Just John 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Apparently the 76ers think NBA games only last 12 minutes. Everyone looked sharp in the 1st, but since then, no one but AI and occasionally Webber seem to be doing anything. That Iverson inbound save to the 180 jam by Igoudala was sweet, though. nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 screw the trophy, they should just defend the belts. Wear the belts to all playoff games... if th Pistons lose before the Finals, then David "Vince" Stern takes the belts and gives them to the winners of the Finals. Thats the best idea I've ever heard. It would make me want to watch even more.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Detroit start their title defence in impressive style, beating Philadelphia by 21. While there's little doubt on who will advance between the two i expected the 76'ers to be a little more competitive than that.

nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 The Rockets are up by 16 on Dallas. T Mac has 17 pts bu Yao has only played 9 minutes.
The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 That Iverson inbound save to the 180 jam by Igoudala was sweet, though. "Iggy-Hops" is a sick dunker. I was reading a thing he wrote for Slam Magazine last month, and in it, he expressed how geniunely dissappointed he was that he wasn't asked to participate in the slam dunk competition. Finally, a good dunker who actually wants to participate in the dunk contest?! Get him in immediately, please. Just before tip-off of the Houston/Dallas game, did anyone catch the lady reporter person who said that Eric Dampier thinks he is the best center in the West? We must be in a real drought for centers if he's out proclaiming he's the best in the West.
nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Wow, Erick Dampier is a joke. Im pretty sure the best center in the West doesnt avg 9 pts and 8 reb. Yao and Brad Miller are leaps and bounds better than him.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Don't forget Amare Stoudamire as well.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 24, 2005 I'm not trying to take anything away from the Rockets because T-Mac had big balls today, but the Mavericks are soft. How does a two guard clamp down on Dirk Nowitzki? They looked like a bunch of hos out there today and I hope we're going to see better games during the rest of this first round. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 The Rockets have been really hot lately, so I'm not that surprise to see them take the first game from the Mavericks. I've said this series is going seven games all along. Considering the Mavericks haven't played a meaningful game in over a month, it's only natural it will take them some time to get back in the zone. If they lose Game 2, then I'd be worried, but for now, I still think they should beat Houston and Phoenix in 7, and make it to the Western Conference Finals against San Antonio. Once they get there though, they'll get slapped down. Getting Dampier to play the post was a cute idea, but he's still not going to be able to guard Duncan. I still wish Cuban would have just traded Nowitzki for Shaq and re-signed Nash. I just wanted to see the Mavs win one or two rings.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Mavs are going nowhere with Shawn Bradley on the team....maybe they can trade him for Theo Ratliff or one of the Blazers.

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Is anybody here getting NBATV? I read on their site that there is supposed to be a free preview for a little while starting today... but I am not getting it here. Any of you? The only reason I'm concerned with it is because Game 2 of Detroit/Philly isn't on nationwide, its on NBATV, and since i moved away from detroit last month i no longer get the local feed
MrRant 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Guess no one is watching the Kings vs. Sonics game.... But it's 55-40 Sonics at the half.

MrRant 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Yeah, I agree in the last few minutes there were no Kings fouls. But I don't think the Sonics will rest that easy again if they get up big.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 24, 2005 The playoffs have been underwhelming thus far and I see no signs of that trend stopping today. My money's on the Heat/Nets game ebing the best gmae of the day.
The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Is anybody here getting NBATV? I read on their site that there is supposed to be a free preview for a little while starting today... but I am not getting it here. Any of you? The only reason I'm concerned with it is because Game 2 of Detroit/Philly isn't on nationwide, its on NBATV, and since i moved away from detroit last month i no longer get the local feed I think this is what you are talking about: http://www.nba.com/nba_tv/NBA_TV_Playoff_C...139426-466.html I wonder if this applies for Canada as well. One of the Bulls/Wiz games will only be shown on NBA TV. I have no idea which channel this would be on either or how to access it at all. Speaking of the games though, did anyone see Vlad Rad's hair? What was up with that? Did he go to the same stylist that Sprewell and Hudson go to or something? I think the games today will be quite interesting. NJ vs. Miami is up for grabs since NJ is playing there best ball and Miami might have a hurt Shaq. Bulls vs. Wizards is filled with bad-blood between the two teams. None of them are going to want to lose to the other. San An vs. Denver is the same as NJ vs. Miami in a way. San An's big star is hurt and not 100% healthy, while Denver is also playing there best ball yet. Phx vs. Memphis... well, that's gonna be Suns domination I think. They'll score 120 points in some awesome fashion.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 I expect Tony Parker to go for 30 points, 7 assist, 3 steals in game 1 and expect Nahz Mohammand to go for double double in rebounds and blocks and maybe Bowen & Robinson to play some dirty defense causing the Nuggents to lose their cool getting some technical fouls. Spurs win 85-80.
