My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss was missing from that list... who starts a reality show and never even shows the twist ending?

Perhaps this Family Guy ep was made before My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss was cancelled?

I actually held off watching FG until tonight, and well worth the wait it was

The second ep of AD was much better than the pilot

^ I don't know. I really don't like reference that isn't parody. Ok. So you inserted a G.I. Joe PSA into the episode. What did you do with it besides play out a scene word-for-word? Reference itself isn't that funny.

It's like that episode where they play out the "hair gel" scene from "There's Something About Mary" with no difference except the fact that Stewie was standing in for Cameron Diaz. Where was the punchline?

I agree with this sentiment.

I also think that American Dad is absolute garbage and one of the worst shows I've ever seen.

I dunno about worst, I mean, there's the Mullets...but unfunny and derivitive, absolutely

Too each is own.Besides, I think it was more parody than anything.Flint would never talk about liver failure on an actual GI Joe episode. It was always stay away from down power lines or something pedestrian like that.

The reference itself can be the joke. Reference itself as the joke is a common occurance on this show and it usually works due to the situation it's used in. Sometimes it works due to total randomness.

I loved the new Family Guy episode. I was watching it at a friends house and had told him about the rare appearance by Ollie, the Weatherman. That was the best part of the episode for us. I'm hoping we get more appearances from Ollie in the future. I need at least one more appearance from the evil monkey in Chris's closet as well.

I was extremely disappointed by American Dad. I enjoyed the pilot, but I didn't think the premiere episode was a good follow-up. Oh well, there still an entire season for it to grow on me, and Im sure it will.

Missed the first part, unfortunately, but saw it from the opening credits onward. Too bad people had the Passion 2 stuff in their sigs for maybe a month or so before it aired. :P

American Dad was better than the pilot but still not really too high on it. The toothless and utterly pointless political slants just lay there and die, and Stan's god-boying is already getting predictable and old.

Two words for "Family Guy": "He Gon' Get It!"

Man, I forgot how awesome this show can be (constant re-runs kind of ruined it for me.)

"American Dad" still sucks. Hopefully, it won't last long.

American Dad sucked.

Family Guy got some good laughs out of me (the Archie hamburger comic!) but the whole Peter/Lois sidestory fell flat for me. Mel Gibson and the Passion was done to death (no pun) last year. And can we PLEASE move on from the tired Christianity/Jesus jokes? I'm no Christian, but that joke well has run mighty dry. I expect more from Seth because he usually makes fun of stuff that's obscure and weird. Jokes about religion are the lowest form of wit and irreverence. They're just above a poorly executed fart joke on the haha-meter. I just expect a little more effort.

I think only Peter and his family are Catholic. And that really only goes for his dad.

...you can't be serious here

So why would the Catholic Griffins want to destroy a Mel Gibson film, anyway?

I thought at the beginning Peter said he hated Passion 1 (and therefore wanted to spare the public a sequel), in which case he's not anti-Catholic, he just has good movie taste

I think my favorite part of Family Guy was the pedophile hanging out at the school dance. The Honeymooners scene got a good laugh out of me too.

I thought American Dad was even worse than the pilot. It might not have been but propped right up against Family Guy exposes all of the shows flaws.

I'm so glad Family Guy is back on.....AGAIN! Seriously through, I was cracking up for most of the entire show. But I think Fox should move American Dad to a different timeslot. Having it behind Family Guy might be the wrong idea. I just really didn't find A.D. that funny as I found Family Guy to be.

Between the two horrible Simpsons episodes, the over-rated FG episode, and the soon-to-be-canceled AD, last night was a painful two hours of TV to watch. I kept myself watching, thinking:

a) I've seen these ads for weeks now, they HAVE to have something good

b) no way these shows can stay this 'blah' for the entire 2 hours.

What a waste of a Sunday night.

I agree. Like the time that they did the Kids going to bed scene from Sound of Music. It was dead on, and that was the joke. I found it funny, just as I found Stewie with his hair slicked up funny in the Something about Mary parody and the Flint one from last night hilarious.

Also, the Chris Tucker impression had me laughing and laughing HARD.

Jesus: Do you know how to use one of these?

Chris Tucker: Do you know how to use one of Theeeeeeeeese??

That was without a doubt my least favorite FG joke attempt ever

Although it makes sense since it was probably my least favorite episode

IMO, the Jewish episode was fucking hilarious. All you need to know is this...

Optimus Prime, you're a Jew?

On the commentary for that episode Seth explains that the only way they could use the song on the show was if they didn't make fun of it, or use it in a mocking manner hence why its used in a completely straight way.

Lois is a "Protestant whore." :P

He called Jesus a "children's character," though.
