoking skull WWF Championship belt" I keep hearing about and seeing. I fear I won't be able to watch current programming any longer, such is the degree to which this eyesore has angered me.
Ripper Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 for some odd reason, I wasn't completely annoyed by the dawn marie/torrie match. Dawn actually looked pretty decent and torrie...well...she did a swinging neck breaker and bounced her face off the mat well....thats all I got.
SuperJerk Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 ...something I just noticed:Â This is the second week in a row that The Undertaker has NOT appeared on Smackdown. Â Where is the deadman anyway? I guarantee that, wherever he is right now, he's not putting anyone over.
Zack Malibu Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Color me impressed. These guys sort of remind me of a New Age version of the Hollywood Blondes. YES~! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. And seeing as how the Blondes are my favorite tag team ever, it's no wonder I've become a huge MNM fan thanks to OVW. For the first time in a LONG time, I went out of my way to watch/tape Smackdown.

I like how D'Lo pulled it off better myself. Again, I must draw Hogan comparisons. His promos were often very out there, and his finisher was a simple leg drop made fancy because it was preceeding with the goofiest sequence ever that involved breaking kayfabe with a bunch of superhuman no-selling. Â But it worked, and it got over, and it made the company money. Â Â Again, as a person who wants to see good wrestling, you may not like Cena. But for the general audience that doesn't seek their entertainment in pure workrate, he gets the job done.
Dobbs 3K Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I thought the Torrie/Dawn match was surprisingly decent as well. Not a classic or anything, but probably the best women's match on Smackdown in a LONG time. They didn't really botch anything, and there were a couple good sequences with the repeated two counts and the finisher sequence.

But for the general audience that doesn't seek their entertainment in pure workrate, he gets the job done. Give me the Legdrop Of Doom anyday. Having a 300 lb man drop his leg across your throat would probably hurt more than going through a slightly elevated fireman's carry. If he tweaked his move JUST the slightest, just did the DVD right, or did the spinout bomb I'd be happy. Well, not happy, but I'd buy him pinning someone a bit more.
Matt Young Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 MNM is fucking awesome. I read OVW results, but I had never seen footage of them. I was always a fan of John Hennigan (Nitro), being a TE mark, and I liked what little I had seen of Matthews/Mercury. Plus Melina's fucking hot. Â That entrance was spectacular, although they stole it from me. I always wanted to go abck to NMW in Springfield, IL, once I finished wrestling training and have a character where I thought I was better than everyone else due to living "in" Hollywood. The best gimmicks are based on real life, right? I was going to have a red carpet and paparazzi, too. Fuck. First they steal the vertebreaker, now this. Â Overall, MNM are the best team to debut in years. They impressed me so much that I even had a dream with them in it. I hope they win the titles at Judgment Day, if not earlier.

Team Angle Pusher Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 MNM is really cool and all and I hope they are good in the ring BUT they were a bit too gay when they came out, especially Mercury, with his hand through his hair and stuff
