What does the wireless guitar use in term of power? 2 AA Batteries? Can you use the rechargeable battery pack, that you can use on the Wireless Controllers?

2 AA's and you can't use the rechargeable pack...which sucks.

has anyone got it for the PC? The requirements are pretty steep, but I got them covered. I am hearing some issues about faster songs having lag, etc. Just wanted to know if there is any truth to those rumors, or if its just people playing it on a system that hardly meets the min requirements and has everything on bust

Question for you guys. Do most of you just use three fingers for the button-mashing and move them back and forth more, or do you use four fingers which requires less movement. My friend uses three and seems to be pretty well, but I have seen people using four and doing equally as well. My friend says he cannot get enough pressure from his pinky finger and it causes him to miss notes.

P.S. At Frys yesterday I saw some chick tearing it up on expert level doing the dragonforce song. It almost made me not even want the game anymore, thinking I would have to be THAT FUCKING GOOD at the game to beat it on expert...I mean WOW.

You play that song over the end credits after you beat the final boss, so you don't actually have to "beat" the song to complete the game (you don't even have to play the song).

Your index finger is probably stronger and more flexible, so shuffle that one between red and green, rather than move your pinky between blue and orange.

I actually went old school and downloaded the latest song pack for GH2 so I could play "The State of Massachusetts" by The Dropkick Murphys. It felt weird playing 2 after playing 3 and Rock Band. The HO/PO timing was just different enough to throw me off. Fun song but rather difficult. Kind of jumps all over the board. Still managed to hit 91%, but only got a 3*. I'm glad they're still supporting the older games. Also reminded me that I did not approve of them leaving Eddie Knox out of 3 but leaving in Izzy.

I just noticed that on the video shoot set in GH3 (the semi), there's a poster for Sweeney Todd on the wall. It's obscured a little bit by the scenery, but you can see it stuck on a wall during the pan around during the song intro.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Redoctane told Nintencast that downloadable songs for the Wii are hopefully, going to arrive starting the beginning of the new year.

Yay. I was disappointed by that lack of feature.

Is there downloadable content for the PS2 version? I'm not even online, but if they were to release more songs I would certainly consider getting it.

No online features for GH3 on PS2 means no downloadable content.

Good, I'd mark out like a lil bitch if they had classic Nintendo tracks on there.

I finished it last night on Medium (I pretty much suck at the game) and barely made it past Devil Went Down To Georgia.

Much like with GHII, my main complaint is that there is no slight raise in difficulty. It goes from really easy to insanly hard.

I'll can never get used to the orange button. Little fucker.

Quick question for you guys. I bought Guitar Hero III as a gift for someone today, but I did not buy the bundle with the wireless guitar since I heard that it was not as good as the one included with the second guitar hero. My question is, can I purchase the guitar from the second game by itself, or is buying the bundle the only real way to go?

Thanks

When I started GH1, I tried it the traditional way and didn't do so well, so I switched from left to right-hand play and, after a bit of practice, can now five-star most lower-tier Expert songs on the first try and three-star higher tier songs

For PS2 and X360, yes. The officially licensed ones run about $50 or so, but you can go the 3rd party route for a little less.

Yeah, I bought the one for PS2. What do you think about the wireless controller?

I got a wireless for the PS2 which works GREAT. The PS3 wireless is the really awful one. I should have just gotten the Ps2 version of GH3 and saved the money. Only real reason I got the PS3 GH3 was for d/l'able songs.
