Kurt Angle Mark Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 By Dave Meltzer WWE has announced that since there were no matches taped in New York for Heat or Velocity, that tomorrow night's Velocity show will feature the dark match Battle Royal for the Wrestlemania DVD taped in Los Angeles
Guest Shadow Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 They should digitally add a potted plant into the match.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Oh well... might as well tape it since I'm a mark for Battle Royales.
Slickster Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I, for one, am glad. Wonder how they'll pad out the rest of the hour?
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Lots and lots of recaps and rebroadcasts from this past Smackdown. Ditto for Heat and RAW.
BorneAgain Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Heh, we'll get to see Rhyno's last WWE match.
Taker666 Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I remember seeing the battle Royal live at the staples center, it was alot of fun. the begining with Heidenreich and Hurricane was pretty funny. but I won't spoil it. I'll definlly be watching.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Old age has finally come knocking for me... I check the time, and my clock says 12:32 AM Saturday, and for some reason I thought Velocity was on an hour ago and tonight was Comedy Centrals secret stash.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Just out of curiousity, was there any incentive for the winner? Like did they get a title or a contenders shot? Anything?
Taker666 Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Just out of curiousity, was there any incentive for the winner? Like did they get a title or a contenders shot? Anything? Nope. The winner was just a winner. nonthing else.
ChrisMWaters Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Just out of curiousity, was there any incentive for the winner? Like did they get a title or a contenders shot? Anything? Nope. The winner was just a winner. nonthing else. Right. Kinda like the Mania 2 and IV battle royals.

The winner was just a winner. nonthing else. Right. Kinda like the Mania 2 and IV battle royals. Bad News Brown got a giant ass trophy. Thats way cooler then a title shot.

Except thanks to Bret Hart, he didn't get the chance to enjoy it.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 According to the Wrestlemania Book from 2000-2001 (the one that literaturely blows Vince McMahon every 3 sentences), Andre was supposed to get a trophy for the WM 2 Battle Royale, but left the ring before it could be brought out.

Matt Young Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 They didn't announce anything at the arena for the battle royal. They brought out the Raw superstars as a group and then the SD stars, not announcing names or eliminations. Still, it'll be cool to look for myself on TV. I still haven't seen the broadcast version of WM21 yet.

I still haven't seen the broadcast version of WM21 yet. exactly. I was rooting for Theodore Long and the SmackDown Superstars when they came out. there were some people around my section that were into the whole Raw Vs SmackDown competition thing. some were going for SD! while others were pulling for Raw. it was just fucking fun!. People don't know what they're missing when they miss out on going to a WWE Live Event.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 Yes we do... no annoying commentary from the current shit on RAW and SD (mainly Cole's fault).
MillenniumMan831 Posted April 23, 2005 Report Posted April 23, 2005 I'll certainly record it . . . after all, I did make two battle royal comps just for kicks. I'm a little surprised they don't show the CW tag dark match from the MSG tapings on Velocity and the Battle Royal on Heat.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 This was super lame... they clipped the match to the final 3 people in the ring.
Vyce Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 This was super lame... they clipped the match to the final 3 people in the ring. And one of the three people was Chris Masters. This episode of Velocity is completely worthless.
JoeDirt Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Haha, Masters couldn't get the Masterlock on Booker.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 For once, wouldn't it be a little nicer to have the final 3 NOT be heel-heel-face? It's so damn predictable. The last time I remember the heels actually eliminating the face was WM IV (Bad News/Hart against JYD).
JoeDirt Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Wow, they're rolling out all the video packages they can tonight. I don't see why they just didn't tape Velocity back on one of the weeks when it didn't air. Then they could show the matches from that taping tonight.
Guest Cosmonaut Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Yeah, they just showed Heat and Velocity here yesterday afternoon in Australia. Shows aren't "special" at all unless you consider unnecessary recapping from at and around WrestleMania filling in match time special. Heat's the same.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 The battle royal that gave the winner a World Title shot against Benoit at Bad Blood 2004 came down to Kane (heel) and Triple H (heel), so I'm guessing those two heels eliminated a face.

HHH eliminated Shelton Benjamin, and then HBK interfered and eliminated HHH, all while Kane just layed in the middle of the ring to win.
